Retroactive price adjustment for those who took delivery very recently

Tesla doesn't do that, or rather.. they have not done that in the past.

    BMW I3 with Range extender

You can configure the REX to kick in at any level below 75% full battery... so your battery can be at 74% full and you will be driving on the REX.. not depleting the battery. I did exactly that on the only "long" 90mi drive I've done in my i3. After driving 90miles I arrived home with 50+ miles...

    BMW I3 with Range extender

    I currently have a 2017 i3 REX... bought it in Sept 2021, it had 36K mi on it.. paid $22K for it. FWIW, I've owned a 2012 Plug-in-Prius, a 2014 Volt, a 2017 Bolt and a 2021 Model Y. We currently have a 2021 Model 3 along with the i3 REX. I bought my i3 as a "holdover" car to use between when I...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

Even more dramatic.. 1 gal of gasoline = 138 sticks of TNT https://www.justintools.com/unit-conversion/energy.php?k1=gasoline-gallon-equivalent&k2=tons-of-TNT

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

As I mentioned on the Rivian forum: ..keep in mind 1 gal of gas = 33.7kWh. So the R1T's 135kWh battery is only equivalent to 4 gallons of gasoline. Put 4 gal of gas in your favorite V8 pickup truck (which still has way less hp/torque than the R1T) an see how far you make it towing 8.5K lbs...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

^ in another video they mentioned they were probably right at 1,450 lbs or so with all that wood and there was no sagging with the air suspension.

    CyberTruck Image Leaked

I owned a Volt from 2014-2017 then a Bolt from 2017-Nov 2020.. The Volt was an excellent and dependable vehicle, unfortunately it was necessarily complicated due to it's hybrid design and would be scary to own out of warranty. I imagine GM did not have a high profit margin on this one time halo...

Yes and the CEO of BMW has paid for that with his job... many at BMW are outraged that BMW has fallen so far it's early EV leadership under the tenure of the now outed CEO... https://apnews.com/article/cdae456e8c1948e5b7f01c602eda23dc

    CyberTruck Image Leaked

Yeah, many of us on the Bolt forum called BS on that outlandish statement the day it was made. In a way, GM was fortunate the global pandemic gave them an easy out from having to deliver on that promise.

Impressive tech, but keep in mind the Model S is one of the most aerodynamic and efficient EV's on the planet. We also don't know the speeds, terrain and temps experienced during the test.

Can I cancel my FSD without penalty?

Just cancel it once your truck is confirmed on it's way to you. It's not like you're adding or deleting a hardware item.

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

Welcome aboard! Have you heard anything from your preferred dealership yet? You might want to discuss pricing (dealer markups) to get that out of the way now to see if you're going to stay with them. Some dealerships are not marking up the truck, and others are asking crazy markups.

    Interesting F-150 status email

Well, you know.... they have to check the electrons in the battery. They may need alignment or are worn out and need replacing.

    awkward Cybertruck windshield wipers

    awkward Cybertruck windshield wipers

I sure hope they're not planning on storing the wiper in the up position as seen in the drone photo. It's like adding another section to the already wide A-Pillar making it even harder to see around corners, etc. Terrible idea! God forbid they just use two wipers and store them down at the...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

ICE efficiency increases under load. So even though it takes more HP and more fuel is consumed while towing w/an ICE.. it's efficiency is higher than at low (no trailer) load conditions. The most efficient state for an ICE is- low rpm under heavy load.

    Cybertruck News

Tri-Motor CT was $69.9K, if the Quad-Motor is $74.9K like the R1T (Adventure package) I'm still in... but higher than $75K and I'm out. And, I'm not interested in the Dual-Motor version.

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

Rivian seems to have most of the bugs worked out at this point with their finalized R1T production model. Now they just have to mass produce them! I would wager that if the current CT design was truely the "final production version" that somehow Tesla would be producing them somewhere. Maybe...

If any EV truck has a chance at being a towing star... it will be the Tri-Motor Cybertruck with it's aerodynamic form and huge battery. I love the Rivian R1T and have a $1,000 deposit down on one, but if I were a serious towing person... I would just go right for the Tri-Motor CT (which I...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

Considering they were towing a 7,000 lb load at 73mph the 62% range loss is not unexpected. How about just driving the truck without the trailer at 73mph and recording the range loss? I'm sure it's not trivial. Now try towing a 3,500lb boat at 35mph (my trailering scenario) and see the much...

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

I love when ICE people say "I can't be bothered plugging in every night".. well, with 300+ mile range you don't plug in every night, and if you set up your EVSE properly to make it easy to access, it's literally a 15 second process. The last three times I filled my kid's car with gas.. I had...

For hobbyist's the new Plaid 12v primary battery is just 8 Li-ion 3.6v cells in a 2P/4S configuration with a BMS. They should have been using this setup for years now.

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

From what we've seen so far... there is no "assembly line" even setup no less manned or running. The current vehicles produced by Rivian are 100% assembled by hand in a one vehicle at a time bay/pen. Kind of like how they build the super/mega $500k+ sports cars. That's why the media journalists...

How dependable is Carvana's offer to buy?

^ Excellent!! Vroom took 20+ days from start of accepting their offer to the day my check arrived (via FEDEX). It can be frustrating at times, but they will pick up your car eventually, after that, the check will come within 3-5 days. My experience with Vroom is almost the exact same as...

Cyber truck will be the best selling vehicle ever

Rivian needs to stop hosting wine and cheese parties in Venice and trying to look cute/say the right treehugger things... they need to put some work gloves on and build some F'ing vehicles. Yes, it's a great truck (it truly is)... the 7am shift just started.... put down the coffee and get to work!!

How dependable is Carvana's offer to buy?

Sold my 2021 MY to Carvana last month... being that it was a high $$ car, they required extra photos, a photo of the window sticker and photo of the title and lien release letter. A few extra hurdles, but they never changed the offer and the flatbed driver gave me the check before even looking...

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

^ I PM'd you @Jschoef.. but it's no secret, Carvana gave me $57K for it. That was before the recent $2K price increase so it might go for even more now?

Who Bought My 2021 Model Y? Was it you???

It's officially off my Tesla account as of last night... was easy to do. My offers still stand, I have some OEM parts (side mirrors, floor mats (never used), puddle lights, extra soundproofing trim, etc..) if the new owner would like them.
