Same, Perth and Belleville or Perth and Peterborough depending on my mood. Only been through Kingston once since Perth opened up because we actually needed to do something in Kingston.
This is good news, I've never seen more than 2 or 3 people waiting (though I've heard people talk about more) so fingers crossed this will make things better. The one time we got screwed by this station (30 min wait and then a really slow charge) was extremely annoying.
Taking a van trip across Canada next summer, and I'm so extremely hopeful we can have a Starlink connection! I saw some reference to it working even at high speeds, but honestly even if we just had it while stationary I'd be so excited.
There's just a bunch of Canadian Tire shoppers who see us come in to check on the charger and think "WOW those electric cars can charge up so quickly!" :P
I think it’s “15 minute general parking” which IIRC means that even an ICE can park there for 15 mins. They use that variant of the sign to appease the host (Canadian Tire) sometimes when they’re grumpy about the loss in parking spots.
Just got an install in our Town House last month by PowerItUp and it was about as painless as it gets. About $850 all in (plus the hardware of course). Highly recommended!
Passed by this morning on the way out for a cottage day trip and there were 2 cars plugged in! It still doesn’t appear on the in-car map for me, but I think Perth is live. We’re going to hit it on the way back this evening to see for ourselves
I got an email from Tesla today, over 6 mos after our purchase, asking to sign some paperwork related to the iZEV incentive that we got for our SR+. Has anyone else gotten this?
We took 7/37 to Belleville (one charge) through to Toronto yesterday, and the total time was almost exactly the same as the 416-401 with stops in Kingston and Port Hope (2 charges). I bet it's really dependent on the traffic, i.e. if you get stuck behind a tractor for 30m that won't help.
Once...
This is so very exciting. This makes coldest-day-of-the-year trips from Ottawa to Toronto in an SR+ much less stressful. Perth to Kingston or Belleville is a piece of cake compared to the full Ottawa to Kingston. And V3!!
I live a few blocks away, is this considered a showroom now? When I talked to them a while back there didn't seem to be plans for one, but the car stockpile in the lot says otherwise (there were upwards of 40 model 3's in there at one point).
Yep, passed through yesterday and walked over to the new site from the current one, and there's no activity.
The existing install is actually a really good charger when there's only 1 or 2 other stalls being used! 145kw no problem at 15% SOC.
Oh absolutely, I use an EC station near my apartment in Ottawa on a weekly basis. My comment was simply surprise that EC got the new features before Flo since Flo is the 'primary' network of AddEnergie and EC is a network they run for a customer.
It's Hydro-Québec specifically, and I believe I remember hearing that a few ON cities contracted out to them to add sites for a reason that I cannot remember.
Interesting that the Flo app hasn't been updated in kind (at least on iOS) since AddEnergie builds both and Flo is their self-owned network whereas Electric Circuit is a "contract" network that they run for Quebec. Excited for the `Automatic transfer of funds to your account` feature which I...
Sigh, I suppose that would be useful going Mtl <-> Ott, but for Ottawa itself that isn't the most useful location. Fingers crossed for something more central!
@MarcoRP woah it's like your Kingston announcement spurred on live at the Brockville site!
Having V3s at Kingston and Brockville would finally mean there are no "tough" stretches for an SR+ between any of Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal! Very exciting.
We've been house-sitting for my parents this week, and their laundry room is right off the garage, so I've been running the mobile charger's cable through a gap in the door's weather seal and using their dryer outlet (NEMA 14-50). It is able to pull 240v/24a, but what I've noticed is that...
We drove to TO from Ottawa and then road tripped back. There were issues with their system so the whole thing took almost 4 hours. Being able to inspect the car with the sales rep and then road trip home is nice IMO, but maybe get a delivery appointment in the morning in case things take a long...
We have SR+ in Ottawa (plus we live in an apartment so no daily charging) and it's been totally fine. My partner charges it at work and there is a 50kw CHAdeMO beside our favorite dog park. Trips to Toronto every month, so far no issues but it does add 30-40m to trip time (more if one of the SCs...
I live two blocks from the Ottawa SC. The building beside it looked so much like it would be a sales office, but alas some software company has moved in there. Here's hoping an Ottawa sales location happens!
I really wanted them to install some superchargers there, it would've been SO...
Just want to add in that CHAdeMO at Electric Circuit DCFCs (in Ottawa, Kemptville, etc) as well as PetroCanada and Flo has been rock solid all around, even in the cold gets 45-47kw with a ramp down to 35kw near the end of the pack.
I think the next time we go we'll certainly take 7. We did that on the way home from our delivery day and it worked fine, even without CHAdeMO.
I fully agree! Here's hoping Elon time 2018 == 2020 :)
We live in Ottawa and got the SR+ delivered last month. Things have been a bit mixed.
We live in an apartment. I work from home, but GF works in an office and they have ChargePoints, so we can still do daily charging. Day to day things have been perfectly fine, and the RWD with snow tires has...
The Ottawa location is sorely needed and I’m extremely excited for it. The current location (only one in the city....) is an urban charger deep inside a parking garage downtown, extremely unhelpful.
supercharge.info shows it as temporarily closed... fingers crossed they fix this by upgrading it to v3 and adding some more stalls! But I won’t hold my breath.
I live a few blocks away from the Ottawa service center (corner of Preston and Carling), and it appears they've taken over the adjacent building as well to open a showroom. They put up a Tesla sign outside and have been putting up glass walls and moving in furniture for the past 2 weeks or so. I...
