e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Great points and like the concept of adding more trails based on demand As for e-hiking assist pants all I can say is it Depends

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

This might help you understand the sport in general. The discussion is about allowing ebikes where regular bikes can ride, it’s not about allowing bikes of any kind terrorizing hikers. My army vet eMTB riding partner who lost most of both of his legs might have a stronger opinion.

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Simons bike is not a Class 1, 2 or 3 ebike. Only pedal assist class 1 ebikes with a max speed of 20mph are being considered for allowance on non motorized trails. Simon’s bike and electric Harley Davidsons are not relevant to the discussion about allowing class 1 ebikes where regular bikes are...

    Model Y price reduction

We took delivery last week, our third Tesla after selling our M3 to Carvana, and contemplated returning based on some bad panel gaps and paint on two interior panels that someone attempted to scrub off permanently damaging. But Thursday came and left so we’re hoping repairs are done in one trip...

Do you own an eBike/eMTB being an X’r? Do you think ebikes are ok?

I posted this on the M3 page and shoulda posted here cuz M3 owners are just low end Tesla owners and can’t haul a couple of eMTBs anyway. (My wife ❤️ her M3, it’s ok) Interested in support, and opinions on this, if you have actual experience, of course. Please support BLMs initiative to allow...

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

With class 1 you show nothing but the sticker on your bike. Even young physically fit riders ride class 1 allowing for longer, less torturous and healthier exercise than unassisted non electronic bikes. It’s only for the uphill. I’ve clocked 47mph on my acoustic bike on the downhill, with...

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Great points and thank you for this contribution. Sounds like you’re riding a class 3 if it does 28mph. We’re trying to allow class 1 pedal assist with a 20mph governor. Class 2 and 3 allow for no pedaling with class 3 exceeding the 20mph going to 28mph. Colorado state parks allow class 1...

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Puddles, have you ridden a bicycle on an off road vehicle road? Do you realize what you’re suggesting can actually result in serious injury or death to someone using a tiny electric motor for pedal assist on the uphill only, and on the same road as Jeeps and dirt bikes? And with a max uphill...

    Snippiness 2.0

And your I’ll informed opinion is duly noted. Jees, Tesla owners can be full of it too apparently. Have ever ridden a pedal assist bike? Have you ever seen one? Do you bike at all? Guessing no on all counts.

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Now a common term in the biking world. I originally didn’t get it and agree it’s kinda silly, acoustic vs electric guitar is presumably where it came from.

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

How does an eMTB prevent another mtnbiker from enjoying the same trails together? Your comment indicates you have no understanding of this topic. My guess is you don’t even own a mountain bike to miss the topic point so completely. Ignorance is having an opinion on something you know nothing...

    Snippiness 2.0

Another commenter who’s probably never seen an eMTB, let alone ridden one FYI the decision is in to allow Class 1 ebikes on all trails, they’re really just considering Class 2 access like CPW has allowed. Also, since you obviously haven’t done any research and don’t understand what the...

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Ignorance. Class 1 ebikes have governors that prevent them doing over 20mph and the state of Colorado did a study on their effects on trails in terms of damage, annoyance to hikers or equestrians and found them to be no different than acoustic bikes hence Colorado Parks and Wildlife allows...

e-Bike Hate Picking Up, You Can Help

Just like Tesla hate, eMTBs are catching a lot of flak on the trails here in Colorado, and for no good reason, just ignorance. BLM is attempting to allow eBikes where acoustic bikes are free to ride. Currently the penalty for riding an eBike on a BLM trail is $5000 and/or six months in jail...

Perfect Platform Bike Rack for X

If using Discount Bandit be sure you order 2" as they also have the 1.5". Been using this rack for 2 months and no complaints. Tightening tensioner takes a lot of spins but great to have a rack that doesn't make any noise in the hitch unlike my Thule. Also looking for a locking cotter pin...

Perfect Platform Bike Rack for X

I've only SC'd once and it was without the rack but I don't see it being an issue unless you're talking about cable reach. Would not be good to have to remove bikes and fold rack up but that would work.
  22. Mtnrunner

Perfect Platform Bike Rack for X

Tesla rack is not suitable for heavy eMTBs. Those require a platform rack. Tesla's rack is also a bit overpriced for use with standard bikes

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

2019 M3 on 2020.4.1 with 8600 miles we’re only getting 260 miles on daily and 292 on trip. Installing 2020.8.2 now. Should I expect an increase in range as I saw in my X Raven? I seem to remember we were getting 310 on trip charge when new six months ago. That’s a ~2.6% loss in range within...

    Model Y wheel options

Yep. But I think the issue is with width. I think Y goes 8.5" I'll probably either start all over again and get another set of rims/tires for winter or do what I've done on every other ICE car I've owned and go with good all season tires that actually work in the snow.
  25. Mtnrunner

    Model Y wheel options

Aftermarket sites are selling 18” wheels for the Y breaks should be fine. Larger sidewalls on tires would make up for diameter so not an issue with speedo

    Model Y wheel options

Anyone know if I can use my M3 18”x8 rims with the Y? It’s my after market winter setup using Michelin X-ICEs. Hoping to avoid the whole rim/tire purchase again once I get the Y but I suppose I could sell them for pennies on the dollar. Plan to sell 3 for Y soon once I get the notice from...

Op-Ed: Why I’d Still Choose A Tesla Model 3 Over The Model Y

Love the drive of the 3 but that 1.5"s more clearance can be crucial on snow covered mountain roads. My X has been great in the snow, 3 not so much. The hope is the Y will be close enough to the 3 in driving but even if it's not we'll live with it and take the extra cargo space. Agree the...

Good point, update could be based on car componentry. And I don’t think a magic method exists forcing an update. But maybe a support ticket can shed light on the whys. “It’s normal” and “wait for it“ guessing will be their answer. and we are in a very small club

    Front License Plate Solution

I purchased an "Omotor Front License Plate Mount Holder Bracket for Tesla Model 3", which is exactly like the ThatGrin product, for my model 3 and it cost $46. No longer available on Amazon, maybe they infringed on a patent but a much more reasonable price than the $160 ThatGrin is charging...

    Front License Plate Solution

Probably the single most annoying thing about the X is the absence of an easy front license plate install. And thieves selling $100+ solutions for $1.20 in parts is also very annoying. Many of these “solutions” like Evannex and ThatGrin use the flimsy plastic grill veins as a mounting point...

how to add profile picture and contact administrator?

Fear not! X is an amazing vehicle. Everything I thought I’d hate about it, like the FWDs I’ve actually come to love. My solitary complaint is with the sun visors but I expect an aftermarket fix will be available eventually and a baseball cap solves for now

    Model X to Cybertruck

Certainly love the six seater with captain’s chairs and might have opted for it but couldn’t justify the expense for something we would rarely use. Prefer six to seven seater too by a lot. I’m mostly psyched about the cybertruck for the driving we do but this X has really grown on me. I’m...

Which is all for the convenience and comfort of the rear passengers, few of which I have ever. Typically in resale and trade-in you don't recoup expensive upgrades, what the dealership refers to as chumpgrades. I've had enough expensive fully upgraded "LTD" versions of cars and trucks to...

    Unlock delay with iPhone?

Using Stats for iOS allows my wife to use her Apple Watch to unlock her M3 via lift for Siri. No need to grab her phone, just a simple voice command while walking to her car. She’s not 13 but sometimes I wish she was, (so I could watch her grow up and propose to her more romantically than I...
