    Scratch on door

For $1-2k, depends on your deductible. If it's $500 or higher, I would not go through insurance, as insurance hikes will probably hurt you long term.

Skid plate ripped off after front fender repair, coincidence or negligence from the shop?

I looked into the service manual on how to replace the fenders, and you are absolutely correct. It doesn't make any sense for any sort of impact to make the bolts go loose, and leaving a clean looking screw hole as a result. I am also thinking it's very likely the shop screwed up but not...

Skid plate ripped off after front fender repair, coincidence or negligence from the shop?

So I found something a bit interesting while going under the car... the screws from the skid plates were missing, and also the clips from the right wheelwell was missing as well. I don't really believe an impact would really make a screw go loose, but I could be wrong. Here's a few pictures to...

Skid plate ripped off after front fender repair, coincidence or negligence from the shop?

Hey guys/gals, About the same day or the day after I got my car back from doing a front fender repair, I started noticing some sort of scraping sound from the car. It wasn't until days later until today that I saw the skid plate ripped off from the car... here's a picture of the skid plate...

Does early termination of my current model 3 lease make sense?

I am sure the $7500 federal credit will still be a thing after 14 months, in fact, it will be a credit on the purchase price directly when buying the car after 2024. Unless the $3500 MA state credit is going away anytime soon, I don't see any reason to do any of this, or unless you believe the...

At fault accident fender/door damage, worth going through insurance?

Yeah, I guess I was a bit of panic and distress when I was making this post. I have already submitted the claim, so I am just waiting for them to proceed on what to do from here. I am in my late 20s, so I am expecting a bit more raise in premium from this, I guess a lesson learned on my end as well.

At fault accident fender/door damage, worth going through insurance?

So the inevitable happened, I screwed up today with hitting someone's car. That caused damage to the fenders and a bit to the doors as well. I have included a few pictures, I was wondering if it was worth going through insurance? I do have a $1k deductible.

So my car was vandalized. What can I do to protect further damage before my windshield is replaced?

Windshield repair kits are not designed for massive damage to the windshield like yours, more like a pebble sized crack hitting from smaller rocks/objects to the windshield. You might as well put some duct tape and it would be more effective than this.

Was there ever a discount on the acceleration boost, or was it always $2,000?

I doubt it. As DayTrippin mentioned, $2000 now is about $1700 in 2020 dollars when it was released December of 2019...

Best service centers for doing near out of warranty inspection in southern california?

Hey guys/gals, As my initial 4yr/50k miles warranty is coming to an end, I would like to do a some sort of end of warranty inspection to see if there's anything wrong or potentially wrong with my vehicle. model3 FSD or autopilot for 300 miles commute one way

Assuming this is your typical 8 hour job + 1 hour lunch, this will take about total of 15-16 hours a day away from home, which basically leaves you with no time at all for anything besides sleeping. This is too ridiculous of a commute, if you really have to do it, I would not do it no more than...

Closed garage door and scratched my bumper - Best way to fix?

I am sure other people have already mentioned, but I suppose here's your options: Cheaper options: 1. Do nothing 2. Touch up paint 3. Put some sort of sticker/decal over it More expensive options: 1. Wrap over it 2. Body shop to fix it 3. Replace entire bumper with a pre-painted one 4. New car?

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

Very unlikely. EV sales are gaining more percentage of total car sales every year, and HOV lanes in general are getting pretty clogged up (atleast in my state of CA) from the additional EV/Zero Emission vehicles.

Hey guys/gals, My current Taptes Hub Pro is giving me random disconnects for my dashcam drive, looking for an another solution for the USB hub solution. Are there any USB hubs that take advantage of the full 2.4amps power from the port itself? I see there most of them are only rated to 900mA...

I have my 2020 SR+ for 3 years now at 41k miles, has had a little bit of history (none on my fault), but it's been pretty good. Some things happened for the past 3 years: - Car accident on the driver side rear quarter panel, which is fixed better than when it came with (especially the paint...

Mini Spare For Model 3, Hyundai Genesis 18" works

    High electricity usage for charging

    Model 3 windshield/roof tint

    Need a windshield replacement recommendation

I don't believe there's any 3rd party windshields that's available for the Model 3s, even Safelite is using OEM glass from Tesla. Check your comprehensive coverage with your insurance to see if it's worth going through them, if it's low enough, it might be your best option instead of paying...

Recommendation on tires for model 3 long range

Another vote for the Crossclimate 2 as well for your weather climate for all year round all season tires. If you want better grip for both winter/non-winter weather, then you may want to consider dedicated summer and winter tires, but CC2 should be good enough for most cases.

    Exploding Passenger Side Mirror

I do not reasonably believe your side mirror damage would be caused by an explosion from the mirror itself. It's most likely an impact with some sort of object. I don't see any sort of burning damage to the wiring and the plastic housing of the internals, and if an explosion were to cause that...

    Scraped front bumper - help

I would just touch it up with Dr.Colorship like KenC said, or just simply leave it alone. Bumpers unfortunately will be taking most of the damage from daily driving in general, so this is inevitable over time.

Can any shop do wheel alignment

I am not sure about San Diego, but $200 seems a bit too much. I got mine done for $100 at a local tire/alignment shop that does Teslas well, and it seems to be fine. I would call and yelp around for more alignment shops and see if you can get a better price.

PIAA wipers or stick with Bosch Aerotwin OEMs for windshield wipers?

Hey all, Starting to notice some streaks on the windshield wipers so I figured it's about time to replace them. I noticed there are PIAA silicone wiper blades that are made for the Model, but they are about a bit over 2x the price of the Bosch Aerotwin OEM wipers. Are they really worth the...

how much would you pay to upgrade from 2020 SR+ to 2022 long range?

I can see the reason for faster acceleration, for driving in heavy snow, what tires do you have? I am not sure if Canada pairs them up with same MXM4s as in the states for 18" wheels, if that's what you have, getting dedicated snow tires would be your first thing to do.

Does new tesla come with j1772 at the time of delivery?

As far as I know, the J1772 adapter still comes with the vehicle for the time being, there hasn't been any news or rumors about it being removed. In the future though... Anything's up in the air. After the removal of the mobile charger, I would not be entirely surprised of the removal of the...

Keep my order for New, or Buy a 2019 M3 for $27,000?

Echoing the others to see if the 2019 SR truly doesn't have problems. Another factor to consider is the available rebates/incentives that are available in your area. The upcoming $7500 tax incentive is certainly a thing at the federal level starting next year, but there might be also...

    Llumar IRX Heat Rejection issue?

While tint can help reduce temperature in the car, it's not magic. You keep the car in the outside sun long enough and it's going to trap heat in side eventually.

Should I get a Model 3 Performance? Charging concerns.

Voltage shouldn't matter in this scenario, wire gauge determines how much amps it can handle. 14 gauge should be good for 15 amps, with 12 amps continuous. I could be wrong, but it's something you can consider talking to an electrician about this and see if it's safe to do so. In theory and...

Should I get a Model 3 Performance? Charging concerns.

If you are able to move the fridge away from the garage outlet/breaker and have it dedicated for your vehicle, you can also consider converting the current 15amp/120v breaker to 240v/15amps with a 6-15 outlet. That shouldn't cost a lot, and you will go from 3mph charging on 120v/15a to 11mph...

What is this headlight calibration setting mean? [not headlight, follow distance]

It probably doesn't matter anymore, as Tesla has been moving people to pure vision with the recent updates. Minimum following distance with radar is 1, vision is 2. As far as what the numbers actually mean, I have no idea. Does anyone know? Car length? Seconds? or something else?
