    Another rejected model Y

A little reality check here: A well-equipped Chevy Bolt goes for about $44k before any tax incentives. Also, it would appear that the execs at GM agree with me. The new GM Velite 7 eSUV, now being released in China, has the Buick tri-shield symbol as will the next compact EV made for the...

    Another rejected model Y

OK, I'm obviously a snob, but if the badges on the Bolt said "Buick" or "Cadillac" not "Chevy" I'd purchase one. It's a great little car but IMHO GM made a mistake by offering it through their entry-level division when it's not a cheap vehicle. BTW, that color red with the aluminum accented...

    Another rejected model Y

That is absolutely not true! We have owned four Lexus vehicles and the build quality and QA was excellent, fit and finish essentially flawless. My eldest daughter purchased a Buick SUV a couple of years ago and the fit and finish were also superb. OK, Tesla may not be able yet to match the...

Unless Tesla solves the MY QC issues, I'm looking for options

Since I saw the first Tesla Roadster I always assumed a Tesla was in my future. The MY appeared to fit my needs nicely, a bit more room than the M3 and a much better value than the MS or MX. But with the reported QC issues and the sometimes less than stellar customer service response, I'm...

Model Y Delivery - My Full List of Build Issues - How Serious Are These?

After hearing numerous similar build quality issues with the MY I postponed delivery of mine a few months. If the QC doesn't Improve I'll be looking for alternatives and let Tesla keep my $100. Teslas are not cheap or entry-level cars, even the M3 and MY, the lack of QC is inexcusable. I'd...

    Electric boat

The German company Torqueedo (among others) makes a wide range of electric marine propulsion units all the way from their small electric outboards for kayaks up to the "Deep Blue" and Pod drive systems that can take the place of large outboards or gas or diesel inboards. I have been using their...

    Model Y wheel options

Any planned finishes other than black?

IMHO the Model Y needs more interior color options

I still plan to go ahead with the MY purchase even though the options/configurations list is very limited. Fortunately a few aftermarket companies are stepping in to fill the void by offering interior upgrades (seat covers, wraps, etc.) to allow a bit more variety.

    Model Y wheel options

One major consideration when comparing "practicality" is the replacement cost of tires. Judging from the prices I've seen at the local Costco tire center, low profile tires are generally considerably more expensive than comparable ones with higher sidewalls. Tire width to me is no big issue and...

    Model Y wheel options

I've reserved a MY with the induction wheels, but I may change to the standard wheels before finalizing the purchase. Hopefully at some point the M3 19" sport wheels become a MY option. IMHO they are the most practical and will look the best with the red exterior paint.

    X or Y?

I have a similar question: I was one of the first to deposit on a Model 3 but let it lapse after a test drive. The 3 drove well, but with no hatchback and limited cargo room it was not practical for my needs. I'm still driving my trusty old ICE Lexus SUV. Now the dilemma: to purchase a good...

    Used Model X vs. a Y

I was one of the first to deposit on a Model 3 but let it lapse after a test drive. The 3 drove well, but with no hatchback and limited cargo room it was not practical for my needs. I'm still driving my trusty old ICE Lexus SUV. Now the dilemma: to purchase a good low mileage Model X 90 now or...

IMHO the Model Y needs more interior color options

I'm ready to reserve a Model Y dual motor long range in red but I'm disappointed with the two interior color choices. Hopefully Elon will at least offer the same cream interior option as the Model X once production ramps up. The red/cream combo would look very attractive. That's the color...
