The biggest reason to get it is if you're going to keep the car for 3+ years. That's because if you buy FSD Tesla will upgrade your hardware for free as it's updated. If you skip FSD then a year or two from now when the new FSD hardware (3.5?) is out, you'll have to pay $$$ to get it. It hasn't...

Driver side rear fender also appears to be different based because of the updated charge port– so retrofit seems unlikely. The new headlights however might just bolt on?

Now that the new refresh is out, looks like the Plaid badges we saw at launch are now shipping on cars– Does anyone know if Tesla is going to retrofit these or send for free to Plaid owners who have the text "P-L-A-I-D" badge?

I've had dozens of high performance cars and many Porsches which I've tracked and the Tesla Plaid is objectively the best car ever made, and the best daily driver of all time.

Mysteriously lighting one Plaid on fire and hyping it up seems like a great stunt for another vehicle manufacturer who wants to capitalize on FUD and gain marketshare... IE Ford, VW, Lucid, etc... There wasn’t much hype about the rash of BMW fires...

I heard they are refunding all the plaid+ deposits ($1000) in a separate transaction. When converting to Plaid the deposit is only $100. So the $1000 order fee is to compensate for the difference

One thing to note on deliveries– Tesla usually times their shipments so they arrive to both east and west coast at the same time. So beyond production batches (color, trim, etc), where you're located will impact the perceived delivery. I know West Coast/California cars just sit at Tesla until...

Be careful changing your order, I've read previous account of SAs that can't change it to the previous price if you've reconfigured your car at all. They make it sound like a one way street

Awesome guys, same here! One more thing to make sure your SA changes is the increased cost of white interior. Your MVOA should have the older $1500 price locked in. My updated res as of today shows $10k FSD and $2k White interior fee

Totally agree, that's what feels most fair– honor the original $119k price and $8k FSD, and throw in a free bottle of Tesla tequila for our troubles. I spoke with a lot of other angry Plaid+ reservation holders at the event we're not alone, several of them said that's how Tesla could make it...

@MarcG let us know what you come up with, I'm in the Bay Area too. Would you consider switching your Plaid+ reservation and paying the increased price for the Plaid if they threw in the FSD for free?

One other option at the new higher price would be for them to offer to activate FSD for free since it's roughly the same cost as the price increase and costs them nothing to turn on

My Tesla guy said the Plaid+ is not officially cancelled and is still on the website... and that the "best" way to convert is to cancel reservation on Plaid+ and start a new order for a Plaid with non-refundable $100

Cross-country roadtrips with lots of camping at national/state parks– not's not always easy or convenient to find rooms/hotels, and it's quite comfortable if you get the Tesla setup right inside. Also $250/night adds up quickly if you're planning multi-month trips...

Can someone who has received their 2021 Performance please verify the 0-60 time? A lot of us are watching to see if it's quicker than the 2020 models or if they just changed the marketing

I slept in my model 3 for a couple weeks using a Thermarest pad and sleeping bag however I've updated to an Exped Megamat Duo 10 it's the way to go– it easily rolls up and fits in the under trunk storage compartment and is super comfortable
