    High Mileage Rental 3

You guys think same trim M3 but like a 2021 or a 2019 at 80K miles (ish) for the same price would be a safer bet to get into? Or should we avoid something like that as well?

    High Mileage Rental 3

Yeah I just watched the video and came to the same conclusion lol. I'm not gunna have that luxury at all with any of the ones we're lookin' at.

Woof haha. That would suck for sure. 😬

High Mileage (previous rental) Used Model 3

Would it be worth checking out a 2019 for the same trim and price but with only around 80K miles on it? It's gotta be 25K or less. The only way I can make it work is with the used tax credit unfortunately :/ Really appreciate the help. Thanks!

    High Mileage Rental 3

Sorry, left that out haha. I think the 110k mile one after the tax credit would be like $18,500 and the 114k mile one would be like $17,500. I'm seeing some other 2022s or 2019s that are also LR AWD and are only in the 80Ks of miles for similar prices..... and given what @afadeev has advised...

    High Mileage Rental 3

That's it. The interior was in good condition. Especially considering it was a rental with over 100k miles on it. It didn't look "beat to hell".......... drove and handled absolutely fine. Accelerated and braked just great. Everything worked nicely when my wife and I took them out to test. Also...

    High Mileage Rental 3

I know there's a lot of talk about this these days, so I apologize if this is redundant, but long story short: Rental Agencies are selling a lot of their M3 inventory. A lot of that inventory has landed at a really friendly and transparent used dealer near us that we trust and like. We're...

    2012-2015 Refurbished Battery Experience

Hi, everyone. Any 'vintage' model S owners out there that needed a HV battery replacement? I know that the dreaded $20K price tag is always affiliated with such an issue, but I've heard Tesla offers refurbished battery replacements. Anyone who's got refurbished ones, are they any good? What was...

Outta curiosity what does a T revision drive unit entail?

    Used Model S Repairs/Service History

Well everyone I can’t begin to thank you enough. This has been quite the journey and I appreciate all the support, advice, and shared experiences. That said, my wife shut this down pretty hard 😂 I don’t think it’s all bad though. It’s probably wise to stay away from a potential time bomb even if...

    Used Model S Repairs/Service History

Alrighty, folks I just got back from the test drive and have some interesting insights. It has premium connectivity and free supercharging for life which was probably a given. Confirmed 230ish miles of range on a full charge. Overall condition of the vehicle itself was pretty great considering...

Thanks! How do I put it into service mode? What would I look for? (I’ve never seen service mode’s interface before)

    Used Model S Repairs/Service History

Might be going to test drive it later today. Besides the stuff that @blodg1 mentioned is there anything else you guys think I should look out for or inquire?

I assume that's without selling my current PHEV? haha Word........ definitely the theme of this thread. I appreciate the advice!

This is super insightful. Thanks, @ChooseFreedom. I appreciate sharing the experience you've had with your 15. And yeah, I appreciate you checking out Sean's video and confirming that with me. It's a tough one, for sure. The young, dumb, gambling part of me says go for it, because if I don't...

Thanks so much for the insight. Based on what you know/have seen/have heard, should a 2014 P85 be avoided? Don’t know if it was a pre or post October build (just to your point exactly haha)

Found this quite interesting. Start at 1:47. It’s starting to look like that if it was going to fail it would have already done so? I know that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m home free or that it doesn’t have the chance of failing anymore hahaha. Just found his data intriguing. Thoughts?

    Used Model S Repairs/Service History

Thank you for all of the advice everyone. @blodg1 I'm having the owner check those things today and will report them back here. Still pretty on the fence, so I really appreciate the honesty and candor. Thanks, @gaswalla for always helping with these things. I swear you've helped me with these...

    Used Model S Repairs/Service History

Hi, y'all! Considering (yet again) a used 2014 model S with around 150K miles. Pretty nervous I'll be hit with some heavy upgrades, as it is pretty much out of warranty and I'd be paying for any battery/drivetrain stuff outta pocket as it comes closer to a quarter million miles. Does anyone here...

    Supercharger - Provo, UT

This is absolutely tremendous news. I’ve lived in the area for 6 years and the map has said coming this year for the past couple years haha. So glad to see this is coming. Thank you for providing this helpful Ugandan insightful update! Any idea on when they’d break ground?

    7 Seater Model Y

Looking for those with a 7 seater Model Y. Do you like it? Got kids? Use it every day or only on road trips/in a pinch? Uncomfortable for them? How’s it been so far? Welcome to any and all feedback/experience with this config. Not looking to buy soon; I just love to dream and plan long term...

    Potentially 1st Tesla

Hey, everyone! I thought I'd provide an update as well as a sort of "conclusion" to this whole thing. I'd like to first off thank everyone for their advice and opinions. Like I mentioned before, I'm new to this and your patience was much appreciated. Whether you advised me to roll the dice and...

    Potentially 1st Tesla

Ahhh lovely. Yeah, I couldn't agree more. My ex-step-mom used to have one and she was nice enough to let us take it out a few times and even once on a modest roadtrip. I'm also looking forward to regularly plugging in the Ford once we finally have a home. I think that'll add to the "EV effect"...

Only as long as we have to. It's a nice car and a great ride, but we're not head over heels about it or anything. We are planning to (hopefully) have more than three kids down the road (pun unintended 😂) so we'll need a third row. Honestly after what I've read and learned from everyone on here...

Message received. Glad we’ve turned to name calling lol Look, I know I appear even more overly sensitive for saying this, but if you’re not here for the OP’s main purpose, then I just don’t think we should be waisting our time. That’s all. 👍🏼

Wow. I mean......... wow. You really couldn't drop this, could ya? haha Why the heck are we talking about why SUVs are more dangerous in rollovers on this thread lol? Not what I came here to do, man. Please go back and reread my last response on this. I'm NOT defending top heavy SUVs. No need...

    Potentially 1st Tesla

Apparently I'm too young to even be on here at this point. No offense, but idk what that video really had to do with what we were talking about..... not super shocked that a car as old as that did so poorly. And it's a collision exactly like that where some height would help but I guess...

But that's only considering roll over accidents, correct? I could be (and wow.... am apparently VERY) wrong on this, but every other crash, the height and weight would be better than a Ford Fusion yeah? I'm not trying to dump on sedans or defend top heavy SUVs....... but the majority of...

She's currently in a 2014 Range Rover Evoque. We'll probably put the baby in there most of the time as it'll be safer with the higher ride height.

So you think I'd go through all the work of posting on here, and humbly and truthfully wanting to hear everyone's opinion and advice just to blow it off and give the wise majority the finger and tell myself I know better than all of them? Let's pump the brakes before we start acting like we all...

Thanks, gaswalla. I appreciate the advice and insight. As well as your cautious realism. Interesting. I mean.......they can't really do that to a Tesla, but I'm curious what the equivalent of a "quick fix" such as this would be.

    Potentially 1st Tesla

You might wanna check your math on that one, partner. I don't actually believe it was 0 people saying it was a good idea. Reread the first page or two of the thread. I remember there being a few. Anyways, I get the point. No need to point these things out to me :) . Don't forget..... I am the...

    Potentially 1st Tesla

Yeah, I don't know what motive a used dealer would have sabotaging one of their own vehicles on the lot when the one and only original owner gave it to them a few months ago. They wanna sell it. They gain nothing from doing anything like that to the car. I doubt a wreck or any sawdust has...
  47. samuelffrancis

    Potentially 1st Tesla

I doubt it was a wreck. The original owner that brought it into them said it had never been in an accident and the dents were from hitting things. I doubt he'd have the cocos to lie to the dealership's face like that when they also do pretty rigorous homework when they buy a vehicle for...

Thank you for understanding where I'm coming from. I know if it's "too good to be true" it probably is but...... I'm really trying to grill this one, and it could just be a golden ticket. Idk. Either way, thank you for understanding my excitement of this discovery and potential win. Half the...

Unless they're blatantly lying (which wouldn't necessarily shock me) it's a clean title. I've studied the CarFax pretty meticulously even though I'm aware that's not the whole story. I still really hear you. The fact they randomly dropped the price 10K is definitely suspicious enough to suspect...
