Looks like there’s a recall now on the trunk latch for 2014-2021 model S. Our luck this will keep the SC busy and mean even longer for cameras…or maybe we can get both at same time 🙏

As an additional data point; Had service request in pre-recall for an AP2 under warranty with HW3 installed already. I am being positioned MCU 2 for $1500, radio upgrade for $500 optional. Looks like they are not offering the $250 difference for doing MCU 2 over the EEMC recall.

Not the car’s owner, but that X has AP1 so will be a no on FSD.

Thanks! I haven’t decided if I want to spend the $2,650 (tax) on MCU2, but would hate to put a new MCU1 in only to switch it out a month later or something. If they had a program for those with failed MC1’s (since the $2.5k includes labor and the warranty is essentially taking care of that)...

So my original MCU is most definitely showing signs that it’s about to give up. It’s under warranty, so in theory I could have them swap it out, but has anyone gotten a discount on MCU2 based on having a failed MCU1?

Wish this was available when I bought mine in February. Even has the free supercharging and barely gets the 4yr 50k. Great for a P100D at $60k. I do like my sunroof though and would at least want a glass of some sort.

Ah - thank you. I had only heard of one AP 2.0 that had gotten the upgrade already performed and apparently by accident. The first one. Guess I was just a bit behind on the info!

So now that they are starting to do the AP2.0 to HW3 upgrades I’ll be very curious to see if they change any cameras, radars, steering etc. In my case I’ll probably wait and do MCU1 with HW3 since I don’t find maps loading faster or Netflix to be worth $2,500 for me.
