    Bad experience with flood waters

Yikes! See, that right there is why perhaps I shouldn't advocate this car for my mother - who also lives in Miami - what with the ominous future of stronger tropical storms, more frequent hurricanes, and the like portended by climate-change Chicken Littles...

Slate Review: Practically Perfect Road Trip Car

You might want to email him again and point out that the last sentence in his first paragraph is erroneous - Broder's test car did not run out of "batteries" on the freeway. You can blame that observation on one of your forum's obnoxious members (i.e. me), so he doesn't think that you are too...

My initial thoughts/feedback on my 40/60kwh Model S

True; but it also depends on how your bailiwick's electricity is generated - if it's nuclear or coal, well... I believe Florida uses primarily natural gas, which I suppose IS "good" relative to nuclear or coal - at least until one considers the ramifications of fracking. Certainly, streets...

    Enthusiast Non-buyers (gen3 waiters)

The Roadster never did anything for me because: (1) I can't fit in an Elise; (2) the Roadster is "just" an Elise with worse panel gaps; and (3) I'm not interested in a sports car without a stick. But the Model S? WOW! Gorgeous, seductive, innovative, brilliant, and practical (within its...

Help talk me away from the ledge

The 911 and Cayenne are SO 20th Century... (Yeah, I know the Cayenne didn't debut until 2002 - no matter.) The only reason I'd hesitate to dump the 911 would be if it had a stick.

The Rules of Model S Road Tripping

Meanwhile, the first pic has me convinced that THAT red is the absolute best color for a Model S. Wow. (And I still far prefer the 19" wheels.)

Has anyone done a full WRAP on their new model S P85 yet? I have...

Glad someone else noticed that. If I had a silver or white Model S (and I love silver cars, so that's what it would probably be), I'd have to hit that chrome strip IMMEDIATELY - probably with Plast-Dip. And, seriously, once again: what IS that? Is it in fact a little peek-a-boo of the battery pack?

Has anyone done a full WRAP on their new model S P85 yet? I have...

I'd say the BEST part of this is that it might be the first white out there with its rocker panels now perfectly resolved - that little chrome under the lower edge of the doors (what IS that? The battery pack peeking out?), to me, REALLY detracts from the profile of white and silver Model Ss...

    Body Side Moldings

True, but - as with mknox - my car has been "saved" countless times by its side moldings (I know, because they show plenty of evidence of encounters with careless a-holes), and it concerns me that my next car will likely do without - as manufacturers seem to be eliminating them for a cleaner look.

What Dress Goes Best with a Tesla?

Post away, I already promised not to write anymore (yeah, this post kind of breaks that promise, but the point is I'm the one who introduced "the slut word" to this thread - meanwhile, I'm very tempted to use that word in the Sarah Palin thread; wonder if anyone here would have a problem with...

You can't really appreciate "Tesla Time" until you get out of the Bay Area.

I applaud all of you owners who have the patience and enthusiasm to indulge questions and spread the word about the car. And you Miami guys, maybe my mom will be one of those asking you about your Model S one of these days - she lives there and has a Bentley, and I joined this forum to learn...

First Road Trip - Lynchburg, VA to Emerald Isle, NC

Your last pic of the dash display answers a question that I wouldn't have thought to ask (The car shown is color-matched - interior too? - to your actual car?). Pretty nice touch.

    Blue exterior, Tan leather interior

I chatted up a guy about two weeks ago with that color combo (and sat in the car while doing so), and thought the car was drop dead gorgeous. Mind you, it's a DARK blue - indeed, I thought it was black upon approach - so you'll be cleaning it as if it were black; but aesthetically it's killer.

The Model S vs. ..... AKA the Model S performance thread

Well, given that we're mostly assuming here (perhaps unfairly) that the Tesla/Accord accident was a result of a race between the Model S and a Mercedes (that is, after all, what most of the evidence so far indicates), a thread asking people to chime in on how they've done in real world...

    Europe - Denmark - CHAdeMO

I've thought about this some more and now have a different viewpoint on the whole extravagant-for-a-Dane thing... As in most (all?) of Western Europe, cars in DK are taxed to Hell. Presumably at least one of these reasons is due to curbing their environmental impact (easy to conclude, given how...

    Europe - Denmark - CHAdeMO

Well, I try to think about words, not merely stare at them - but whatever, point taken. So, to rephrase "With all your windpower, DK seems like a perfect place for EVs..." in an attempt at clarification: Given that Denmark is a world leader in green technologies and reducing carbon emissions...

    Europe - Denmark - CHAdeMO

Uh... Denmark leads the world in windpower and wind-turbine technology and production. Providing, I believe, about 30% of its electrical needs from wind power yearly (and I could've sworn that my uncle told me last summer during my last visit that there are days when 100% of the electricity used...

    Europe - Denmark - CHAdeMO

Interesting that I received two negative rep points for my above post being "insulting to Danes" when I MYSELF AM A DANE (well, my mother's Danish), and LOVE Denmark and think it's one of the greatest countries on earth (and wish that I lived there). My first name is the same as the majority of...

    19" Tire Replacements?

Yikes, I dunno. But, if you start a from-scratch search on Tire Rack, you will also be able to see the OEM tires listed (or you can plug them in yourself), then check both the "surveys" for each tire you're interested in, as well as the customer reviews - all sorts of information there to help...

    Pictures with 19 inch Wheels?

I, for one, FAR prefer the looks of the 19"s to the 21"s, partly because I dislike wheels with a lot of spokes, and also because I'm that rare bird who generally hates the look of huge wheels and super-low-profile tires. I feel the 19"s compliment and enhance the classic beauty of the MS, while...
