Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Well Tesla have offered me a whopping £8500 under my settlement figure, that's that idea out of the window ;)

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

I assume charge points on the cars are weather sealed so that you don’t have to worry about charging in the rain? Just submitted a trade in value request for my current car so we’ll see what that brings up. Phoned Tesla Manchester yesterday to find out whether they can settle my current PCP...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks very much. I've not looked into the different chargers yet, I've only seen the Tesla one, but having something with a fixed cable to prevent cable theft would be great.

Useful info, thanks. Haha, that'd be me too ;)

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks, yeah I appreciate that you wouldn't do this just trying to get my head around the 'conversion' from the fossil fuel way of thinking ;) That's something I'd have to look in to should I decide that the M3 is for me, home chargers. I also need to find out whether Tesla would take my...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

So that would mean you could have got a theoretical range of 359 miles? (75000W battery capacity/210 Wh/mile)

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Cool thanks. I think I'm starting to get my head around it. In Fuel terms the M3 has a 'tank' of 75kWh therefore if charging at 7.5kW it would take 10 hours to completely charge the battery from 0, and if charging at a theoretical 75kW it would complete a full 100% charge in an hour...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

That's great thanks, makes more sense now :) I've been trying to think of it like a car, for example I know that my current car takes approx 73 litres to fill it. I was thinking if the Model 3 has say a battery capacity/full charge of 200kW and you charged at 100kW/h then it would take 2 hours...

    Arrggghhh I'm so confused lol.

Thanks. Ahh yes, all the different things you have to consider ;)

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks, very informative. So for non Tesla chargers DC (CCS) is the one you want ideally? On a side note can you 'haggle' when buying Teslas or is the price and APR fixed?

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks, just had a quick look and does appear there are several in my area. I assumed the KW/h was the charge ‘speed’ but that’s the cost is it? I’ve no idea what your last two paragraphs mean lol.

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

I have yet another question ;) Can you use non Tesla Superchargers and if so is there a difference in price and charge time? How do you locate them? If I google map supercharger it just appears to show me the tesla ones.

Cool thanks. You’ll all be glad to hear I don’t have any more questions,....... for now ;)

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks. Sounds like I’d have to change my driving style as I’m one of those that starts ‘coasting’ quite early when approaching red lights etc, mostly so I don’t always have to a complete stop but I guess it dies save on brake wear too. If the regen is that ‘aggressive’ does it trigger the...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks. I heard the regen braking can be ‘significant’ but you can turn this off so it coasts like a ‘normal’ car?

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

I know what else I meant to ask. What are the service intervals and costs, how quickly do they go through tyres (sensible everyday driving) and do the servicing costs and general maintenance (brake pads etc) cost more with the performance model compared to the long range?

    Thanks, good to know.

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks all, very interesting. Can you limit the charge then so it stops charging when 90% full? What I’d do if I got one would be to leave it on charge overnight and of course I’d not be able to control how much charge went in unless it had an auto cut off.

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Why a it best to keep the battery between 10-90% charged and not charge it to 100%?

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Planning routes is not a problem for me, having to plan an alternative route just so I pass a charger is more of an issue. But what I was meaning is, let’s say I have several months of driving no more than 30 miles, often doing 2-3 mile runs, if I then went on a long run would I potentially get...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks. Whilst I appreciate that you don't get good efficiency with short trips (just like Petrol and Diesel cars) does this affect the battery in a negative way, ie shorten it's life or anything? If you went from doing lots of short journeys to then doing one long journey would you get good...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

No I haven't tbh, I didn't realise you could take the aero covers off until it was mentioned earlier. TBH if it was a lot of hassle to change I'd just put up with it. I do wonder who thought the wood was a good idea though, doesn't seem in keeping with the rest of the car imo. 90% of the time...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks again for all of the replies. OK so the window wipers may be OK (most of the time) but at least there's a manual override. TBH the ones in my X5 aren't great and often go like the clappers for no reason. Of more concern is the mileage folk are getting. One of the reasons I've not gone...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Thanks for all of the quick responses, much appreciated. It's a shame you can't change the trim but at least I can change the wheels, could anyone hazard a guess how much the sport wheels affect range? I'm guessing it would be similar to the performance model? Are the interior trims 'user'...

Considering the Model 3 and have a few queries.

Hi, Sorry if these questions have been asked elsewhere but I couldn't find them and certainly not all in the same place. So I'm considering a Model 3 due to the 0% BIK that's coming into play in April this year and have some questions. 1. When building the car online there's very few options...
