Occasionally we'll have issues with the phone not connecting to the car properly. It's an inconvenience, but we are still able to drive off once we get inside the car. My issue was yesterday is that while in the car, none of our keys were recognized and we were not able to drive.

Even with 5 people in the car at highway speed, your wh/mi should be no higher than 350. 500 seems too high. My guess is either elevation change, headwinds, or a tire issue are to blame.

The motors are different (and purportedly less efficient) in the performance version. It is definitely NOT more efficient. The real world range of the MYP is way worse than the MYLR. Adding smaller wheels helps this somewhat, but I've never seen a single instance in which someone was able...

Even with the 19" Gemini wheels, you won't get the same real world range as a MYLR with the same 19" Gemini wheels. It will get you closer, for sure, but the MYP is less efficient than the LR so you won't get all the way there.

Look into the Martian MW-03 wheels. Great looking, light, and reasonably priced.

The width and compound of the tire has a much bigger effect on performance than the diameter of the wheel. The 21" Uberturbine wheels are staggered (with 275 in back). Moving to a narrower all-season tire is going to impart a performance penalty, regardless of what the diameter of the wheel...

I drove a '21 LR about 6 months ago and was perfectly happy with the ride (so was my wife). We currently have a '13 MS that rides significantly worse than the new MY LR.

I can't imagine the Mercedes driving all that badly, so it's probably a testament to how well the Tesla drives.

If I got the performance, I would definitely move to 19" or 20" wheels, just for the sake of ride quality and cheaper tires.

As someone with extensive experience on a racetrack (not in a Tesla), i can state without hesitation a Plaid MS would be a terrible car to "learn" track driving on. Way too fast + Way too heavy = serious consequences for failure.

This is what I'm worried about. We are currently driving a 2017 S75 and it drives dramatically better than our 2013 S85. I definitely would not want anything that drove any rougher than our current 2013 car.
