    Supercharger - Newburg, PA

Charged here yesterday. Nice spot and incredibly easy on and off the turnpike. Couple things- 1)yes, I saw a horse and buggy as I went across the road to the lot. 2) go slow in and out of the lot. There is a shale transition between the road and the lot- it’s a bit rough. 3) the...

    Battery Health

Small update on my end. I set up a service appointment in Lancaster PA to have it checked for the less than expected range on day 1 with 3 miles on the odometer. It has had some interesting developments leading up to the appointment. I noticed it would hit 100%, show 264m and still be...

Auto presenting handles & soft close doors from Hansshow

I sold my model S to get into a 3 to get away from auto presenting door handles lol. It didn't matter which version I had, they would fail - from the control board, to the paddle gear!

    Battery Health

I doubt that- Tesla has never reduced the size or offering of a battery on delivery without notice. I know that the BMS has difficulty measuring charge based on pack voltage due to it staying consistent over its state of charge

    Battery Health

Just curious what you think of this. I took delivery of a 2023 LFP Model 3 yesterday with the 18” aero wheels. Maybe it’s the BMS, but it had 264m range with just 3 miles on the odometer. I put 215 miles on it since delivery and it still charges max to 264 instead of 272, 3% less on the first...

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

As promising as other battery tech goes, I think the LFP is the ticket for most personal vehicle applications going forward. Unless they release a 330m range RWD NMC/NCA version next year, I see LFP as the better buy.

Supercharger - Mechanicsburg (Upper Allen), PA

Whichever it is, I am pleased with the recent expansions. 3 years ago, if I drove from York to King of Prussia Mall, I had to make sure to get a long enough charge on a level 2 charger in the garage to make it back. Now we have tons of options to choose from. The more, the merrier!

Supercharger - Mechanicsburg (Upper Allen), PA

Yes- but they (Sheetz) tends to fill gaps in non-traditional ways that Tesla wouldn’t do alone. This Mechanicsburg location is one of them. It isn’t exactly in a convenient spot, especially getting back on to rt 15. Gettysburg isn’t very far away, nor is Carlisle or Harrisburg. More...

I think the nice best place would be at the Sheetz at strinestown exit off 83. Its 15-20 miles north of the slower York charger and is a heavily traveled one and has lots of space

    Yeah- you are right. BEFORE Jan 1, 2024- AKA 2023- 40%, then 2024- 50, 2025- 60, 2027- 70, and finally end at 80% in 2028

I already have a Tesla, maybe that is why I am not in any rush. My M3 was ordered in June with a Delivery in Oct-Dec 2022. Knowing Tesla, this likely means January anyway.

Hi all, I was reading this bill last week - I believe I read that the mineral sourcing requirement does not kick in until Jan 1, 2024, NOT 2023. This would imply that the M3 Standard Range LFP pack WILL qualify for the full $7,500 from Jan 1 2023 - Dec 31 2023. Does anyone else see this?

Best place to buy Model 3 tires? For 235/40R19

Jack mode is for vehicles with air suspension like the S/X, not coil like 3/Y…. There should be no concern…. The biggest is the lifting points, always have a set of lifting pucks with you in case the shop does not.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Agreed - I noticed it being a bit slower, perhaps since v11 software. It likely has nothing to do with age or mileage as some suggest, but instead is due to software development. It might work and pass QA, but it may not be snappy.

Tesla solar panels - removal for new roof?

My sales guy pitched it like this - every roof will need to get replaced during the lifespan of solar panels, some are sooner than others. Then you think to yourself "well it's only $500 to pull the panels off and put them back on, thats a drop in the bucket additional cost to the cost of a new...

Supercharger - Breezewood, PA - Lincoln Highway

    Supercharger - Ephrata, PA

I don't believe gas prices are required to be posted as much as they end up being expected to be over the last century to compare against competitors. Its just that they want to advertise that they have a place to stop, get some gas/food/go the bathroom.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

To me it’s a no brainer. It’s bred life back into the car. There is value in having entertainment when charging, have gps, maps, etc. It is so much faster than MCU1.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Operating just based on Stats for my car, it went from .38miles/hr loss to .21 when my 12v was replaced, 12 months before and now 11 months after. When I replaced my MCU, the phantom drain did not budge.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

It may be coincidental but I noticed my vampire drained improved dramatically after I was alerted that my 12v battery needed replacement and was replaced. I have a feeling that an aging 12v cannot hold charge as well and may need to be charged by the HV battery more frequently than a fresh...

Supercharger - Elverson, PA - Peter J. Camiel Service Plaza

I don’t buy into the argument of not making money on supercharging. Why? Because in the average 8 stall location, I could expect tesla to be paying close to $750k for this install in 2019. They make their own lightweight stalls (no screens/interactions). Most stations are installed on...

Gen 3 Wall Connect - All LEDs Stay On When Disconnected

I was able to resolve mine on my own by powering off the breaker for 30s, and connecting to the wall connectors wifi to get into setup. From there I changed the input power from 60a to 50a and then back. From there on it was good to go.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

It took a couple of hours for my car. However I was at the service center last week and overheard them talking to another customer that they were still trying to get the firmware to take. I presumed it was an MCU upgrade on that as well.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Update that I have noticed with my latest version. As of 2021.32.20.1, I noticed my backup camera looks much better on MCU2 now in the dark. I’d almost go as far as saying just as good as MCU1. Has anyone else noticed this?

I wouldn’t think that way. It has changed my car entirely for the better otherwise. It is much faster. The snappier interface is worth every penny, the added benefit of a cell connection that works, better games and entertainment is the icing on the cake. open up an old iPhone from 2014...
