Looks like you are correct. That poses certain issues, but it's not insurmountable.

Tesla was able to get my car revived. Said it was a perfect storm of things that went wrong. In all it took 4 software engineers remoteing in to the rangers laptop and manually pushing files. Once it came up again they pushed the 2020.8.2 fw and all went well. Thanks Tesla!

Mobile service here now. Apparently the car tried to wake or start up at the end of the update and that is what messed things up. Engineering is connected remotely through his laptop working their black magic.

Mine did the same. On wifi the whole time. Only after mine finally installed, it failed, and now the car is dead.

I took delivery yesterday, got the update today, failed to install and bricked my display.

I'd guess it is buffer trails. I can't see any imperfections in the paint itself. Seems to be in clear.

Well my one day old M3P+ just got the update this afternoon. It failed to download a few times, then completed. I installed and it went through the whole process, then upon rebooting I got the update failed message with a non responsive screen. I waited a while then did the two button reset...

Took delivery Sunday 3/22, inspected the car well inside but didn't notice this until today. The paint on the hood seems to be blotchy. Clear coat is good. What are my options? I'm still within 7 days of purchasing and I have a mobile service visit tomorrow to install homelink.
