    Duplicate day-of-reveal orders

I had the same problem. Only one duplicate for me. The first reservation was RWD and no FSD. The email to order came in on the 8th. Same Founders options as everyone else. The duplicate reservation was for dual motor and FSD. No invite for that one yet. I ordered an AWD on the 9th. We shall...

    Supercharger - Natalia, TX

Stopped by this location on Sunday. The truck stop itself is still under construction. The building shell is up, but no pavement yet. It’s a big place. The sign is up with the Valero gas brand and two eateries on it. No signs of a supercharger, but still too early.

    Supercharger - Dilley, TX

I stopped by the Taco Palenque on Thanksgiving and the HPWC is still mounted on the wall, but I didn’t try to charge. Looks like it is still in good shape.

Does anyone with AP1 (or pre-AP1) have got any 2019 software updates?

I have a 2013 S without the tech package. Just upgraded from 2018.50.6 directly to 2019.12.1.1 Dog mode, new Atari games, Software tab in settings, and multi language support. Browser is now rendering pages that didn’t work before. It also says I have on-route battery warmup which is weird...

    Tesla Wifi Sux

Yes, you understand what's going on. I tested a second AP also with the same results. It is funny that the Tesla has DLNA and UPnP enabled in the first place. It is probably on by default in the Embedded Linux that they use and Tesla doesn't even know it. I am going to share my network...

    Tesla Wifi Sux

When your car connects to your wireless network it looks for multimedia devices like blu-ray players and streaming TV boxes using DNLA. Some devices confuse the Tesla causing the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth radios to reset. When the car connects again the cycle repeats. Isolate your car from your...

Firmware 6.2 - Navigation for non tech package?

You're correct. There are cars with premium sound, but no tech package. The MCU in cars with premium sound just happens to be Nav-ready even in cars without the Tech package. Only a software install is needed to enable Nav on these cars. Cars with standard sound, however, don't come with a...

Firmware 6.2 - Navigation for non tech package?

Yes. My service center sent me a quote in September and I followed up in person today. My advisor is confirming with HQ to make sure the offer is still valid.

    Audio: Sound System Quality?

I have standard audio with the Reus upgrade. V6.2 made a noticeable improvement in audio quality for me. I was listening to the same USB drive in a new (Nov 2014) loaner with upgraded audio that was still on v6.1 before picking up my car. Wow!

V6.2 (2.4.124) arrived on my non-tech standard audio car today. I am VIN P039xx. Features we get include: Range Assurance, Valet Mode, Improved Search Results in Maps, and Faster Instrument Cluster Wakeup Time from Energy Saving Mode. There was no mention of the new audio codec in the...

Is there a 40 amp charging solution for home?

I had the same problem. Electrician installed a 14-50 outlet on the 40 amp circuit. I charge at 32 amps and all is well. Installing a new 50 amp circuit would have cost over a grand.

    iPhone 6 Bluetooth Handsfree

I had the same problem and talked to Tesla today about it. (They are getting lots of calls on this.) The fix is to just reboot the phone when you get the "Dialing..." problem. Tesla said the iPhone 6 Plus is sending bogus data over the Bluetooth connection. The only way to fix is a phone...

Temporary / Emergency charging via direct attachment to the Electical Panel

I have ran into the same issue. The label on the panel lid says which breaker to get and I just pick one up at Home Depot. 240v breakers are double pole so sometimes you have to move another breaker out of the way to make room. I now have a kit I bring with me that includes three and four...

Temporary / Emergency charging via direct attachment to the Electical Panel

Well done! Making a hook out of plexiglass is a great idea. My temporary setup uses a 50 amp oven outlet from Home Depot that is already fully enclosed. The clip on ground is also pretty handy when you can't find an open slot on the ground bus bar. Thanks for the detailed write up!

How to save maps of Superchargers?

Yeah, sometimes it can't automatically detect the superchargers along your route so you need to add them manually. To add a supercharger manually, click the Tesla shield on the map where the supercharger is and a window will pop up. Click the "Charge Here" button in the window and the...

Car keeps telling me to “Add a Wi-Fi Connection”

I had the same problem. My service center explained that this happens when you connect to a mobile hotspot in "tether mode." You can see that you're in tether mode on your iPhone or iPad when you get two chain links instead of a wifi icon after connecting. I had both my home wifi and mobile...

Day trip Austin-Plano tomorrow. Advice for a quick charge in Plano/Dallas?

Great info on the Austin-Plano trip! Never thought of a dog leg through Corsicana. I am making the same trip in my 60 next week and will give it a try. It is funny how Austin has mostly Chargepoint chargers while DFW is dominated by Blink. I requested a Blink card so I could charge there just...

A senior tesla executive's comforting answer to concerns re: "loss of range"

A month ago I took the family on a road trip in my 60. I hit zero much earlier than I expected. I turned on range mode, turned off the HVAC, and started driving slow. To my surprise, I was able to go almost 40 miles with "Charge Now" on the dash before reaching my destination.

Trouble re iTunes MP4a files playing on usb

AIFF is the only Lossless format that both iTunes and Tesla recognize. It is uncompressed, but includes metadata. Sound quality should be the same, but some audiophiles prefer AIFF. iTunes can convert ALAC and rip CD's directly to AIFF. I also have 24/96 DVD Audio songs in AIFF. Why bother...

    Houston, TX

Visited the Galleria today. Used my UMC to charge. The store staff gave me directions, met me at the chargers, and escorted me to the store. Nice folks! The Galleria plus the Columbus Superchargers made the trip from Austin in my 60 a breeze. Thanks Stephen!

    Houston, TX

After the Columbus Supercharger opens, I plan to visit Houston in my 60. Once I get to Houston, I need a place to charge so I can drive back home to Austin. Does the Tesla Store at the Galleria have Tesla chargers nearby like we do in Austin? How about the Service Center? I would rather...

    Supercharging on 60kWh

We just talked about this in the Texas Supercharger thread. 60's max out at 70kW no matter what. Only 85's can come close to 90kW. Hopefully this will change with v5.0. Has anyone with a 60 running v5.0 seen a difference at a 120kW supercharger?

    Audio: Sound System Quality?

Austin is a great city to own a Tesla. We have an active owners club, a supportive power company, well placed superchargers, and a top notch service center. (They hired the mechanics away from Lexus.) The people at the showroom are also good about taking care of owners after the sale. This...

Has anyone gotten their local credit union to finance the Model S

I used Spokane Federal Credit Union in Spokane, WA who financed 100% of the purchase price for 84 months at 1.4% interest. They also sent me a gift card for free car washes. I live in Austin, TX where Tesla can't sell cars directly. My Tesla sales rep in Denver called the credit union and...
