Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

Agree on the regen, its weird every time driving other people's cars, and I almost always exit them while leaving them running lol. I hold my hands either at 10 - 2 or at the bottom. If im holding on the bottom I like to position the wheel where I can rest my forearm on my thigh. And in that...

    Snippiness 2.0

You are the instigator with LITERALLY every single one of them... every one of those 20, you are the one that threw the first punch. It appears you have turned into this guy - What is acceptable in the world of disagree? What happened to this decree you made? And let me quote YOU - I am no...

    Snippiness 2.0

Are you serious? You are the one that went down the entire post and disagreed with EVERY SINGLE post I made. I disagreed with yours way later! If you go willy nilly disagreeing with people for no reason and not simply moving on since you have nothing constructive to add... then I dont see how...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

You nailed it right on the head. Same resolution, different screen sizes. So pixel density is much worse on S than 3/Y. Everyone has their preferences. But I prefer all this stuff on the right display. The nav being on the left of the cluster is almost always blocked by the wheel and/or my hands.

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

I don’t think anyone is fooled by cost cutting design. This is why they are cheaper cars. But they did it well, like apple does with their products. Minimalism should not be always looked as a bad thing. Slick is often synonyms with minimalist, and people like slick things, outside of Tesla...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

I have to disagree. Unless they improved the screen quality in S since 2018 the Y has a better screen tech wise (pixel density etc). And the huge screen of the S doesn’t show any extra info, in fact it shows less info as it’s split between two screens, so your eyes are darting all over the place...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

believe me, I know exactly what you mean. Ive been driving a bit over 20 years (not anywhere close to your 40), but i felt exactly the same way, and driving the Y for a few days was a bit weird. But driving only Y for a few weeks and nothing else, you are right, you will totally get used to it...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

Do you own a 3 or a Y? I felt exactly the same way until I drove a Y as a daily for a few weeks. Now going back to S I feel like the info on the cluster display would have been better positioned on the center display. Wheel/hands gets in the way.

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

nah, not trying to convince myself, I’m glad I got a Y over S (Even if I had the insane performance of P100D I feel like I’d be disappointed with the interior compared to newer M3 and MY design). I think it just comes down to MS just needing a refresh. main goal of my post was to encourage...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

And read my post man. Its a 75D, do you really think I was expecting it to go faster than P100D? no. I just compared it to my MY. 99% of the post is about interior design. Driving in LA to/from work your 75D and P100D are going to equally move at 10 miles per hour through LA traffic. Interior...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

Agreed, like I said in original post, MS just feels really dated after driving MY for a while. A refresh would be a huge improvement in my opinion. I do not agree with your IKEA statement though. By that measure Apple is IKEA and Android based devices are luxury brands. Like I said, I was...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

I dont think we are talking about acceleration here. At least I am not. I am talking about sitting in a parked car and it feeling like nothing special, while sitting in MY feels futuristic. Obviously 75D is not comparable to P100D in acceleration. This is why Im not talking about raw...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

I will admit I am pretty ignorant on the MS. But I was under the impression that the interior is pretty much the same on all of them? Does Raven have a completely different layout inside? Thats my main disappointment in MS. Obviously I dont expect 75D to perform like P100D lol. So are you...

Just got Model S as a loaner while my MY is in service for factory defects. MY is a better car!

TLDR: In my opinion MY is the best Tesla yet! So if you are on the fence, get the Y! I expected to be WoWed by MS, afterall its much more expensive! I got a 2018 75D (yeah not Performance) as a loaner and wow, ive never been in a Model S before, and I must say, I was expecting more. The seats...

    Tire replacement

Can a nail hole not be repaired just like any other tire? Ive gotten plemty of screws and nails in my tires over the years (on non Teslas) and it was usually $15 to $20 and about 30 minutes of time for the repair, including everything except tax. Are Tesla tires not repairable from nail holes...

Everyone that has ever taken delivery of Model Y, are you louvers not actuating either?

that’s what I’m trying to find how they work. On model 3 they are closed when car is parked. Keeps critters out lol

Everyone that has ever taken delivery of Model Y, are you louvers not actuating either?

I posted this a week ago in another sub forum, it seems like there is very little traction over there compared to here. These louvers are almost always closed on M3 when its parked. Ive checked out numerous M3's and they are actuating there (closed when parked). Ive checked out over a dozen...

Anyone have experience with Spectrum Collision (So Cal) for fixing up MY's factory defects?

I got my first appointment to address factory defects in a few days. The Tesla service center itself does not do paint fixes. I have a smudge on one door (black color). They said they use Spectrum Collision for this type of work. Im curious if anyone has used them and what the experience has...

Tesla Will Lease You A Model Y For $499 Per Month

Id use at most 2.2% APR for today, thats what I was offered on MY, but ended up just paying cash. But this also assumes zero down payment. Add those in and run the math again. Also consider what happens after 3 years. You still need a car right? You now need a new lease or financing (and if...

Tesla Will Lease You A Model Y For $499 Per Month

I dont think you understood what I said. With the numbers that were being floated around, you can finance the car for 3 years, own it, re-sell it, and make out with more money than you would have by leasing. In the end you end up paying less. So your depreciating asset depreciated less through...

Tesla Will Lease You A Model Y For $499 Per Month

You are better off buying the Y and selling it in 3 years. The other person already did the math for you... and using your numbers. You are better off having bought the 3 to now trade in. You lose more money via Lease after 3 years than buy and sell after 3 years even with your numbers.

    MY price reduction

When we say that we want Tesla to do something that other dealers do, we get a response that "Tesla is not a dealer, they are a tech company, so dont expect things to be same as dealerships". When we ask Tesla to do something we get a response that "Others dealers dont do it, why should Tesla"...

    MY price reduction

Agreed.I was just replying to the straight up comment that is used way too often on these forums lately that you always agree and pay the price listed and there is no recourse. There is a recourse. In terms of Tesla its 7 days, but even then based on posts here they refused to guarantee the...

    MY price reduction

Except that is a completely untrue statement. Most things you buy, especially electronics have a price guarantee if you flip the receipt and read the fine print. Usually it’s 30 days. Tesla just doesn’t have to do any of that because they have no competition.

Do your front intake shutters (louvers) actuate (close) ?

Please keep an eye out as your conditions change to see if they ever close. Id love to know of a way to test these when they are open, something to make them cycle close.

Do your front intake shutters (louvers) actuate (close) ?

So, I didnt even know this was a thing until yesterday. They are located at the front, under the "nose" of the car. Where some aftermarket front plate holders attach. There are 2 of them, left and right. And supposedly they should be closed 90% of the time to allow for better aerodynamics while...

    Typical Battery Charge at Delivery

Mine was around 80% Your inspection and paperwork will probably take you at least an hour, you can request they charge it up for you, they should have at least level 2 charging (30miles per hour added). Alternatively you can drop by a supercharger (you should anyways to test out the car to...

Anyone have dust/particles in sealed compartment between windshield and cameras?

Gave my Y its first wash yesterday. Noticed there are some small particles in the sealed cavity where the front cameras are. Anyone encounter this before? These are all under windshield. Dont think they affect anything, and you cant see them unless you look for them. But just curious if anyone...

price drop $3000 vs 2 years of subscription of premium connectivity

Wonder if you would feel the same way if you only got to drive the car 1 day before price was dropped. Meaning all you would have to do is not drive for 1 day and get $3k in your pocket? Much harder pill to swallow.
  37. A

price drop $3000 vs 2 years of subscription of premium connectivity

I had the car for 9 days before price change. I would personally be fine if it was over a month until price change. So a 30 days price guarantee. But then again, it doesnt have to be that drastic, it can go one of three ways: 1. Straight up 30 day price guarantee. If price dips, refund 2...

price drop $3000 vs 2 years of subscription of premium connectivity

I agree with you, but only in the multiple months, year examples. People talking here have had the car for a week or so. I do think they are entitled. They pretty much got gauged. Clearly the car was sold to them above its actual market value. They are early adopters, the company is built on...

price drop $3000 vs 2 years of subscription of premium connectivity

2 Years of Premium connectivity (at $10 a month) is $240. To make it equivalent to thhe $3k it would pretty much have to be a lifetime (24 years) of premium connectivity. Supercharger miles always expire after 6 months, and each 1000 is worth around $100, so they would have to give 30,000...

price drop $3000 vs 2 years of subscription of premium connectivity

Difference between this and model 3. is that with model 3 they would drop the price and also remove/change things about the car. So people that paid more ended up with actually different cars... with this. no changes are made to the car.

    Time from VIN to delivery?

VIN to delivery is random. Some get a VIN then a car 2 weeks later. I got a VIN then a car delivered less than 24 hours later. Depends on when during the quarter is. If someone refused delivery (without looking at the car but for other reasons COVID etc, so the VIN becomes available and you...

    Model Y price reduction

Doesn’t really help us end users though. Not like we can unlock performance on those cars that are sw locked. And I mean this in regards to the justification for paying $3k more.

Found windshield, rotor and wiper assembly needs to be replaced

the quarter rush doesn’t start a week before it ends. There is a push the entire time to get as many cars out as possible. They don’t spend less time on cars at end of quarter. They rush them the entire time. i got quarter end, 17xxx vin and it’s for the most part great, has issues but not the...

many ways around that the 12 month restriction. And regarding 7 day/1000 miles... did you not read what I said? It was the same policy when that tweet went out. I did pay cash, I have other means of getting around while waiting, plus right now it sounds like orders placed today are arriving...
