Supercharger - Bryce Canyon City, UT

Great location! We visited Bryce a couple years ago and stayed at the Bryce Canyon Inn in Tropic, UT. They have Tesla destination Chargers there which was great. We charged up to 100% and were able to easily make it up to Green River, via Torrey, Hanksville, and Goblin Valley. Awesome drive!

    Supercharger - Auburn, CA (LIVE 3 Feb 2022, 12 V3 stalls)

I concur. There is a Raley's at the other end of the parking lot, but I've quickly run into the Taco Bell for a bathroom break and purchased a bean burrito to go.

First post…first cross county road trip…a question.

Instead of staying the night in Georgetown, CO, think about driving 15 minutes further to Idaho Springs. It has v3 chargers, a brewery and other restaurants nearby. Charge up to 85%-90%, as you will gain energy driving down hill into Denver.

    Bye, Tesla insurance.

I’m located in California. I was able to cancel via the app (under Account->Insurance, I believe). That’s about all you can do via the app for insurance. I sent Tesla Insurance an email to get a quote for the new car, since hanging on the phone for 2 hours wasn’t going to cut it for me. They...

    Bye, Tesla insurance.

Fortunately, cancellation of the insurance policy was easy, via the Tesla app.

Elon: One-time FSD transfers for purchases in Q3

I took advantage of the FSD trade in offer. I think it ended up being a great deal for us. Originally, I paid $6K for FSD, which was installed on our 2020 MYLR, which was delivered right when the pandemic started (March 2020). We had a VIN in the low 3,000 range, so the car had plenty of panel...

    Bye, Tesla insurance.

I live in California as well and have had the same experience as you. For our new 2023 Model Y, I'm using AAA insurance (which we already have for home, my wife's car, and umbrella insurance). Once I sell the 2020 Model Y (soon), I'll have to cancel the Tesla Insurance on that vehicle...

    Order Process for FSD Transfer

Tesla offered us $27,300 for our 2020 MYLR. Pretty low, so I turned down their offer. I’ll sell it to CarMax or some other place after the FSD is transferred to our new 2023 MYLR, which will be delivered to us on Friday.

Impossible to get quote for insurance on new Model Y

We have Telsa Insurance for our 2020 Model Y for 3+ years now here in California. Next week, we take delivery of a new 2023 Model Y and will sell the 2020 Model. The only way to get a quote on a new policy is to call Tesla Insurance, but hold time are over an hour (or longer). Unacceptable...

Elon: One-time FSD transfers for purchases in Q3

Question for California peeps…We have a 2020 Model Ywith FSD. At the time of purchase there was no Federal 7,500 tax credit or California rebate (now $2,000). Now there is. If we take advantage of the FSD trade in offer, would we get both incentives? Income for us is under $150k.

I installed a system in 2007. Adding additional system now, with 2 PowerWalls. I guess that means I’ll be on NEM 3 in 2027 since my 20 years is almost up.

    255/45-20 Seems perfect on inductions

To those that replaced the OEM 255/40/20 Goodyear tire with a 255/45/20 tire...did you make any other modifications to your car so that the tires don't rub against the wheel well? I'm trying to order the Conti DWS-06 Plus tires in this size via America's Tire (aka Discount Tire) and they tell...

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

We paid about $18K (after rebates) for a 3.2 kW solar system from Solar City back in 2007. We just had our yearly True-up and had to pay about $700. We’ve purchased a Tesla two years ago, and plan to replace our 27 year old gas furnace with a Mitsubishi heat pump system in 2023, and include air...

    255/45/20 vs 275/40/20 on induction

I like the look of the 255/45/20 size tires. I have 26k on my Goodyear tires and will replace them in the next few months with Continental DSW06 Plus since I hear they are consistently quieter and more comfortable than Michelin PS A/S 4. I, located in the San Francisco area, so don’t need to...

Insurance from Tesla vs. Bundled Homeowner's/Automobile

We have AAA for Home, Wife's car (Audi), and Umbrella insurance. I have Tesla insurance for our Model Y. I called AAA and let them know we have a Tesla, with Tesla insurance, and how could we include this into our Umbrella Insurance. They noted this on our policy and increased our Umbrella...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

I live in the SF Bay Area, so 99% of the driving is on dry or wet roads (very little snow/ice driving for me). Of the following tires, which are best for ride comfort, road grip (yet keeping Wh/mile low), and longevity? Both tires sizes are the same (255/45/R20). 1) Continental Extreme...

    255/45-20 Seems perfect on inductions

Great! Enjoy the road. We just finished a 3,300 mile road trip from California to Bryce Canyon and Denver and back. We averaged 307 wh/mile.

    255/45-20 Seems perfect on inductions

The tires look great! How does the kWh/mile compare to the OEM tires? I have 26K on our Goodyears and am looking to replace them before the winter rains (if we get any!).

Aftermarket air suspension for Model Y, what do you recommend?

Can you upload a picture of your car with these wheels? I'm interested in doing the same as you did (downgrade from Induction Wheels to either 19" or 18"). Thanks - Ray

Purchased the "Basenor Tesla Model Y Front and Rear Seat Pad Protector Cushion"

I'm not totally satisfied. Over time, they need more adjustments, and for the costs (at least for us, since we only installed these on the front seats), I wouldn't buy these again.

How happy are you with your Martian wheels?

I’m thinking of replacing my 20” induction wheels on our 2020 LR Model Y with 18” Martian rims.. which tires do you have? I’m located in the SF Bay Area and am looking for All Season tires.

Solar Generation amount differs between PG&E and Telsa app

Thanks again everyone. You are correct...we have no battery backup. I understand this much better than I did an hour or so ago! I think I may just play around with charging the car during different times (overnight, or during solar generating hours), since the rate from PG&E is the same from...

Solar Generation amount differs between PG&E and Telsa app

Thanks for the responses. This makes sense now. So, would it be better for me to charge the car and/or run the dishwasher during solar generating hours (sunny days, between 8am and 4pm?) We're currently on the TOU-C plan, with peak hours being between 4pm and 9pm. Or, should we continue with...

Solar Generation amount differs between PG&E and Telsa app

Our solar panels (originally installed by Solar City about 15 years ago), have been maintenance free since installation. However, I'm not sure if something needs to be looked at now, or if there may be an issue with the PG&E meter. We have a smaller solar system, and use more electricity than...

Purchased the "Basenor Tesla Model Y Front and Rear Seat Pad Protector Cushion"

I installed the two front seats and they feel very comfortable. Wife also approves of her passenger seat. Color matches very well. Installation was a bit tricky. The YouTube video is helpful, but move the seats forward (not back, as in the video). I used a cut up clothes hanger to thread the...

    Returning/selling MYLR?

“…looks like you were averaging 300-350 Wh/mi at average speeds of around 75mph for the most part. Is that fair? Did you find yourself stopping every 2 hours or so, and did the range estimate ever differ significantly from what you achieved despite keeping a reasonable speed?” Correct, plus...
