    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

TBH, I was considering buying one to rent out though I finally found some 3rd-party info on Turo and it sounds like most of the hosts aren't really happy and there is still a significant adverse selection problem with their renters. Plus a lot of reports that Turo's insurance and shady claims...

Installing Wall Connector is better than NEMA 14-50

My NEMA 14-50 connector started melting probably due to 2.5 years of strain from the mobile connector. The electrician let me know that the latest electric code which was adopted where I live shortly after I did the 14-50 install requires the equivalent of GFCI. Now that wall chargers are only...

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

I'm trying to decide between another M3 or a MYP. The price difference between the MYLR and MYP makes the P fairly attractive and the range loss is a lot less than the range loss on the M3P vs M3 LR.

Routes from the Montrose CO Supercharger Station

Great post. The BBQ place at the Aspen charger is a small chain called Home Team from Charleston SC and has great dry ribs. You can also just walk through the hotel and hang out at fire pits at the base of Buttermilk ski area while you charge.

Supercharger - Kremmling, CO - Park Avenue

Kremmling would be fine since that would make it a lot more reliable to make roundtrips Denver-Steamboat with stops in Winter Park or Devils Thumb.

    Supercharger - Idaho Springs, CO

That's strange that Idaho Springs isn't coming up on the nav. I visited that one end of February or first week of March and I had it on my map. I do think you are probably right that there is no preconditioning in this weather anyways since the battery is probably already at optimum temperature...

Winter driving advice, winter tire choices, etc.

So it's time to put my factory All seasons back on and I am trying to decide between a second set of Aero Rims from Ebay for ~$1000 or just going with something cool looking for maybe $800ish? I'm going to leave the snow tires on the OEM rims since range in the winter is more important to me...

    SR+ Rear Heated Seat Upgrade - $300

I actually thought my LR didn't have rear seat warmers until I found the controls a few weeks later. My ski carpool passengers are pretty happy.

    Current Largest Gap

At least in CO, installations have picked up. Idaho Springs went online last week and Wheatride/W. Denver is under construction finally. I think there are some new ones in NE CO as well. I hope the Steamboat one happens soon.

Winter driving advice, winter tire choices, etc.

18'' for best range. I just popped off my shipped tires and mounted my snow tires on the Aero rims. I'll worry about a second set of rims in May. The ones that shipped with mine in December are M&S rated so technically legal in the mountains in CO but a tire rated for 3-Mountain Snowflake is...

Winter driving advice, winter tire choices, etc.

Drove up I-70 from Denver in the snow and Berthoud pass to Winter Park yesterday. Blowing snow from Morrison to Floyd Hill, and nasty traffic until the curve at the bottom. Then weather and traffic started to clear a bit. Berthoud was snow covered and icy. M3 AWD w Toyo Observe Garit KX. Regen...

    Supercharger - Idaho Springs, CO

Sweet, although I finally got my L2 charging in my garage this afternoon but it is nice to know it is there if I need it.

    Tesla makes electricians see $$

I had 3 electricians come by and got 3 different answers most involving a subpanel but the estimates ranged quite a bit and most of them were very inflated given the actual time and materials required. Mr. Electric was priced outrageously and I was definitely not impressed. They seem to be like...

Why don't portable, emergency 10KWh chargers exist yet?

I'd imagine that the economics just favor flatbed tow trucks over any kind of charging truck. Flatbeds can tow any car, not just EVs. The cost of a truck, driver, and their time is the same either way. The difference between the marginal diesel usage to tow you to a supercharger vs to sit there...

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO (Colorado Mills)

I so could have used that this past month but now that my garage is just days away from having L2 charging, I will probably never need this one. Still this and Idaho Springs are going to be a big help for the I-70 travelers because the Silverthorne and Airport ones are not that convenient...

Those dollies are actually brilliantly simple.

    Supercharger - Idaho Springs, CO

It's really pretty similar to if you left the house with 3/4-7/8 of a tank of gas and most of us wouldn't really worry about that. Silverthorne is pretty convenient for Copper/Keystone/Breck/Vail/BC. Idaho Springs will be super nice for Abasin/Loveland/WP or return trips for any of them and...

    Supercharger - Idaho Springs, CO

Sweet. This is the one I want the most. The gap between DIA and Silverhorne is so annoying.

    Current Largest Gap

Also US-40 in CO where rockslides/avalanches have in recent years blocked I-70 for days or weeks at a time. The Tesla Semis are certainly going to need redundant paths during the winter to make them economically viable. Yes, it is important to keep in mind that there is no I-60 and I-50 going...

Snow driving - Traction Control over-aggressive!!

I got Toyo Observe Garit KX. My big issue tended to be in the slush going uphill on that endless ascent curve towards the Eisenhower tunnel. I definitely spun a bit towards the left and had to hit SlipStart a few times when I could not get traction to start moving. Traffic sucks.

Snow driving - Traction Control over-aggressive!!

I took my M3 AWD out in the recent CO storm (really just trying to get home on I70 on Friday) and I was a bit disappointed in my new snow tires too. I was expecting it to be equal or better to my 2004 BMW 325xi given similar weight and size. Switching to Acceleration = Chill and...

Growth of the Electrify America system- over 2000.

Yes, a bit pricey. The new ones near me in CO: $1 plus $0.89/min at 125kW or more, $0.58/min between 125kW and 75kW, $0.21/min at 75kW or less. Pass+ pricing: $0.60/min at 125kW or more, $0.42/min between 125kW and 75kW, $0.15/min at 75kW or less. 40 cents per minute additional if car not...
