In California (at least) there is a minimum yellow time dictated by the speed limit. This was a way to get red light tickets tossed out (if the particular traffic light didn't adhere to the minimum).

If the tax credit changes, it won't be for model year 2024 MYs (though Tesla doesn't really use model years as other car manufacturers), but for a sale happening after January 1, 2024. (Or any other date that the law changes the requirements.)

There is no way to manually check for updates (or at least only anecdotal evidence that you can do that). Though just going into the software screen indeed sometimes seems to update the date it last checked, whether that's just the UI being updated slowly or an actual check is impossible to tell.

I guess it's the typical Tesla style where they just make up the rules... I'd argue that only the written rules are binding, though it will likely take a major effort to keep Tesla to those when something does go wrong.

That's not what is in the FSD transfer terms - the vehicle has to be registered in your name at the point of taking possession of the new vehicle. But it would be a sensible thing to wait with selling it until the FSD transfer completes in case there is some kind of hiccup with the transfer.

Should have thought of that as it works the same on the car's screen.

To revive this old thread, I did replace the Model Y (which had homelink installed) due to the FSD transfer offer, and signed up for a 1-year myQ subscription considering it would cost less for a few years (planning to keep the vehicle not more than 3-4 years) compared to a new homelink install...

Indeed, they are simply not passing the federal tax credit on to the customer and keep the $7.5K. There is no rule that forces them to pass that money on to the lessee. Note that (at least) BMW does the same except for the lowest i4 spec (at least a few months ago).

I've only driven 40 miles on these but first impressions are fine. I'm not a fan of Pirelli tires and had Vredestein Quatrac Pros on the 2020 Y I just sold. I was planning to swap wheels and tires, but probably I will just swap the wheels and keep these.

After pickup yesterday, my (updated) MVPA now doesn't show FSD anymore, and the $15K is gone from the order adjustment line. So indeed that seems to be how it works now. Monroney sticker doesn't have FSD on it either.

You can, but I guess the vehicle will remain owned by Tesla until they file the paperwork with the DMV, which they will only do once they get paid.
