Sadly it is right. Go on your tesla app, schedule a service appointment and note that you want to upgrade from SR to SR+. They will send you a quote.

Hello everyone, Purchased a model 3 SR in June 2020 for $35,000. When I purchased it, the price for the SR+ was $37,990. MY question is: how much would it cost me to upgrade from SR to SR+ now?

Just got an email from Tesla today and my VIN has been assigned (738xxx). Standard range (not plus), white/white. Ordered on 4/30/2020.

I chatted with a Tesla agent today, and he assured me that applies to new buyers and existing ones.

Well, a new buyer can just buy the SR+ if they want to. I would assume, it's only for existing owners.

My SA told me that if you want to upgrade from SR to SR+, all you have to do now is pay the difference, $2990.
