BC Hydro charging network, CCS, and the SETEC adaptor

It’s been pushed back to The second half of the year without explanation for why but they sent out an email to all Korea Tesla owners saying as much. I assume it has to do with the chip shortage and supply chain constraints. Korea has the same Tesla and CCS1 standards as NA so they should be the...

    Supercharger - Greenfield, CA (LIVE 15 Dec 2020, 12 V3 stalls)

Fairly certain the date is a typo because other posts seem to indicate it wasn’t this far along at the beginning of October but just wanted to confirm what the actual date was of these photos??

    Supercharger - Firebaugh, CA (I-5 / West Panoche Rd, LIVE 13 Nov 2020, 56 V3 stalls)

Average Estimate Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector Install

Mine was $450 for a 4ft run with no drywall in NorCal by a friend who’s an electrician. Neighbor’s was $850 for a slightly longer run.

Supercharger - San Mateo, CA - Hillsdale Boulevard (LIVE 5 Jan 2021, 12 V3 stalls)

Looking forward to this one, it will require getting through less traffic to reach and be much faster than the others in San Mateo, which are well-used because of their convenient locations (I imagine this one will be as well). The City of San Mateo has gone through this before so hopefully the...

    Navigation without Premium Connectivity

Not sure about traffic but your Model Y will come with free Premium Connectivity for a year so you have until July 2021 to find the answer. Yes, you have options in the menu for navigating around traffic by selecting how much time you want to save before it reroutes you.

Lousy range on new car, worse than expected

Mountain passes and a 75mph speed will eat up your range, add to that some wind, sea level, and weight in the car and you have it about right. I did a 250 mile trip each way, up 8,000 ft over some mountains (down to 6,000 ft for my destination), going 75mph and that's about the same range I got...

Feels like Blasphemy: Off Grid Charging

You had me until you said it’s running in the trunk. You really really really need to come up with a way to keep it out of the trunk while it’s on. Besides the exhaust going straight into your camper, the carcinogens and smell are getting stuck in the lining and fabric of your car (getting it...

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

Got my car today. Went through the whole checklist, not a single, solitary issue. Took my time at the request of my delivery advisor trying to find anything wrong with it and, well, it was perfect.

Any Bay Area End-of-Quarter VINs yet?

There were at least 4 white/whites on the lot when I was picking up. Seems many people agree!

Any Bay Area End-of-Quarter VINs yet?

Got my VIN in the source code Sunday, it was at the Burlingame SC Monday morning, ready for delivery Tuesday, I asked to pick it up today instead. For the record: the car was flawless at delivery.

    Charging my Y with a NEMA 14-50

Paid $500 for a 4 ft run. Electric box is right outside my garage so they just drilled through the back, into the garage, and went a couple feet over. Took them about 2 hours to get everything installed. He's actually a friend of ours whose been doing this a long time so I didn't ask anyone else...

    Charging my Y with a NEMA 14-50

Sounds good. Are you an electrician? Because I'm not and I really don't know what my electrician decided to do other than he put 6AWG on the work order so I know it works. Happy to ask him though.
  15. N

    Charging my Y with a NEMA 14-50

According to this chart it's perfectly acceptable to run my 4 ft length with a 60A breaker and 6AWG copper wire. But again, I'm not an electrician, this was my electrician's call.
  16. N

    Charging my Y with a NEMA 14-50

I have no idea what he used other than it's 6 gauge. Maybe because it's a 4ft run and the wire has more insulation? Just a guess. TBH I thought it would have to be 4 gauge too but in the end: they're the licensed electrician, I'm not, and if they say it's up to code and are willing to put their...

    Charging my Y with a NEMA 14-50

My electrician installed 6 AWG with a 60 amp breaker for my Gen 3 wall connector. Said it was good for what I needed. Max amps it can pull is 48A anyway.

AWD Non-Performance White Interior Waiting Room

VIN was in the source code on Sunday. I emailed my service center / advisor this morning telling them this asking when I should expect delivery. They got back to me shortly after saying, “It’s already here, when do you want to pick it up?” They still are detailing it today so I’m picking it up...

First Time Driving a Tesla- Just got my MY

Great write up! I was confused reading #1 at first. After reading you came from a Camry and Siena, your tendency to lunge forward by pressing too hard on the accelerator suddenly made much more sense. Came from a BMW 3 series and neither my wife nor I had this issue on our test drive, probably...

AWD Non-Performance White Interior Waiting Room

I have your exact same order. They’re building white interiors now. I searched the source code yesterday afternoon because I didn’t get a text and I had a VIN (did not have one Saturday). Another person I know with our same build got the 7 day text. Try searching your source code.

    Performance White Interior Waiting Room

White/White also in the Bay Area. VIN in source, did not get a call. @OutofPocket Curious if your VIN is higher or lower than 146XX? Wondering if I’m going to have to convince my wife to carve out time on Thursday as well.

AWD Non-Performance White Interior Waiting Room

Why’d you cancel for the referral? Wouldn’t the 1,000 miles of supercharging typically be worth less than the $100 it cost to cancel? Is there something I’m missing? Also, like Powertool said, isn’t the car more expensive now than it was on day one?

Delivered: Fremont express pickup experience & overall MY build quality

I think you’re right but I also think it’s better. I was there for a test drive a couple weeks ago and not only is it pretty cool to be at the factory, they were showing new owners how to use the Supercharger right in front of the showroom. You don’t get that experience at the delivery center on...

    Another text from Tesla...

They’ll get it to you Q2. They need to make a profit to get into the S&P 500! Tesla builds farthest away to closest, you’re close. They do this every quarter with every model, they build farthest away to closest. EDIT: Oops. Meant Q2 not Q1. Fixed it!

When you are on your Model Y page hit either Ctrl+U (PC) or Command+Option+U (Mac) then search for (Ctrl+F or Command+F) “5YJY” (don’t put the quotes). If something shows up, you have a VIN [Warning - It’s addictive]

    Model Y - Financing?

Tesla is the most valuable auto company in the world, they’re on the verge of being eligible for the S&P 500. They posted a profit and sold more vehicles than any other auto maker, gas or electric, in California last quarter. They also make energy products. They aren’t going under anytime soon.

Definitely not too late to get delivery. If it’s like every other quarter for Tesla, people will be getting VINs up until the last few days of the month.

They probably won't deliver it in a different state than the one you are registering it in even if switching was an option. I think you'll probably have to drive up to Seattle to pick it up.

    MY auto insurance

My best guest would be between $100 and $10,000 a year depending on things like your age, gender, driving history, Insurance history, financial situation, what you want covered, how much coverage you want, and more. But seriously, there’s a lot that goes into these estimates so get a few...

They’ll probably just give him a different VIN by the time he gets his MVPA. No big deal.
  37. N

Performance VIN on LR AWD question

Call your local service or delivery center (Google it) and ask them. They'll probably be about 1,000x more helpful, at least that's what happened for me. Also, honestly nobody really does know what's going on at the factory, it's not like they can give you information they don't have.

Near delivery change TO FSD Selection?

Just want to make sure you’re aware that FSD goes up to $8,000 in July so don’t wait too long or it’ll cost you $1,000.

    Performance White Interior Waiting Room

California folks: if this is like almost every other Tesla delivery cycle the past few years, the majority of California deliveries will take place the last two weeks of the quarter. This has to do with logistics more than anything else. Obviously some people will get them sooner but, fear not...

Black PUP scheduled for delivery in Northern CA. Questions!

    1. It’s expired. It’s been 30-60 days. You can reapply. Should show up or you can email [email protected] and ask 2. With all loans there is a 2 week “shop around” period where you won’t get dinged for multiple hard credit checks after the first one. Start wherever you want but stay in that...

AWD Non-Performance White Interior Waiting Room

Anyone can drive/walk by the logistics lot, (it’s just a chain link fence with a sidewalk next to it on a public road) or see what’s being delivered locally at the factory showroom (they let everyone into that lot). No need to try and find someone willing to give answers that could cost them...

    Model Y Flaw?

    Tesla Auto Insurance

Agreed. Liability seems low, a car accident could easily exceed Mine's $250k per person and $500k per accident. Also $250k per person and $500k per accident for uninsured motorist coverage. You probably already know this but just in case: get quotes from at least 3 different providers.

    Model Y Flaw?

    1. Drove it, visibility isn't great but you can see just fine for what you need it for. That said, you can also drive with the rear view camera on with a single tap on the main screen. 2. Not sure how that's a safety issue. 3. I have never driven in a car with drive spot monitoring and have...

AWD Non-Performance White Interior Waiting Room

Not saying they're wrong, just saying they have absolutely no idea what's being made this week. The veteran sales rep at the Tesla factory assured me that any sales rep, including himself, that tells you they know what's being built at the factory is speaking purely on conjecture. The sales reps...
