Hansshow premium audio upgrade for 2023 M3SR

Interesting, thanks. I've decided I'm not fussed about the harness to renable the 'dud' speakers, however I really want more bass to fill the range in a bit better. How did you wire the sub please? Power (as long as it's not too hungry) looks easy enough, but where and how did you tap in for...

Tesla Model 3 RWD 2023 - Audio Upgrade

has anyone fitted this kit? I was looking towards the woofer and dash speaker kits, but man it's going to nearly £800 for essentially two speakers, two woofers, and two tweeters... I think I'm going to just deaden the doors and cards and go from there.

Hansshow premium audio upgrade for 2023 M3SR

Thanks for that. I'm not after crazy bass with some huge 12" sub enclosure; just want better quality with more of the sound range covered. I'm currently leaning towards to the focul kits, video below. Just not sure how I could implement a sub into that without splicing cables

Hansshow premium audio upgrade for 2023 M3SR

Apologies if this has been asked before; I've not yet caught up on the whole thread., I'm reading rumours in comments about these being 'disbaled' by Tesla when discovered, but I'm not really sure how they could? It's just analogue speaker wiring? I'm looking at options to upgrade the audio in...

Can someone drive your car if unlocked remotely?

I wonder how bad it would be if TeslaFi was breached all user data stolen. TeslaFi doesn't store the password though, and relies on a token as you say.

12v socket - Max continuous current?

Not actually fiddling, just muddling over an idea in my head. Can anyone tell me what the maximum safe continuous current draw is on the 12v 'cigaretter ligher' socket in the centre console? Could it safely draw 10A continuously?

    Fellow car cleaning obsessives...

As with anything car cleaning, you want to use the least aggressive option that does the job. Start with just blasting them with the pressure washer. That won't remove them up all, unless they're fresh and on a protected car. Try a good snow foam or a citrus (wax safe) pre wash, or both.

    Company Car Tax and HMRC

My codes came through last month. I say codes, I received three letters all within a couple of weeks of eachother. I've just logged in to Gov.uk to check code and car allowance, and they haven't even updated my car... I picked up my Model 3 on 6th March and handed the 530e back on 12th. Shall...

    Sentry mode borked?

Same here. Since the sentry/dash viewer update arrived, mine has been unreliable. A good 40% of the clips are corrupted. The show as unavailable in the car and have tiny <500kb file sizes.

    Walk away door lock

I haven't spent any time troubleshooting it yet, but I'm pretty sure my honk on lock isn't work despite bing on. I'll double check it's on for all profiles and will try the adjust and save trick.

Thank heavens for the weekly shop..!

I'm just going to chime in and say that the ones that are following the rules are the ones that are suffering. The idiots that are congregating at parks/parties are not suddenly going to mature or wisen up just because a rule changes. Things are just going to get tougher/worse before they get...

    Solved: wind noise

I have about 8" left of some self adhesive window draft foam tape stuff, pictured. Wonder if that, with a layer of wax to repel any water ingress, would work well to block the air at the base of the A pillar?

    Solved: wind noise

Hope you don't mind my resuing your image, but I have a similar issue. On mine, the external rubber bits are wonky and bulge out away from the glass: Wonder if a hair dryer might reshape it.

New M3P Owner - Washing Advice

You can wash your car on a fiver or £5k. What you spend and to what level you take it is entirely up to you. Personally, I'd only pay someone else to do it if I was minted and could afford the several hundreds required to do a full paint correction detail and ceramic coating. For me, I have...

Wind noise above 50mph - pass door area, is this the issue?

They're not consistent then. I know I've come from a posh 2017 5 series, but my model 3 is rediculously loud, especially over 50mph. Only picked it up 3 weeks ago.

    Voice control is pants

That is not voice recognition at fault (except for the Howarth-House bit). This looks like the car not knowing what to do with command which suggests server/connectivity issues again. It's a bit like Google Assistant, but imagine it only works if your phone has an Internet conenction. Offline...

    Lockdown State Of Charge

If we're leaving the cars parked for potentially three months, continually charging and discharging is of no benefit. Instead, you're just putting more cycles on the battery. You're best leaving it plugged in, charge level set to 50% and use something like Sentry mode to get the charge level to...

    Voice control is pants

I let my girlfriend drive it and from the passenger side I pressed the mic button and said "my driver is cold". It adjusted her hvac temp and put on her seat. I was expecting a terrible VC experience but thus far it has been great. If it suddenly goes bad than we can assume server issues again.
  32. planehazza

    Voice control is pants

Voice control works well for me. It allows me to do a lot more than the voice control in the BMW before, but it's not as clever. I'll say "Call Deborah mobile" and it'll find Deborah and prompt if I want to call her mobile or house phone. Both Google and BMW know that "call Deborah mobile"...

    Creaky Window Seals

Thanks for that. I saw your posts in the other thread. I feel bad ordering it from Amazon at this time, and it's not like I'm in the cart much, so it might have to wait for a while. We'll see.

    Creaky Window Seals

Reapplication is fine with me, as it seems to be a simple 5 min task. It's my own fault. I introduced the squeaks by trating all the seals to the autoglym vinyl/rubber care stuff. Nativity on my part having not had frame less windows before now.

    Creaky Window Seals

Yeah I saw that thanks. It seems that the formula changed from silicone based to water based and it's no longer as good. Getting ahold of it is a bit tricky too, so I wonder if the Sonax stuff is just the same stuff?

Fairy liquid is harmful to rubber if I remember correctly. I've found the thread I was looking for. The stuff that many talk about is Gummi Pflege Stift ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gummi-Pflege-Rubber-Stick-Postage/dp/B007TNOQDI ). Might see if I can find that anyway. I wonder if that was...

    Creaky Window Seals

So I spent some time cleaning and polishing all the glass yesterday, and then today I've hoovered, washed, and protected all of the interiour, including the shuts and seals. This was with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care (it's all I've got). The end result is that the car looks and smells great...

    Referrals total waste of time

Same for me, but that is likely because the account that was used to order the car was LeasePlans, not mine. So I got 1000 miles for my friend, but not for me. Not that fussed, but it's another lease irritation.

Yeah I guess it's easy for me to say "it's only a button press, in the bottom right", but then I've not experienced total failure of the wipers in torrential rain. I bet that was not fun! There are a lot of features that Tesla to well, and many that, frankly, need a kick up the arse...

Thanks all. What better use of my high risk working from home self isolated social distancing time. HRWFMSISD for short. I find the auto function to be pretty good; at least on par with the BMW it replaced. I've not had a chance to thoroughly clean the glass, and thus far it has only been...

    Wipers

Is it just me, or are the wipers crap? Mine stutter and smear and leave water streaks all over the place. It's like they're severely over due to be replaced, yet the car is a fortnight old. Is its cheap rubber or is it the wash they put in the car?

Thought I'd give 100% charge a go on CCS

It's not exactly the same, but in the RC World, charging Lithium Polymer batteries go through CC and CV phases. CC is contstant current and ramps in lots of amps until ~85%. Then it switches to CV where amps drop down to maintain the per cell voltage and keep the cells balanced. It's probably...
