Hey I think I was going to end up going this route. I noticed the Powerwalls doing some funky algorithm all on their own and I figured it had to do with maintaining them properly. But your post confirms that, appreciate the insight !

I spent about 3 months using powerwalls in self powered mode while waiting on the electric company to come out. Now I have net metering setup, so that is sufficient. When the thunderstorms return, I am sure I'll have ample opportunity to use them, however.

Hey thanks for your response. I think you misunderstood. I have an 11.360 kW solar system. But I am now using the powerwalls in backup only mode. Always charged unless I have an outtage. Wanted to know how this affects the batteries long term. Keeping them always charged.

I believe Tesla has fixed the problem remotely. I haven't seen a flow like this since I had it all installed. Now I just need the meter from the City and we should be good to go.

The Tesla App which I presume may be off due to some issue related to CT's, however I am not sure of this. I also haven't gotten the credentials to my Solar Edge app yet either to try and confirm any of what I am seeing.

So the installer had to come back out for something, when I showed him the issue, he rebooted everything and one of the CT's was flagged red in his test utility. He fixed the issue he saw which seems to have made things better (I see higher kW's in the daytime), but I am still seeing strange...

I guess the only difference than my install and others is that I didn’t work with Tesla. I worked with a local company called Maximo Solar. They had several Powerwalls on hand so I jumped on it since I was doing solar anyway. Hopefully it either works like the above poster or the installers...
