Better in every aspect. The G5 BRT has a more intense hotspot, the intensity remains nice and uniform throughout the cutoff giving it very nice width, has a step cutoff, very nice color band, and mounting points that make it easy to retrofit with brackets that are already out in the market.

Yes, red or blue would be illegal colors to drive in but these boards are designed to be DOT/SAE compliant as you can switch to white which is intended to be the color for the driving light. Or any other color you wish to use aside from red or blue.

Performance of the headlight also depends on the age of the bulb as well as proper leveling. The pre-facelift bi-xenon headlights can be retrofitted with much better projectors (optics) to really boost the performance of the headlight. We've done a few. If interested, feel free to PM :)

It doesn't affect the light output at all. The beam doesn't to fully disburse until a couple of feet in front of the car. Kudos for your DIY! Came out great. We've done many of these builds as well! If anyone is interested we have core sets in stock so there is 0 down time for the vehicle :)
