Drive-In Swapping Stations is a novel idea and many years away. Network expansion will reduce the need to swap while allowing increased battery degradation before a new battery is required. TMS5043 45k miles.
90-second battery swapping is a proven yet novel idea at this time. My humble intuition tells me that 'swap stations' will come after Gigafactory and 500k production models. As of today, when a new battery is required...this happens at a service center.

Construction has begun.
The plans have been submitted and approved, location confirmed. The permit fees have not been paid and therefore no construction has begun. Europe must be getting all the action.?
Spoke to a guy at Indio City Hall today and he stated that the plans were submitted on Dec. 19, 2013 on a Rush basis. As of today the fees have not been paid. He showed me the plans. Six chargers will be located behind the Subway at the Indio Towne Center. No construction. No markings on...
