Actually, the cheapest Tesla is 35k. 3k less than the average new car (if you're information is correct). Factor in the savings in maintenance and it's even more affordable. Then factor in the savings from not having to buy gas and it's even MORE affordable.

I think the intent is that if you are a prior owner or have watched every model 3 video on YouTube and feel like you don't need a lesson on how everything works, they skip that part. I'm sure you still have the ability to inspect and sign paperwork. Skipping the inspection would be RIDICULOUS...

I don't know if it's the case for most states, but I do know that Utah state law prohibits direct car manufacturers from selling unless they allow indirect dealers to also carry their products. Tesla does not allow indirect dealers so Utah has blocked them out. I believe Michigan is the same...

I ordered 11/8. Not a peep. My guess is that those cars were headed east. Nevada, Utah, Colorado. Who knows for sure though. I'll have to swing by Rocklin today and see if there are any cars there. It's on my way home.

I believe you just need to have proof of insurance in order to take delivery and drive off the lot. In NY, you will need to show proof of insurance on the VIN of your new car. California, where I live, only requires proof of insurance... doesn't need to show the actual VIN.

If you're serious... there are alot of people that really don't like you right now. :)

That seems to be the case. If you aren't available to take delivery, you might be able to negotiate another day or two. If not, they deliver the car to someone who is ready and you go back in line. Not sure if you go to the back of the line or just back in line. The process is very unclear.

Um, you may want to do a quick google search for "porsche paint defects". You'll find loads of forums with new owners that are complaining about defects and the trouble they have with getting them resolved. At least Tesla seems to being doing a decent job of working through the defects. LMGTFY
