Repair cost guesses for this rear quarter panel?

Dent time. This is from my Model S 2013. I visited one non-Tesla certified shop who didn't want to deal with this. I think it will mean replacing the rear quarter panel. See I could get one on ebay, lightly used, for around $500. But the repair itself...? Any guesses? Also should I...

Is there an update on out of warranty battery replacement cost

Sorry, I hadn’t heard about this. What is this, and how do I know if I have a 400 volt Tesla? Mine is a 2013 model S so I assume it’s probably 400 since I assume that means older models…?

Is there an update on out of warranty battery replacement cost

And that cost you $11k-ish with a 4 year warranty? I’d be satisfied with that. Do we feel like that’s a standard deal you can get from Tesla, or YMMV depending on what battery you end up getting from them…?

    Charging port, need tiny part...

I think you’re right, yes. Although I think there may also be a bit of degraded rubber between the magnet and the door where it was glued…? But I don’t see why I can’t just glue the magnet directly to the door.

    Charging port, need tiny part...

My charge port door on my 2013 Model S has been getting stuck recently. It got really stuck yesterday. I pried it open and noticed what I thought was a piece of rubber that seemed to have either ripped off or gotten stuck where it shouldn't be. Tesla tells me it's the magnet - which I suppose...

Is there an update on out of warranty battery replacement cost

Yeah, those are all very good points. I'm still RWD so the AWD alone is big for me. And the safety features. And the larger battery. And everything else you mention. I guess my point is more to the fact that my Tesla, at almost 9 years old, still feels very very similar in major respects to...

Two Gen 3 chargers, for one Tesla and one non-Tesla…?

I’ve seen variations of this question, but I’m getting a little confused so help me out please. I have a Tesla Gen 3 charger installed at 48 amps on a 60 amp circuit. I now want to install another charger for a non-Tesla EV, ie a car with a J1772 input, and (maybe) PowerShare between the two...

Is there an update on out of warranty battery replacement cost

I have a 2013 Model S85. Had it under extended warranty til last year. 80,000 miles. Battery’s about 15% degraded. I’m amazed how well it’s held up. How the whole car held up. Honestly, if I replaced the battery for $22k, and spent another $1500 on the new infotainment system, it’d almost...

    Infotainment upgrade

Ok, thanks for your thoughts. Has anyone had the issues we described with older computers - issues with navigation, just general old glitchiness - that were solved when upgrading? Although I assume it would be definition solve anything, since the entire thing is being upgraded...

    Infotainment upgrade

Hello TMC! I used to spend a lot of time on this forum many years ago. Good to be back. I've got a 2013 S, VIN around about 10,000. Oldie but goodie. Tesla got in touch to say that my old 3G service would soon be shut down by the cell carriers, so I had to pay $500 to upgrade to 4G to keep...

Rear Facing Seats, bought with my VIN 10,000ish 2013. Like New - used maybe three times just to show we could. $1250 o.b.o. plus shipping. Or pick them up - I'm either in NYC, or some weekends up in the Catskills between Monticello and Binghamton.

Winter Tires question - rolling resistance?

Great thanks for info. While I'm at it - do wheels matter? Should I be looking at something of a particular weight or as long as tire rack says it fits the car, is that good enough? I see some rial lugano's for $189/per. i guess I also need to add TPMS sensors? And what's the deal with...

Winter Tires question - rolling resistance?

I think I'm finally going to get a second set of rims and winter tires for my 2013 Model S 85. I'd been using a different 4WD car in the winter until now, but it just broke down, so screw that old car. I'm trying to decide between just buying the Tesla winter tire package, or getting some used...

    NYC to Watkins Glen Ny?

Any suggestions how how to get from NYC to Watkins Glen NY? I don't see any superchargers listed on the way. I'll be traveling with two small children, so if there were a regular charging station someplace fun for kids, that'd help. Thanks!

    2013 Model S 85 loaded, low mileage

Oh god no - I think it was about $95K. I wasn't actually trying to create a listing, just get on the discussion board to have the conversation about the actual value. I just entered 123456 because I first entered "$1" and then when it created an actual listing I was worried that someone would...

    2013 Model S 85 loaded, low mileage

Really? I see the 70D as an improved 60kw. But the shorter range still seems like a deal breaker, to me, even if it's more than the 60. I guess it's just a matter of what people value. (That's my only concern about selling this car and trading up, which is the plan. The #1 thing for me is...

2013 Model S 85 loaded, low mileage I know that price isn't right - I'm actually asking for help determining a fair price on this. Don't know if I'll get that help, but perhaps there are people here who are willing...? I don't trust Kelley Blue Book - the value it gives me is clearly...

Can anyone point me to good instructions on how to use the touch up paint pens? I have a small nick (from raising the trunk door into a pipe). I tried the pen on it today, immediately botched the job, quickly wiped it off with a paint thinner then quickly washed that away. Clearly I have no...

MA Hotels OUTSIDE of Boston that have EV charging? Any in Maine?

Indigo would have been on my path actually, but I ended up staying at Element Lexington in Lexington MA just off of 95. They have a Chargepoint station here, works great. Hotel is mainly just a nice place to sleep, not much to do right around here, but its quite nice and Eco oriented and they...

App that lists EV charging hotels?

Sure, that would be nice. But does Trip Advisor show hotels on a map the way a charging app would? Yes I want a nice hotel, but I'm at least as concerned about mapping out a route that makes sense, and I'm not sure trip advisor is set up to do that. But yes, if they had the functionality...

App that lists EV charging hotels?

Do any of the EV charging apps filter by "lodging/hotel"? (ie hotels you'd charge at while staying overnight, which for roadtripping seems like a really basic question)? And if not, why the F not? Seems like a very very obvious and relatively easy function, no?

MA Hotels OUTSIDE of Boston that have EV charging? Any in Maine?

    Mobile App feature requests

I'd LOVE the ability to "reset" a charging session and reset the maximum attempted amperage at a given location, via the app. (Ie, if the charge session has a dip in voltage for a moment, the car seems to lower the amperage it attempts to charge at. This happens sometimes when my car is parked...

Question about charging problems at a 120v outlet

I was having trouble finding a short 12 gauge extension cord with a standard 120v plug. So instead I got a 9' 14 gauge, rated up to 1875 watts. (Also got a 3' one in case that fits better.) Is that OK to use to test it out? How about on a permanent basis?

Question about charging problems at a 120v outlet

Thanks for your suggestions. There's a lot to consider here. I'm definitely wondering about the outlet connection since it doesn't seem too secure a connection to me, and the outlet is 4' off the ground, meaning you have to loop the UMC over the outlet (which projects out from the wall) to...

Question about charging problems at a 120v outlet

Question about charging problems at a 120v outlet

I get decent voltage throughout - I've seen it anywhere from 115 volts - 122 volts, after it ramps up to 12 amps. Does that tell me anything about the outlet or line running to it? Its possible the charger is not staying seated in the 120 socket well enough; the guys loop the UMC over the...

Question about charging problems at a 120v outlet

I live in NYC and my parking garage kindly installed a 120 volt outlet for me. (I mainly use the car on the weekends so that's sufficient for me.) I've had a lot of problems charging here, as I outlined in another thread. Briefly, while the car begins charging at 12/12 amps, within a couple...

    Bad experience with flood waters

I wonder if its anything like cell phones when they get wet - in which case I'd leave it unplugged and unused and off for a few days so it can completely dry. And then and only then try to use or charge it. In any case I'd call tesla before doing anything else. - - - Updated - - - Also for...

12 amps down to 5, and a question

That's mostly Greek to me. But to answer an earlier question: I reset the charger tonight. At 12 amps the voltage went down a bit, to about 115 to 119, varying. Is that a big enough voltage drop to indicate anything? For what its worth its 12 hours later now and its still charging at 12...

12 amps down to 5, and a question
