2022 MS - Third Brake Light Out

Thanks to this thread I've just noticed that mine's gone too in my 2022 LR... First available service appointment is over a month away too.

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

Same here, I had 1426kWh and based on the amount I got last year I didn't bother trying to burn any of the excess but now wish I had... in reality it would only have saved me $60 though. I'm surprised at how much lower it was than last year! Either way the tariff still saved me over 20% over...

I don't know, it's possible that they'll allow existing customers to keep it I guess?

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

FYI PSE&G is proposing to close RLM and replace it with two new RS TOU schedules if you look at their latest rate proposal. For people with solar and no batteries it's probably not going to be a good change - the new proposed peak times are 4pm-9pm so there will be little opportunity to export...

    Dump net metering [in NJ]?

File a complaint with the BPU here and somebody from PSE&G's executive office will follow up with you. Those reps actually know what they're talking about! https://www.state.nj.us/bpu/assistance/complaints/inquiry.html

    Dump net metering [in NJ]?

I don't think this is correct - AFAIK there is nothing in the tariff document that prohibits RLM with net metering. The front line staff don't really understand RLM or why you would want it - I had to file a complaint with the BPU to get things straightened out. It's definitely possible - I...

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

Mobile service completed my retrofit yesterday and it’s such a big improvement over the yoke in day to day driving. The only real downside is that the wheel obscures the speed limit and the indicator for the lights in the instrument cluster - hopefully Tesla will move them in a future update...

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

Over the past year it's been about $0.026-28 for delivery and $0.055-0.064 for supply, it varies slightly every month for some reason. Just to give you an idea... This month's bill: July 2022 bill:

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

I had my annual true-up bill this month and PSE&G paid me $0.0718 for the unused peak credits which is around the cost of off peak electricity - I won't bother trying to use up peak excess next year!

Model S/X Round Steering Wheel & Retrofit

The retrofit is now available to order, I've done it and scheduled mobile service next week to have it fitted.

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

You just need to call and ask - some reps aren’t familiar with the process and/or try to tell you that it’s not worth it so you might have to be persistent. Do you have solar? The peak pricing is much higher than RS (almost $0.35/kWh during the summer months where you’ll be using the AC) so if...

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

You need a consumption meter installed so SolarEdge records your consumption - do you have that?
  18. O

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

PSE&G don’t allow us to access that data so you need your own. I had my usage data from SolarEdge and pvoutput.org was able to model usage by time of use period - this made me confident enough to change to RLM. In the end it worked out far better than I expected. PSE&G clearly aren’t a fan...

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

It depends entirely on your usage pattern. My solar only produces 8-8,500kWh a year but I use about 12,000kWh so RLM works great for me. If production matches your usage I can't imagine that it'd work too well for you. My true-up bill was this month and I did have about 300kWh of peak credits...

2022 Model S Long Range Yoke shaking at highway speeds

Tesla changed the half shafts after my last visit and it's definitely improved but I don't think it's gone away completely. I think it might just be that the shape of the yoke amplifies poor road surfaces...

TuneIn not showing iHeart stations now?

In my previous Model 3 I could stream iHeartRadio stations via TuneIn - 106.7 Lite FM (WLTW), 103.5 WKTU etc. They still appear and work fine in the TuneIn iOS app and they are added to my favorites but they just don't show in the TuneIn interface in my Model S. There is an iHeartRadio section...

2022 Model S Long Range Yoke shaking at highway speeds

I've done just over 1,000 miles in my 2022 Model S LR with 19s and I'm getting really bad shake/vibration in the yoke when doing 70mph + on the highway. Tesla re-balanced the wheels last week and said that had fixed it but I've been on a highway drive today and it seems to have made no...

Solar shutting down due to sudden voltage drop

Nope, that’s 18xB7 which is a hardware failure, my original inverter died with that error - it’s terminal. This is confusingly 18x7B.

Solar shutting down due to sudden voltage drop

I've had solar since 2019 and in the past couple of weeks I've had 5 days where my SolarEdge inverter has tripped out and refused to produce, reporting 18x3F: GRM Sync and 18x7B: Startup Error This has happened once or twice before - but once a year rather than multiple times a week! Tesla have...

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

Good news about the inverter but another month before they can install it is really bad. I guess it varies massively depending on where you are in the country.

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

My inverter was finally replaced yesterday after nearly two months of lost production. To be fair to Tesla they installed it 3 working days after the replacement arrived at their warehouse from SolarEdge so I can't really blame them for the huge delay, it just sucks to have lost two months of...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Picked mine up today - the underside of the front bumper is covered in scrapes, there's loads of excess glue around the rear window and one of the trim pieces is damaged. So frustrating! Otherwise the car is wonderful, I just wish Tesla would improve their quality control.

    SolarEdge Inverter Replacement

It's really bad. I'm still waiting for a replacement inverter and when I've called to ask for an update the customer service staff are incredibly rude - it's as if you're putting them out by daring to ask when they're planning to fix the system you've paid them tens of thousands of dollars for!

    SolarEdge Inverter Replacement

My SolarEdge inverter failed 4 weeks ago. Tesla originally told me up to 6 weeks for a replacement, today that has morphed into 8-12 weeks (?!) I have the case number and have been checking with SolarEdge daily but the replacement hasn't shipped - surely Tesla should be putting pressure on them...

    3 SolarEdge 18XB7 Failures

I thought I'd start this thread to document my experience with Tesla Energy support after my 3 year old SolarEdge inverter bricked itself last week with the 18xB7 error that sadly seems very common. PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

I am a bit annoyed that I didn't do the sums before because based on my usage last year it would have saved me $250 and that was without shifting my usage (running more A/C during peak times, running the dishwasher during the day, charging the car at peak times etc.) so I imagine the savings...
  47. O

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

Yes I did, thanks. This month's bill is +/- 1kWh compared to my SolarEdge/PVOutput figures. My solar array isn't large enough to cover all of my usage but I think the peak credits I'm building now will take me through the winter and I'll basically end up only paying the off peak rate of about...

PSEG and change to RLM time of use Billing

I recently asked to switch to RLM and PSE&G swapped out my meter a few days ago - the only thing is I'm not 100% convinced it's the right meter because it doesn't count peak/off peak separately. Can anybody else who has RLM and solar confirm if their meter is a Landis+Gyr Focus FAXRe-SD...
