Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Ok I can confirm that once service resolved the flash storage issue and I was able to upgrade to .44.* the homelink problem is completely solved. Same with 2022.4.* WOOHOO amazing how much better the experience is when you arent fighting with the car or using an old school opener.

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Oh yeah I get that Parking Assist bug too. It cracks me up. Don't worry car, I wasn't planning to park when going 65mph :)

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

I am still experiencing the multiple signaling problem with 32.22 (sometimes its not just double but as many as 4 times, you can watch the garage door dance - also i can see in the garage door log that it received multiple actions) ALL THE TIME. I can't upgrade yet due to a problem with an...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

So far its not happening for me post replacement with the new plaid parts post summer, other than the feel of stiff tires in the winter. I did slightly change my driving habits. I drive in standard, but if i intend to hard accelerate i drop to low first.

Minor rattling/creaking on acceleration/braking? (NOT shudder)

Sure, but I don’t have a ton more details since Tesla coordinated the whole thing. I just have what they told me.

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

All double (or triple) signaling from both manual or gps fenced auto trigger. Sometimes it looks like responsiveness but I can see in the door logs that it’s just gets repeated signaled so fast it cancels

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

I’m still having the problem on 32.22. I thought it had gotten better on a past update but it was just being erratic. It’s really getting annoying.

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

It might just be in my head, but with the 2021.24 release, the double signaling problem so far seems to occur less frequently. Although it does still appear to be happening.

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Yeah you are probably right it should create havoc across the board
  10. N

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Sure but perhaps some manufactures are more tolerant of repeated signaling within in a certain window and so some would see it and some wouldn’t.

Think of it as an undocumented low ride mode:

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

Should we start comparing. Can everyone post their garage door model, tesla model, and firmware version? I just applied the 2021.24.3 update and hoping for a lucky fix - doubt it though.

Model S Refresh: Homelink multiple signals?

I also have observed this exact behavior over the last couple of months (intermittent reversing) and it worked fine since I got the car (Dec 2019) - 2020 MXP. I have a liftmaster 8500w, which is a subsidiary of chamberlain. I had been wondering if it was the garage door opener itself, since it...

Fingers crossed it's fixed! I am driving in standard, so far no issues, similar mileage as you on the new shafts.

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

According to EPC the S Plaids share the same part number as the X, pre-plaid raven S gets the parts he listed. Both are new parts post SB.

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

Those are the correct part numbers from the most recent service bulletin: https://cdn.motor1.com/pdf-files/sb-21-39-001-replace-front-drive-unit-halfshafts.pdf And they are for the S.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I took a look at the MME list, and aside from the many horror stories, it looks like they are continuing the bad practice of fixing things with direct field patches (in some cases engineers being flown in) vs. OTA updates. Scaling their operation is going to be painful. I feel bad for the owners.

Well they did promise to get it to him blazingly fast!

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

The sad thing is that Ford has an awesome racing arm, but for some reason, they are very fickle with embracing it, at least for an extended period of time. If I were them I would have done an electric GT. If they would have gone all-in on performance, people would look the other way on a lot of...

Phase 2 is to pivot to the Taurus-E, EVs for those that have given up on life.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Cool. Not only did they simulate the smell of a gas vehicle, they also simulate a traditional Ford powertrain failure and service experience. Now all they need is the used car shops full of Mach-Es :)

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Guys you have it all wrong. What really matters to consumers isn’t reliability or revolutionary changes; what they really want is gas scented perfume.

Minor rattling/creaking on acceleration/braking? (NOT shudder)

Hey @Josephponline, did you ever get a resolution on this. I had a flex sound creaking issue that sounded like it was coming from the passenger side dash. Basically if the acceleration or deceleration was enough of a change in motion you would hear it. In my case this was fixed right before...

How often does your suspension adjust?

Interesting I am at auto as well. Are you on 2021.4.18.2? I feel like in my case it was doing this before this update. How about you?
  28. N

How often does your suspension adjust?

I can't remember if it's always been like this, or if this is some new behavior, but I noticed recently the car raising or lowering at stop lights more frequently than I thought in the past (but I all really not sure). At first I thought it must be going back to standard after higher speeds...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

The concise version of my spammy posts: if you would like a disposable car, by all means get a Mach-E. If you want something innovative that changes how you think about a car, get a Tesla.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

The thing I think people forget about is that EVs are very software centric, and if there is one thing non Tesla brands have excelled at, it's their inability to produce working software. Not only is it usually incomplete garbage that looks cobbled together from 10 different team's that don't...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I forgot to mention, the funny thing is after lousy service they would spend 15-20 minutes trying to strong arm you into voting top score on their survey. I made the mistake once about being honest I wasn't going to do that, and then they bring out the service manager who skips over the part of...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Ford service is the worst of any brand I ever owned. Every time I went they were completely clueless and apathetic. The one exception is Ford’s SVT phone line was good but they shut that down while I was an owner. I know everyone gives Tesla service a hard time, but all things considered they...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

It’s kind of like those crappy chips a hoy chocolate chip cookies. They look like a chocolate chip cookie, and I guess maybe they are slightly cheaper, but they taste nothing like what it’s supposed to. The issue with all of the alternatives is they do not offer the same experience: only a poor...

    Towing with new 22” turbines

If you really want to push your luck you could get the towing 20s in sonic carbon. :) https://shop.tesla.com/product/model-x-20_-sonic-carbon-slipstream-wheel-and-tire-package

    Towing with new 22” turbines

Haha. Does it help if they can be stored in style? Tire Tote
  36. N

    Towing with new 22” turbines

@Dionysius another solution would be to get the 22s for standard driving and get an extra set of 20s (or even 19s) when you tow. The nice thing about that is you probably have to replace the lower profile tires less often, since you would not be putting the towing stress on them. Mobile service...

What tread depth do you replace your tires at? (and 2 or 4 at a time)?

Ah ha I just noticed they are reporting in mm and I am measuring in 32nds

What tread depth do you replace your tires at? (and 2 or 4 at a time)?

I smoke them every day! (Kidding) I don't drive in chill (hate chill), but I also drive fairly normal. Occasionally punch it, although that was mostly when the car was brand new. The roads in my area have been pretty beaten up the last two winters.
  45. N

What tread depth do you replace your tires at? (and 2 or 4 at a time)?

Thanks for the info. I am under 270 atm with warmer weather. With winter I can get into the 400s if its anywhere near or below zero. Wish I had the plaid & Y's heat pump :) Although no complaints. I run the same tires year round. I felt like I had decent traction in the snow for two winters so...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Yes. It says "Pay Type: Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty". I think a bunch of others had it covered under warranty. That sucks man :( IMO what's the point of ESA if it doesn't cover TSBs? Is there another SC you can go to?
  48. N

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Just to add to my last reply on this point. My SC appointment went awesome, even though it was for some reason was acting way more subtle than normal when I got there (heat maybe?). In any case the tech confirmed hearing it and feeling it in the pedal and they performed the TSB part...

Now that model s It seems widespread. Now that the model s plaid is out, and I can see entries in the parts catalog, it does look like the parts they are using in the plaid S are identical to those in the TSB for the fix for all raven model s'. (420113-00-B 1420119-00-B for both). Assuming...

What tread depth do you replace your tires at? (and 2 or 4 at a time)?

I just got a service invoice with a tread depth of 4 on the fronts and 6 on the rears. I was kind of surprised it says replacement recommended: "no". What tread depth do you guys get them replaced? I am at only 10k miles so I guess I will be down to 3 in another 1K miles. I guess at 3...
