2021 Model Y phone key stopped

I am having the same problem, now almost every day. What works for me is to stop the app on the iPhone and then reload it.

Car asks for keycard, but lets iPhone unlock door

Lately I have had the same issue. Car does not unlock when I pull the handle. I then use the app (which was open on the iPhone) to unlock, that works, but foot on pedal still asks for keycard. Close app, reopen app, works.

    FSD Beta v11.x

For me, on my second MY, the wipers have always performed acceptably in the rain. However now I have a problem. Sometimes, but not always, when I start to drive out of my garage they will make two passes and stop. The windscreen is totally dry (Arizona, no rain in memory!). Any suggestions?

FSD transfer: What's the current installation rate of HW4 on Model Y?

But if you get HW4 you will not get FSD Beta until next spring. Take about a bait and switch for those who traded in working FSD cars for a six month wait to get it back.

    2023 console storage tray

Just traded my 2020 for a 2023. The deep storage area under the armrest had a shallow tray on top in the 2020, but it is missing in the 2023. Should I complain, or is that another Elon saving?

    Beta FSD Transfer

Not quite true. I did it, and no longer have FSD Beta, just the basic auto steer cruise control. Supposedly at some unknown point in the future I should get back on the Beta, but no idea when. Not impressed with Tesla's software versioning, they seem to be loosing track of the different hardware...

Yes, FSD transferred, but FSD Beta did not!

I did the purchase with FSD transfer. I was on FSD 11.4.4, 2023.7.20. The new car has FSD ?, 2023.20.100.1 and I cannot find the FSD version number. However it will not let me access FSD Beta, just says it will be available in the future. (I think it is 11.3.6 but cannot find it in the menus)...

2023 Model Y LR Poor Mileage in real world

There have been suggestions that Tesla cheats on estimated mileage (exaggerating it) when above 50% full, and then corrects it at lower levels so drivers do not get stranded. My statistics do not support that at all. Three years ownership. 28,000 miles. Statistics (start estimate, actual...

How to ensure “FSD license” transferred to new HW4 Model Y?

Tesla have modified clause #4, which originally said the transferred FSD could not be further transferred to anyone buying the car from you. That restriction has now gone!

    First Impressions 2022.20.15

Big change for me - the discharging/charging line is thicker, easier to see. That shows you how little else impressive has happened. Crossing traffic well in the distance still causes a hard braking action. One left turn is handled better than in the past. Too slow reducing speed when speed...

    2021.44.30.5: Improved Phantom Braking?

After a couple of 35 mile drives yesterday my observations on 2021.44.30.21 are:- Turns were much smoother. Phantom stops were more like short slow-downs not the previous sudden jerks. However I had four occurrences of a very annoying fault. Within a mile or less of a planned turn, in the...

    Poll on V11 interface

People are blaming the software developers for this mess - I think the blame lies with Musk. He looks forward to when driver input will be unnecessary and the screen will just be for entertainment, so that is how he directs the screen development - hide all those driver-related functions because...

    10.8 FSD

Could not resist a short (15 mile) jaunt around the neighbourhood. Worked quite well, a little too far to the left where no median stripe, rather slow and jerky on left or right turns from a stop sign, one sudden slowdown, one failure to stay in lane on sharp right turn. I ended up turning down...

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

2021.44.25.2 What a mess. I can no longer just swipe right to get odometer information, swipe left to get tire pressures. Now it takes a couple of hits that need more focus on exactly where I am touching the screen, more distracting, more dangerous. Various other actions seem more obtuse. Would...

98 Score - Got FSD Beta?

Sorry, misunderstood the poll. 98 but no Beta.
  26. T

95% of my drives, Safety Score reports "Hard Braking".

I got dinged so many times on cruise or autopilot that I do not use them while trying to build my score. TACC would charge up to traffic lights and then brake hard. It would follow too close and ding me for that.

Elon: 10.5 in about 10 days (roughly Nov 21)

    Safety Score

I have stopped using TACC since I get dinged for following too closely and hard braking when it stops at traffic lights. (And it never accelerates fast enough to avoid leaving a tempting gap for other drivers)

    Model Y LR Range Reduced?

No, the factor is simply based on the EPA range applied to the current measured capacity of the battery. Elon did not come up with the expected range, the EPA did.

AC Turns off when Driver Leaves while Back Passenger is in the back?

But in camp mode I believe walking away does not lock the car? We always use dog mode when I leave my wife in the car while I run an errand. Why do we need another setting that does exactly the same thing but labelled differently for sensitive passengers?

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

No. I never bring percent battery remaining into my logic, just deal in miles remaining. I know how my normal driving and the specific conditions of a trip will impact the normal EPA estimate and adjust accordingly. Much easier and more simple than starting with battery condition to determine...

  36. T

Ugh. 36 minutes to charge 110mi at a Supercharger (1.5 hours including drive of 24 miles roundtrip)

Exactly. Miles remaining is in fact, for me, more useful than % remaining. It is directly calculated from the % remaining using the EPA estimate. You then just need to recognize that you will obtain a different range from the EPA, taking into account your driving style, the route...

White Interior Door Panels Are Going Away Soon.

It seems that Tesla only makes changes that result in cost savings to them, while reducing the desirability of the vehicle. Drop passenger lumbar support. Ugh. Ugly, less practical centre console. Ugh. White door panels replaced with black. Ugh. Drop radar, deprecate driver assist functions...

MY FSD fails to read yellow speed sign on ramp?

"MY FSD fails to read yellow speed sign on ramp?" No it does not fail. It should not read these signs nor adjust speed depending on them. They are not speed limit signs, they are advisory signs that basically say you "may need to slow down for this corner". You decide. FSD should treat the...

charging, how often do you plug in at home?

Every week or two, depending on use. (cycle from 80% to 20%) Probably best to cycle a battery rather than staying in a narrow range of charge, and less wear on the charging components, physical and electrical. Downside - car is not always ready for an emergency long trip if that is a possibility...

Blind spot, close calls - do I need camera adjusted?

Changing the mirrors is wrong. Adjust them properly and there is no blind spot. Sit in the car in your driving position. Look in the rear view mirror, find an object at the far left edge of the mirror. Adjust the left mirror so that object is at the far right edge of the mirror. No blind...

cruise brakes automatically in traffic? is this normal?

...and the fourth option is "Navigate with Autosteer" which only works on freeways. It will change lane automatically if it comes up on slower traffic, move right to avoid driving in the left lane, and take the appropriate exit before handing back control to the driver.
  44. T

    Maximum following distance.

Between 1 and 3 seems right for me, depending on traffic. 3 leaves too much space in traffic, resulting in people jumping into the space and scaring the Tesla!

Payment method: Plaid vs direct draft

All they had from me was the $100 deposit. I wrote a personal check for the full balance after checking the car. No problem. Perhaps Arizona has different rules than Alabama. I did not clear this ahead, nor did Tesla ask how I would be paying, other than cash.
  47. T

Payment method: Plaid vs direct draft

Maybe true in your state, but I paid with a personal check after inspecting the car - highly recommend that approach. So it is an option.

    Model Y full charge range

Sorry but your "point" makes no sense to me (Nor mine to you, obviously) However why try to introduce a new owner to wh/mi (fortunately it is not kw/mi!). "How far can I drive before recharging?" is the basic question. 326 may be the answer, with qualification about conditions and driving...
