    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

Sorry, no Henryetta update but it is time to vote for McAlester again, https://www.tesla.com/supercharger-voting Also, Plugshare is listing 4 CCS stations coming to Flying J in Checotah, Flying J Travel Center #702 (Coming Soon) | Checotah, OK | EV Station. Anyone know the status?

    Supercharger - Henryetta, OK

Please consider putting a vote for McAlester as well. Currently in #16 or something on https://www.tesla.com/supercharger-voting. It is not on Tesla official map so it would be a nice addition to Henryetta that has been teased for way too long.

Add Wall Connector to Tesla App

I can confirm it works on App version 4.25.1953. It was a bit clunky to do the FW update of the wall connector and it took me a couple of attempts to make it work. Now it show up under My Home in the app but there is not much to see. Charge stats, manage users, schedule and WiFi

    Superchargers and Oklahoma

Political barriers? I've been wondering the same. Perhaps the legacy of one of the biggest climate change deniers out there, Senator Jim Inhofe still looms large over Oklahoma?

    Ride quality (2022 vs 2020)

Can confirm this. Had a low VIN 2020 MYLR first and since March a 2022 MYP. It just feels like a better car and it is more quiet.

    CCS Adapter - ?

I’m thinking politics. Tesla Superchargers is a better product than CCS charging and one of many reasons why people chose Tesla. If Tesla introduced CCS adapters in the US market I’m sure some creative bureaucrat or politician would introduce a bill that would try to force Tesla to open up...

    CCS Adapter - ?

Sure. Someone earlier in the thread also recommended it. Paid just under 13 dollar I think. Here it is: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09PZWHPPX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

    CCS Adapter - ?

It sure does. Glad it worked well for @Midnightsun. I had issues with a BTC station this past weekend and my Tesla had a lot of error messages during the handshake. Eventually I got it working for a slow 17kW charge. I reached out to the owner, Francis Energy and they called back very excited to...

    CCS Adapter for North America

I tried my CCS1 adapter on a few different charging stations on a road trip this weekend and there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. I reported a few posts back that I couldn’t get a 200 kW charger to activate and I got recommended to try another one by a friendly TMC member. So...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Got an error message when trying a 200kw CCS station by Francis Energy: EZ GO McAlester | PlugShare When I moved to a 60kW station it worked. Picture or the model that failed and error message attached.

    CCS Adapter for North America

It is an injection molded part. What takes time is making the tool the first time. Once that is done you can manufacture thousands a day if you wanted to. It is not like the adapter from Ukraine that is machined. In my mind Tesla is deliberately limiting supply.
  16. Y_4_speed

    CCS Adapter for North America

Agree 100%. There is no way this is a supply chain issue. It is a passive adapter made up of some pieces of injection molded plastics and a few copper conductors. Not really rocket science to manufacture or need any electronics that may be in short supply. There is definitely something else...

    CCS Adapter for North America

Got my CCS1 adapter today. Drove over to my closest CCS-station that happens to be an older EVgo with only 50kW. Arrived with 76% charge and was receiving 36kW right away on a MYP 2022 with 2022.12.1. Happy with the result. Have a road trip through supercharger no-man land this weekend (east...

Preconditioning for fast charging, worth it?

So is preconditioning not clever enough to balance range with energy consumption? Sounds like a stupid implementation if I would end up short of reaching my supercharger because of preconditioning to reduce charge time once I'm there.... Can someone confirm that has actually happened to them?

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

Picked up in Plano TX yesterday. VIN F398xxx. Flawless and has all the latest upgrades. It rides better than my old MYLR and more refined overall. Spent yesterday doing a deep clean and applied ceramic coating. Turned out great. Went for dinner last night and parked under a tree. I’m such an...

    CCS Adapter for North America

I think it will expand Setec's market as the 2 adapters serve different customer needs. Although current active adapter can be used with every Tesla it has some compatibility issues with chargers and is only really for those without CCS ECU. The market for those without CCS ECU will always be...

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

That is a great article. Thanks for sharing. Now if only Tesla could step up their game. They have all the facts they need to improve the estimated range graph and consider inside/outside temperature and wind in their prediction model.
  41. Y_4_speed

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

Thanks So I was hoping my data would show this but there is something still missing I think. I have 10% difference in efficiency because the temperature (high 90-ies vs low 70-ies), 78.8% versus 68.8% efficiency. Then assuming I had full 10 mph head wind this week and 10 mph tail wind in May...
  42. Y_4_speed

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

I see your point. How did you get to 36%? Here is my lifetime stats of Wh/Mile and I can't vouch for how much of this has been with headwind or tailwind but the difference is about 10% on average for a +/- 10 mph difference. So adding up what I've gathered so far I may have lost 10% because...
  43. Y_4_speed

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

Yeah it went a lot higher than that. During my 1+ hour stop in McAlester I think I hit north of 130F. I remotely turned on the HVAC while walking back to my car so it dropped below 90 or so before I left. During my shorter stop in Durant it was on the whole time. But for sure, HVAC was working...

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

I'll try recirculating and see if it makes a difference. ABRP was set to 95 F and it has been good at predicting charge times and consumption previously but it was also caught off guard. Here is my temperature efficiency graph from TeslaFi. It show a 10% reduction in efficiency at 95-100 F...
  45. Y_4_speed

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

Agree and I’m also convinced the outside temperature is a factor. I’m still in shock that the difference can be so large as 34% if that is the case. Why isn’t the efficiency graph estimating that difference correctly at the start of the trip? Tesla being a company talking up AI/ML all the time...
  46. Y_4_speed

Same 324 mile drive - huge difference in efficiency

Yeah, I'm sure those can be factors. It was a lot warmer yesterday than back in May and I can't tell from TeslaFi in what direction the wind blew. Just that it was a similar range, 10-15. But 34% difference in efficiency? Perhaps I don't know my car that well still.
