You all have about talked me out of a Tesla altogether...

Late to this party, but just would add that I own BMW 1M, Porsche Cayman GTS, but I see my 2020 M3P modded by Mountain Pass Performace and after dumping the lousy 20" wheels/tires and replacing with Apex 18" and 265 Michelins, as my most awesome performance vehicle, not to mention by far the...

My Model 3 was attacked in my drive way.

Incredibly bogus to do anything but wipe down the interior; treating old blood (even viruses die on exposure) as a hazmat is so ridiculous and blood is easy to remove from synthetic materials like the seats, dash etc. Wood might be harder. Presoak with cold water almost always would work...

Anybody come from a sports car to Tesla?

Well I have M3P 2020, BMW Series 1M, and Cayman GTS and they are all so different is apples and oranges time! I don't know what a GBM is?! All I do know is that if your Cayman is a manual, you will miss that and the fact that is so agile and makes fun noises. Still the Tesla M3P is an...

2018 Tesla Model 3 LR RWD at 34,000 miles (Wheel Alignment with new tires?)

You can get an alignment "check" for about $30 at Firestone or the other major players and take a look to see if you think you need anything done; my 2020 M3P came misaligned enough to get an alignment! My wife's 2022 M3LR was perfect.

Why is it so hard to find lowering springs?

Might try to buy the Performance set-up which lowers the car and I think changes the shocks as well; I have full practically new set that I'd give you if dropped by which might apply to others that have put in coil-overs (I highly recommend any of the 3 choices offered by Mountain Pass...

    Winter tires for Model 3

Vredestein Wintrac Pro Performance winter tires sized 235/45 18, perfect for model 3; like new (manufacture date 47/20) used for less than 1000 miles, tread measures 10/32 on all. Now have a warm winter home, no need for winter tires. They are every bit as good as Consumer Reports says...

Any Hardcore Car Enthusiast Out Here? I Have Questions About Going to Model 3

Competition is good, but Mountain Pass Performance has better options than Unplugged for chassis/brake upgrades.

Ordered M3P coming from FBO E85 Golf R...hope the Model 3 can check the same boxes

I recommend 18" (wide summer, narrow winter) for the M3P; 265/40 PS4 for summer on Apex wheels originally intended for Mustang, but great for the Tesla as well; better deal than Michelin and top performance for winter are Vredesteins at 235/45 and less than $200 at tire rack. If you want bigger...

    M3P VS BMW I4 M50

Well, as previous 997.1, E92 M3 and current Series 1M owner, I would say the judgement on the stock dampers is unduly harsh; my biggest complaint with the stock M3P chassis was it's total lack of adjustment options and I would certainly say that I have been very glad to have moved over to...

    Keep getting flat tires

I live in Chicago, home to pot holes bigger than some lakes. Immediately sold off 20", heavy, weak rims and replaced with 18" Apex (made for Mustang but fit with centering rings--I hate those too, but compromises!) that are stronger, lighter and make great platform for my 265/40 sticky...

Wall Connector or 240V Charger adapter

I guess I'm wondering a bit as to why so many seemed obsessed with high charging speeds; do you put on that many miles and are away from charging that long? Even if I am gone 10 hrs, my 120/20amp set-up gets me 100 miles overnight (much better that the chart someone put up!) Unless you are...

    F80 m3 owner, ordered a M3P - looking for feedback

Had E90 M3 manual, then 1M (still have) and find the M3P, modded by MPP with upgraded shocks, suspension bits and brake work. Still enjoy the 1M for all the old analog/noise stuff, but this car absolutely smokes it for fast fun driving on street. I'm over my tracking days. I note some...

Any other VW GTI or Golf R converts?

Best of both worlds; have had Mk 6, then Mk 7.5, which I foisted on my wife after explaining that has all the space and much better safety systems than her 2015 Macan. Love those GTI's and thank goodness got the DSG for the second one so wife now loves it! Can't really be readily compared to...

    Going from 2018 M3 Dual Motor to 2020 M3P - thoughts?

2020 M3P. Thought handling/ride was comparable tho different (more weight but less roll; annoying electronic nannies when doing quick maneuvers unless in track mode) to my E92 M3 and E82 1M. Upgraded to Mountain Pass Performance (custom tuned KW coilovers) and 18" wheels with 265/40 PS4S and...

Rear camber issue caused Pilot Sports to fail at 24k miles (M3P+)

Well, my experience over 50 years of driving, mostly in pot-hole ridden Chicago, is wildly different. Most of my cars maintained near perfectly stable alignment. The Tesla has been the ONLY one that was badly out of alignment when delivered (or within first 6000 miles of pot-hole free driving)...

Wondering if these EV01(+) Wheels will fit my M3LR

Eglove is breathtakingly succinct; you can believe him, however. The compatibility problems only arise when going from a wheel that works on a non-P and trying to put on a P. You will be happy with this move, especially if you order the Vredestein Wintrac Pro!

    Model Year 2022 Refresh M3/MY

Musta got a bad one; my M3P is the MOST rattle-free car I've ever had and I'm 69 and have owned many of the usual German suspects!

Sold my Model 3 after 3 years. Cost of ownership.

Uh, reading all of these amateur attempts to capture the entirety of the cost of ownership giving big headache; I think MIT researchers did a commendable job of demonstrating that EVEN WITHOUT INCENTIVES, Model 3 cheaper to own over (I think 5 year projection) than an Altima. If you like these...

Has anyone had a problem with dirty door sills after driving on wet roads?

It's definitely worse that my previous "quality" cars, ie bimmers and Porsches, but I forgive for all that I get!

Tesla auto wipers is a real danger

Well, I'm ok with pointing out deficiencies, but complaining about paying too much!! With the MPP chassis upgrades, I have a car that will humble supercars under almost any circumstances of real life, carry 4 people in comfort and costs next to nothing to run and maintain. Bitching about this...

Performance to Winter tire swap timing advice?

Vredestein Wintrac Pro. Awesome tires; CR not always right, but in any case these got highest rating of ANY tire they have ever tested; I use them on both Tesla M3P and my Series 1M BMW and would not hesitate to drive in summer in Chicago, tho you'd likely be better off with a top drawer A/S...

    Another Spare Tire Thread

I just bought 5 winter set-ups for my M3P. Used Alutec Monster (I think same people as Rial, made in Poland, not China; about $200 from Tire Rack) 18" and Vredestein performance winter tire that is fine as a spare and means I am still good if I wreck a wheel and they stop making this model...

Brake fluid in TM3-Performance - DOT 4 or still hamster piss?

Can't imagine bothering with DOT 4 in a car that will not see track duty; I use the aforementioned ATE 200 in my 1M Bimmer cuz I do occasionally track which is the only place you are ever going to "boil" the hamster piss (sic). As someone else mentions, DOT 3 does not take up water as fast and...

    Model 3 12v battery dead

I'm with you in that I do not understand how it happens that so many seem to have these early failures. I have a 2011 BMW, cars which even then were notorious for having short batter life due to power suck when "off"; by using a tender most times, I am at 10 years and 50,000 miles with no sign...

Thoroughly impressed [with my model 3 LR]

I'm on board with your impression after 1 yr and 11K miles, but would moderate my praise only by noting that NOT the best car for cross-country unless the trip is planned as being part of the fun; need to charge to often and too long to be truly competitive with ICE if main object is to get to...

Model Y acceration boost vs Lambo Huracan

No question, a big part of the Tesla advantage is the ease of achieving potential irrespective of conditions or driver (the other two being VERY respectable power and INSTANT response.) Knew I needed a Tesla when I got hole-shot (driving my modded BMW 1M) by a Model X in marginal (aka sl damp)...

Only Tesla can do the alignment??

Had my alignment checked (they would not adjust "we don't work on Teslas") at a Firestone since was wearing out tires fast on M3P, inner tread mainly. Expected negative camber in excess, but was actually toe all wacked. Took to SC and they claimed not "their problem" implying that my driving...

    Tesla 3 Grey Performance Wheels/tires

Sorry, locals (I will drive 100 miles) only.
  37. E

    Tesla 3 Grey Performance Wheels/tires

Took off at 4500 miles; wheels are like new, tires are at 8/32 (9/32 new). Includes covers and TPMS. Will fit any Model 3, but TPMS will not work with 2021. Ask $2000 pick up in Chicago; will give tire totes if get at my apt downtown, not included if we meet somewhere within 100 miles.

Model 3 size - more like an Accord or more like a Civic?

Great site to compare interior (and any other) dimensions is Mazda "compare vehicles"; Tesla smokes everybody on headroom, kinda narrow and maybe a little shy on ultimate legroom. But, for example, beats out BMW 5 series for practical space...Honda Accord and Civic both are beneficiaries of...

Almost new 2020 20 inch Grey Model 3 Performance Wheels

If you want the identical product but in Chicago, come get mine for ONLY $2000. Seriously, the wheels are perfect take-offs with that being done at 4500 miles and showing 8/32nds on all 4. Complete with TPMS and bolt caps as shown above.

Model 3 Lack of Grip on Curves/Changing Lanes

I found the toe way out of wack on $25 alignment check (NOT with Tesla--they wanted $275 even if proved to be within spec) and had some related instability that was fixed when I replaced stock pieces with Mountain Pass and then had 4 wheel alignment. And by the way, I had no significant "hits"...

    FS: M3P 20” Wheels/Tires (Silver) Orlando FL $1750

FYI If those are the Tesla spec'd version of PS4S, they start life with only 9/32 per Tire Rack; MOST, if not all, other PS4S are, indeed, 9.5/32. So yours are in even better shape than you claimed!

Model 3 Stock Tire Replacement (<7k Miles)

Tirerack with not only send you the tire, they will also give local installers with ratings and prices; they will ship the tire to you or the installer of your choice. Best Song for Premium Audio?

Nice pick! Bela is not only amazing musician, he is very picky about sound on recordings and live performances. This one really shows off a wide range of dynamics and timbres.; no to mention, a fun listen.

    Best Song for Premium Audio?

I'm on board with this assessment. Had Bose in Porsche Macan that "blowse" compared to this one; likewise someone dissed this compared to Audi A3 B&O which I also had; that one is closer and dependent on material, but for classical I found the midrange in the Audi to be "peaky" and somewhat...

    2020 Model 3 Performance Wheels/Tires/TPMS, mint

The standard grey wheel set with Michelin PS4S 235/35 tires. Will fit any M3, but would need new TPMS for 2021's. The entire set has 4000 miles on it (swapped out for winters) and are absolutely immaculate. All 4 tires measure 8/32 as compared to 9/32 new. Only showing one as they all look...

    New to Model 3

    1. Have you actually compared? I have M3P and was pleasantly surprised by the ride quality which I would describe as firm, well-damped, rather like my M cars (E90 M3 and 1M) tho not quite so firm as the 1M...and I live in Chicago! When I switched to my Vredestein 18" 235/45 winters, I...
