    Mysterious Model 3 Unlocking

If your boot hasn't closed it won't lock. Turn on the beep on lock, windows close on lock.

Model Y Perf or BMW X3M?

The interior of the Tesla is "interesting". Its basic, there's no getting away from it. But today I was cleaning off some paint that had transferred itself from my jumper to the car when I'd been painting a piece of furniture a couple of weeks ago. It took some scrubbing - leather would have...

Tesla Model 3 UK Manual Towbar Accessory Limit of 55Kgs

My UK manual from Nov 19 says the max weight is 55kg vertically - so for a caravan/trailer that would be the nose weight not the trailer weight which is on the certificate of conformity. It says that trailers weighing over 750kg must have brakes, but that's UK law anyway.

    Climate Change Denial

Proof that CO2 has minimal impact runs as follows:- The surface of the earth is at a temperature that emits "black body radiation". In heading out into space it hits CO2 molecules and can excite them (causing them to heat up). However this excitation only occurs at a very specific frequency...

Charging to 100% at home vs Supercharging

Personally I'd charge at home to 100%, drive quickly and do a quick charge late on in the journey. 25 mins will take you from 10% to 80% by which time the charge rate will be below 50kw, so not worth continuing.

    Disappearing Bluetooth Door Locking Radios

I was under the impression that Tesla use bluetooth for comms on quite a few of their internal components. Bluetooth Low Energy lends itself to that and removes the need for wiring busses all over the place. Slightly more expensive electronics but so much more flexible, lighter and massive...

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

Yes, but the obvious route is to allow them to act as a test bed for new ideas - 3 engines, different batteries, even new interiors etc. The way they are made allows rapid retooling at low cost. But they do need the model 3 and Y improvements as a start.

    Supercharging Revenue

Tesla will have to account for their superchargers in their annual accounts - they are not allowed under accounting rules to lump the income in with sales. Its the same principle that a software company has to separate support revenues from sales revenues (where it can end up 50:50). With so...

    Tesla UK Customer Support

Just experienced Manchester (UK) customer support. Model 3 SR+ 2 weeks old with windows that seem to open themselves when its raining (a well known feature of Manchester weather). I admit it could be the way I open the door, touching the switches when I'm getting out in a hurry to avoid the...

    Less regen on 2019.40.2?

Just updated to 2019.36.2.4 which I suspect is just a version branch for UK with just a few bug fixes and thought my regen braking had gone. It caused a bit of panic braking. Got loads of dots on line under speedometer. Only had car 2 weeks and its not as good as it was after 2 upgrades...

    2019.36.2.3

Just gone from .1 to .3 this morning and noticed big reduction in regeneration braking. Yesterday it was more like leaf -epedal today more like leaf b mode. I prefer the old one much more having just got used to it.
