    NEMA 14-50 HPWC

The NEMA 14-50 HPWC was replaced by the Corded Mobile Connector: Corded Mobile Connector. Like the 14-50 HPWC, it supports the full 40A charging rate a NEMA 14-50 is capable of (the regular Mobile Connector only supports 32A). Get it while you can - they never stay in stock for long, but they...

    Stealth Model 3 still wanted?

This is why I bought my Stealth. I could have gone full performance but I didn't want the rougher ride of 20" wheels and lowered, stiffer suspension in my daily driver with an 85 mile daily commute. Nor did I want to deal with having to immediately swap the summer tires out for winters on my...

    Supercharger- Kokomo, IN

Ladies and gentlemen, Kokomo is live! Topped out at 85kW starting at 35% SoC on a chilled battery, so not a good measurement there. But it's alive!

Service center experience: trading my 3 in for a Mercedes

My one experience: Ordered Homelink from Tesla Shop After a while, didn't get any contact from SC Went ahead and scheduled a service appointment in the app to install Mobile Service (3 1/2 years Tesla, 24 years Merc before that) came to my work, installed Homelink in about an hour. He made...

SR+ Heated Rear Seats Paid Upgrade live: $300

The steering wheel torque sensor becomes super sensitive when you are signaling to change lanes. The slightest turn of the wheel disengages Autosteer but leaves TACC engaged. Once you're established in your new lane, you have to double tap the stalk to re-engage Autosteer. It definitely takes...

SR+ Heated Rear Seats Paid Upgrade live: $300

When you consider that Merc, BMW and Audi include auto lane change in their ~$1,200 ADAS packages while Tesla doesn't include it in their $3,000 (baked into the price of the car) Autopilot and wants you to pay $7,000 more for it, yeah. Even so, I'd still pay $1K for it, probably even $1,500...

    Problems after FSD computer upgrade

Sentry events don't really consume power. Having Sentry Mode active keeps the car awake, AP computer and cameras alive and consumes about 250Wh/hour, whether you have 100 events or 0.

I think I just wasted $7,000 on FSD?

I am banking on either a subscription model or them unbundling the different features (i.e. being able to pay individually for auto lane change, basic summon, parking assist, smart summon, NoA). IMO the reason FSD isn't worth it right now is that it bundles features you don't need or won't even...

Be careful the beep alert when close to something does not always work how you think it would

What? That's shocking. Ask the body shop why they cannot PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) it.

    Problems after FSD computer upgrade

I have seen this in my 2020 Model 3 with HW3 as well, also when opening the browser and bringing up the first webpage. It's clearly an MCU bug.

Tesla like to Rob the British for just some heated seats?

Looks like everything's more expensive in the UK... the Performance is 19% more expensive, the SR+ and LR are 25% more expensive. Doesn't seem out of line for an upgrade to be 30% more expensive.

    Supercharger- Kokomo, IN

    According to the info plate, it's 500VDC @ 350A, which is 175kW. That's a V2 - V3 is 250kW. Unless they're doing some kind of crippled V3 that has V2ish speeds but doesn't do A/B power sharing.

    Several malfunctions on P3D

The brake pedal reset is not a thing on the 3. That is only on S/X. Open the door Without sitting in the car (just lean in, and don't put your weight on the seat) perform the Safety & Security / Power Off shutdown Leave the door open Wait until the door locks (3-5 minutes) and it is shut down...

    Funniest Tesla Question Thread

"Why do people key Teslas so much?" Huh, I wonder.

    ERS?

Even if this is true, the car has connectivity with Tesla's servers. All they would need to do is send data to Tesla's servers, which could in turn use a gateway service like Twilio to send an SMS. This feature should be a thing. My Honda's Hondalink profile had a spot where I could plug in up...

    Supercharger- Kokomo, IN

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

OP has a 2020, which already has the updated breathers. A thunk or three while Supercharging is expected as there is a rapid thermal change going on in the pack that causes expansion/contraction of the metal. The breather update calms this down a bit but is primarily meant to solve pack thunking...

False open indication on trunk, frunk and charge port

An MCU reset (two scrollwheel) probably won't help with that. Try the full reset - settings / Safety and security / Power Off. Wait at least 3 minutes before stepping on the brake to power back on.

Does Buying a Tesla Make sense for me?

"Context". Bingo. A person almost never provides enough context to base meaningful, informed financial advice off of, but people will offer it anyway. Even what you've provided here isn't nearly enough for anyone to provide useful advice. Someone would have to know how old you are, what your...

    Sudden Unexpected Acceleration today

Tesla responds today: There is no “unintended acceleration” in Tesla vehicles There is no “unintended acceleration” in Tesla vehicles The Tesla Team January 20, 2020 This petition is completely false and was brought by a Tesla short-seller. We investigate every single incident where the...

    Preheating Noise Changed

This is normal. The new software update enabled battery preheating when you turn on climate and the car is cold, and to preheat a cold battery before chsrging. The high pitched squeal is the drive motors. They are operated in a stalled condition, one half of the motor working against the other...

Error: “Autopilot Safety/Convenience Features Unavailable”. Software update required.

I’ve seen reports of this on reddit. The failed software update resulted in some components of the car having different software versions than others. In those cases, Tesla force pushed the update OTA to get everything back in sync and that solved the problem.

    Model 3 Charging 34/32 Amps

The Gen2 mobile connector was derated to 32A in response to a garage fire started by a Gen1. The Corded Mobile Connector delivers the full 40A available from a 14-50 outlet on a 50A circuit because the connection between the wall plug and UMC is hardwired.

Is Tesla still producing the P3D- Stealth model?

Exactly. All those things are still available, you just have to pay a bit for them. Homelink: $300. Floor mats: $95. 14-50 adapter: $35. Frunk mats are still available for $35. Even the "bag hooks" are available as a part through EPC for like $1.

    Navigate on autopilot question

Easiest way is to look up the roads you're interested in on OpenStreetMap. If it's categorized as motorway or freeway, NoA will work, otherwise not.

    Tesla Flaw Correction Procedure

What you are asking about is called a "due bill". It basically says what Tesla owes you (promises to fix) after you take delivery.

Sell my 2018 to buy 2020? Am I crazy?

When I was starting to think about buying, I drove a friend's early 2019 SR+. My 2020 Stealth is completely different. Way, WAY quieter.

    Tesla Flaw Correction Procedure

Same. My delivery appointment started 40 minutes late, but once it did, I had all the time I wanted to go over the car. No one rushed or pressured me. There were literally 0 issues with the car.

Issue with Tesla Financing, has anyone experienced this?

Had something like this happen to me. Got my trade-in stuff approved, did my finance app, finance was approved and I clicked to accept the terms. Went on to "We're drawing up your contract". A day later, it went back to "finance application pending". My SA had to reach out to the finance team...

    Last minute loan changes?

You would owe sales tax, destination and title as a down payment. Destination alone is another $1,200 above sales tax, and title varies based on your state. I'm thinking sales tax is what happened to you here because... So your sales tax rate would have very likely changed. Your original loan...
