I called the dealership, our cars are probably on the same truck :P They said it's still in San Fran right now. They scheduled my delivery for March 6th.

Yup, they would have charged the difference, I didn't even ask for a timeline on the black exterior as the soft VIN sounds like it's in transit, they said VIN will be assigned when it gets off the train so they can check for possible damage and delivery should be pretty quick after that.
