glass roofs have to go bye bye.

On the roof and rear windshield they are not. But, thanks, buddy.

glass roofs have to go bye bye.

I really wish EV makers would stop the trend of all glass roof. I never look up and all it does for me is generate more heat inside from the blazing sun. I end up tinting the entire glass roof and rear windshield in 15% tint for all my cars. On top of that, I also buy folding shades/cover if...

Vendor M14x1.5 grade 5 titanium lug nuts set of 20 that fit Tesla model S 3 X Y

Just to confirm, these lug nuts are conical seat? Can the caps (for med/long nuts) come off while the nuts are still on the wheels? Also, any ETA on when the rainbow valve stem caps will be back in stock?

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Ah, I forgot. You’re right. Model 3 and Y ordering is different. I’m used to not paying for the bigger wheel option with S and X’s. Well, in that case.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

No thanks. I can get much better aftermarket wheels for Tesla’s asking price.

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

What I come to realize (too late) is that incorporating a falcon wing door design on the Model X kind of works against the general structural integrity. It isn't as solid as a normal 4-door vehicle by having those huge gaps for the FWD in the middle of the car. This leads to all sorts of creaks...

Is the cost of PPF worth it?

Is it worth it? Depends on how much you care about keeping the car looking nice and clean all the time. I get full PPF so that whenever I wash the car (frequently), it’s easier and quicker to clean, and I don’t need to ever worry about swirl marks. Of course, it helps to prevent 99% of chips on...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

I picked up a new 2024 Model X about a month ago and I have this same vibration issue. It’s crazy to think my OG Model X from 2016 feels like riding on pillows whereas this brand new X feels like riding around with a constant vibrating chair. I’ve taken it back two times, and both times they...

March 2024 MX Delivery Info Share

I swear, people need to stop spreading fake rumors about front camera and interior lights. That crud has been going on for way too long.
  13. T

Anyone running 275s in the front?

I’ll be putting on 275/40/21 and 295/40/21 on 9.5” fronts and 10.5” rears when my custom wheels come in. I dislike narrow looking tire setups.

March 2024 MX Delivery Info Share

Don't worry, they'll most likely continue to provide free FSD and FUSC transfer, especially on the slow selling Model S and X. Tesla put up all those warnings about getting your order in before end of quarter last year, yet they continued to allow the transfer this very next quarter. Same will...

Used X plaid prices! Could they get to the 60s by the end of the year?

The one thing about Plaid is the market is a lot smaller given that the only seating arrangement you can get it with is the captains 6-seater. It’s very not useful for us wanting an adult next to a little one in the second row, and not being able to haul bigger things since the seats can’t fold.

Used X plaid prices! Could they get to the 60s by the end of the year?

I was getting PPF and tint done the other day to our new X, and there was another customer picking up his new S and another dropping off a new X as well. Both of them also mentioned transfer of FSD or free supercharging as the number one reason for buying a new Tesla. We most likely would not...

Used X plaid prices! Could they get to the 60s by the end of the year?

Only reason we bought a new X was due to the transfer of free supercharging. With how much we drive and our overnight charging rate, it saves us about $4,000/year. Likewise others might buy a new one to get FSD transfer. But, I agree, besides those situations, there’s little reason to buy new...

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

How are people doing it online? When I enter in VIN and (temp) license plate number, it won't let me go through the process saying this: Error: This vehicle is not in DMV records. If you recently purchased the vehicle from a dealership, wait until you receive its registration card before...

Don't get a ticket with Tesla Insurance

Interesting. Very interesting. We have had State Farm homeowner's insurance for a very long time with zero claims ever. Yet, they always quote me the highest of every quote I get for auto insurance, every year. Higher than Farmers, higher than AAA, higher than Chubb, higher than Amica...

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

Trying to decide how much I want to get 22's (versus 21's) with the kinds of roads I have around. Any ideas whether 265-40-22 on 22x9.5 et25 and 295-35-22 on 22x10.5 et25 work on the Model X?

    Alignment and air filter =$1000?

Ohh, I forgot about that cabin filter. Now, I remember the tech that changed out the HEPA filter for our X told me that the cabin filter doesn't even need changing due to the generously oversized HEPA filter.

    Model X: Average Wh/mile Tracker

Ditto these efficiencies with our 2016 Model X Ludicrous. I thought the new X’s were supposed to be a lot more efficient?

My old MX charges better than my old body

The thing I don’t like about Tesla is that three different people with the same year model X can have three different charging curves.
  28. T

    Alignment and air filter =$1000?

Thats strange. You can’t even buy a filter for the Y over the counter for that cheap. Regardless, the Model X HEPA filter is gigantic compared to thr Model Y filter. So, it’s no wonder Tesla charges that much for a Model X filter service. Even generic HEPA filter for the X is over $200.

I see more likelihood of colors being free before any price drop.

2023 Model X Plaid vs. Long Range, that is the question...

That’s nice. So, you basically got FSD for free in lieu of a few thousand miles driven since that’s about the price of a brand new plaid now with the red and white options.

    Deliveries after 1/1/2024

Dont worry. They had that stipulation last quarter as well, but it still applied to everyone that took delivery after Dec 31. Pretty damn sure they’ll be okay this time as well as long as your order is in before March 31. And, to continue, I have a feeling they will have the transfer promo for...

    Supercharger Full

Around here, it’s mostly slower urban and V2 because Tesla installed them a while back before the V3’s. And, I’ve never seen Tesla upgrade a station since the very first station went online, whether from urban to V2 or V2 to V3. There are a lot of V3 stations as well, don’t get me wrong, though.

FSD AND FUSC Transfer Offer this Quarter?

No such thing even in prior transfer promos for the US market.
  36. T

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

You’ll never get an open supercharger then. Even nowadays, I have to sometimes wait for supercharging when shopping at Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, CVS, Walgreens, etc. (In CA). In the middle of the week, too.
  37. T

Custom wheels: what is best width and offset for perfect square setup on X?

Ah, I see what you mean. Plugging in those numbers into a tire calculator, that’s only 1% difference. I’m actually not sure where Tesla reads the rotations for speedometer/odometer. Good question.
  38. T

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I highly doubt that. Tesla is a stickler for giving you only what you ordered if it’s to their advantage. He would have to cancel the order and place a new order now to get those transferred. But, would have to select the SG color instead to keep tax credit eligible.
  39. T

Custom wheels: what is best width and offset for perfect square setup on X?

No, that just depends on making sure the overall diameter with the tires is the same. Width and offset have no impact on speedometer/odometer.

FSD AND FUSC Transfer Offer this Quarter?

As I thought. That screenshot shows nothing about Model 3 being eligible to transfer FUSC to—unlike a lot of people online saying so, including the Sawyer guy who started this nonsense on Twitter. Plus, still nothing about whether inventory and referral discounts stick—unlike the same people on...
  42. T

FSD AND FUSC Transfer Offer this Quarter?

Don’t forget, the only discount that can be added along with a supercharging transfer is the Cybertruck reservation $1,000 offer. All discounted inventory models will add back the discount if you transfer free supercharging. Unless they changed that restriction this go around. But, I have yet...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

How can you be barred from receiving support if you can’t even get support to begin with, hah.
  44. T

FSD AND FUSC Transfer Offer this Quarter?

Yea, no man. Stop believing everything you read online. The supercharging transfer statement said nothing of 6 years or whatsoever. In fact, it’s the exact same language, word for word, except they switched the terms FSD with FUSC as you see above for the supercharging transfer document. Lazy...

That sounds very much a Tesla way of doing things. Classic Tesla. “You don't like what you get, then F’ off.”

    Supercharger Full

Sounds like you haven’t been in the San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles recently. I’m more often than should be waiting for a supercharger in the middle of the day in the middle of the week. And there’s dozens of stations near me. It doesn’t help that every single one of these stations are...

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

I wou I wouldn’t trust everything this Tesla agent said. Not only are Tesla agents as unreliable as a 30-day weather forecast, this chat won’t stick in any argument against Tesla corporate if you actually tried to get what is not actually part of the promo. Unless we see official Tesla...
