Anyone chasing snow chains for Model 3?

I have a set of the Pewag Servo Sport RSS76 that I no longer need. Anyone chasing a set? Suits 18" and 19" 235/45/18 and 235/40/19. Does not fit the 20" Performance wheel. These are unused other than a practice fitting in the garage. Comes in the case with a knee mat. Location: Sydney. $100.

I have a few spare wheel sets for Model 3

I've put my factory wheels back on the car for trade in, and now have 4 wheels with tyres to suit any Model 3 (including Performance) These would make an ideal spare for road trips if anyone is chasing one. They are TSportline 18", fitted with Michelin PS4 235/45R18 inflated to 42psi and ready...

MYP moving rear tyres to the front

...and putting 295's on the rear. I was watching this video on youtube: With a Model Y P, he has taken the 275 wide tyres off the rear rims and installed them at the front (replacing the 255's). Then purchased a set of 295wide and put those on the rear rims. This appears to offer better rim...

Are seat heaters more efficient than AC Heat?

I have a couple of long trips to the snow coming up. 2020 non-heatpump Model 3 Anyone have thoughts from an efficiency standpoint, of the use of seat heaters, instead of using the resistive heater via the climate control system? Car will have 4 occupants, so the seat heaters would be activated x4

UK Rapid Charging Network 99% reliability law

I think Australia needs to take a close look at this development, especially while taxpayer grants are being doled out. The poms are introducing a law, requiring EV "rapid" charging networks to be 99% reliable or better...

What is the clearance issue with snow chains on M3P?

Hopefully someone might be able to shed some light on this. Tesla says conventional diamond snow chains are ok on Model 3 with 18/19 inch wheels, but not 20". Given that the overall diameter of the tyre itself is virtually identical regardless of 18/19/20", does anyone know specifically where...

What's going on at the Canberra Superchargers

Hi all, I'm planning an upcoming trip and was looking to recharge at the Canberra supercharger site. Looking at recent Plugshare checkins, most of the recent reports are saying they are only getting a 20-30kw charge rate. This seems to be occurring even when there's only 1 or 2 other vehicles...

    Behaviour at private destination chargers

“Poor planning on your part does not necessitate an emergency on mine.” I was looking on plugshare recently doing some early planning for some possible trips in regional NSW. One thing that I noticed that the comments in a few negative "check ins" felt a bit off and I thought I'd see what the...

    Tesla to cease RHD production

News overnight that Tesla is ceasing RHD production and withdrawing from RHD markets globally. Lots of questions: Will they retain the super chargers, and for how long? What EV brand will we switch to? Our cars now collectors items? Maybe they will switch to a centre drive setup like the...

    Sensitivity of security alarm

I’ve had two instances now where the car alarm in the Model 3 has gone off incorrectly. On the first occasion I was standing about 20m away from the parked car, and a loud Harley Davidson rumbled past. That triggered the alarm. Second occasion it was triggered by a passing bus. I was able to...

What type of socket is this?

A friends rural property has the socket below. It looks like a 3 phase outlet but is labelled 500V 15A and lacks the centre hole. Does anyone know what this would be used for and whether it is useful for EV charging with the right tail?

    Trading in with Tesla AU

I couldn't see a discussion of this, so thought I'd raise the question. I've recently placed an order for a Model 3, and added the details for the possible trade-in of my current car. After a day or so I got the email saying that the trade in offer was ready. I logged in and checked it out...
