    Rolo Finally Get's a Tesla!

After following Tesla faithfully since 2008, I finally was able to afford one. Took delivery at end of November. Dual motor. Wore my vintage Roaster T for the occasion.

    Queueing in Bellevue

Got here at 6:35 and there were already 100 in front of me. The people around me are lame, no knowledge of TMC, don't want to talk, and no appreciation of my vintage Roadster t-shirt. So glad I didn't bring rolos for this crew.

    Best EV for Saudi Arabia

So my Saudi professor friend and I finally got a big research grant funded to study aspects of EV charging and integration. Part of the money in this massive Saudi government funded proposal is to buy two EVs and ship them there. You read that right, I'm going to use Saudi oil money is going to...

    I can't afford a Tesla yet, but...

I just had this 3.3 kW array installed on my house last week. I get a really good solar profile with no shade at all on my south side. Though it is often cloudy, the payback should be 5-8 years.

Does he still have his Canadian citizenship? If so, he could be knighted. That would be awesome.

Root Beer Hunting in the Model S

For those of you who don't know, I love finding and reviewing new types of root beer. It is my assertion that the Model S is the ultimate root beer hunting machine because with supercharging, it only takes time to get to a new brewery or root beer stand. I've written about several of my root...

    Reputation Bar Mouseover Text

So I've noticed that after a certain point, the mouseover text on the reputation bars doesn't change. This should be fixed because bonnie has been merely "glorious to behold" for the past three bars. It was fun to watch it change as she got more reputation. May I suggest some new tiers...

    Charging Between Ellensburg and Pullman

So my boss wants to drive his S 60 from Seattle to Pullman. After the supercharger in Ellensburg it's 192 miles to Pullman, which is cutting it close. Does anyone know of any level 2 chargers in Othello, Royal City, or Colfax? Just 20 minutes at a 240V - 30A would probably give sufficient buffer...

    German Revolt against Solar

Here's an interesting article about Germany's energy problems, very high costs and grid problems, from their rush to install renewables. I don't know if there's a better thread for this. Mods feel free to move it without any backlash.

The Death of Rolos Immortal Flip Phone

Actually, it's still quite alive, but I'm looking into smartphone plans. I'm looking for advice on a good cheap smart phone plans for 2 lines. Whoever suggests the plan I ultimately choose, will have the honor of smashing my 5 year old Samsung flip phone.

    My Test Drive Today

I took a test drive of a Performance Model Today and loved it. So responsive and amazing handling. Completely blows away my A6. Some negatives, the back seemed to shake when I punched it hard and that silly cruise control handle from the Mercedes steering column was annoying. I also wish it had...

Help Me Crowdfund My Model S

I've made my (refundable) reservation but I can't responsibly afford a Model S yet. I desperately want to drive a Tesla as it is the only EV that will work for my family right now. Charging a Roadster with Varying Terminal Voltage

So I had the opportunity to perform some experiments yesterday with a Sig 100 Roaster. I was charging at 120 V through an autotransformer with variable output to see how the power draw was affected by voltage variations. I've done similar experiments with the company LEAF and observed the...

No seriously, here me out. What if he bought his way to a Signature Series, took delivery in the summer, and then started driving it around campaigning in it? He can clearly afford it. Maximum Current Draw vs. State of Charge

So I have an interesting question. I know that the Roadster can charge with different maximum amp cables (15, 20, 40, 50, 70) but how is the maximum amperage that the battery can draw affected by the current state of charge. I know it isn't flat, but is it flat within a specific range (10%-90%)...
