Anyone know what cable goes in this charging socket?

That is an Australian Standard 32A single phase outlet. I made an adaptor to my 32A 3 phase 22kW charge adapter to utilise those outlets for my vehicle.

    Tesla HPWC misbehaving

Australia here, I have several HPWC Gen 2 on my workbench (incl. a type 2 test box) and they all have the same issue: You can switch them to Legacy (Type2) mode or to Tesla mode and both modes worked OK in the past. But now we have the following issue: 1) The HPWC performs the self test (rotary...

No battery sticker on my CPO

I have the same issue, no sticker. Is there a way to read out the version via software (Scan My Tesla)?

    MCU upgrade/replacement for early vehicles

Had an MCU Tegra Update (from eMMC 8GB to 64GB) done at the Sydney (AUS) SC for around AU$500. Given the positive experience with US and EURO eMMC upgrades via 3rd party repairers I think that this is a more cost effective way to resolve the MCU1 issues compared to the AU$4000 MCU2 upgrade which...

P85 drive unit the same as a p85+ drive unit?

On my 85P+ Signature the DU got replaced at the Sydney (AUS) SC: ASY,P-TRAIN,RMN,MDLS,SPORT,CMC,HS(1025598-00-T) I think the RMN indicates a re-manufactured unit and the T a late version. Was done on warranty despite the 288 000km the vehicle had traveled.

    Legacy mode

I have seen several HPWCs by now and there are 3 versions at least: 1) There is a rotary switch for current and DIP SW2 to select Legacy mode. 2) As above but DIP2 does nothing, its in Tesla only mode. 3) There is only a rotary switch to select a current. Note that the HPWC employs a good...

    Destination charger settings

On older HPWC DIP switch 2 in the down position gives a Type 2 charge control signal on the CP pin which works for Teslas and other EVs. This is called Legacy mode in Tesla speak and is a 1kHz +-12V signal towards the earth pin. On newer HPWCs the switch does nothing or there are no DIP...

    Light sensor position

I own a Nose Cone with Xenon lights. When getting the car out of the shed it switches the lights on for a few seconds and then off again. Same when i park the car. Can't be heathy for the bulbs and yes, a few days ago one failed. The exchange was an amazing experience....but i really like to...

Tesla Makes Top Three In List Of Most Trusted Car Brands In OZ

I think this result in Australia is not so much because of Tesla as a company but the sheer dedication and enthusiasm of the Service Centres here. I only have experiences with the ones in Sydney and Brisbane but both are nothing but excellent and bend over backwards to assist you. If there is an...

    Legacy mode

Looks like the newer BMW I3 come with a CCS2 port which includes a standard Type 2 charge port. This means he does not need an adapter.

    Destination charger settings

Scanning through various forums it appears that some HPWCs (newer models / different markets ?) cannot be switched (DIP Sw. 2 down) to Legacy (Type 2 protocol) mode. The current Tesla HPWC manual says leave DIP Sw 2 in the up position. Can anybody share some light on this one, please?

    Legacy mode

Thanks for sussing that out. Sad news though. I was recommending hotels / motels to get a Destination Charger...I will not do this any more. I wonder when this was changed.

    Legacy mode

Ok, is a newer model then. Are you sure the dip switch 2 is all the way down ? Just push it up and then down again (unit unplugged).

    Legacy mode

I have many reports that it does work with the BMW I3. There is a very basic 'handshake' between charger and vehicle and in Legathy mode the Destination charger becomes a standart Type 2 charger. As the I3 has a Type 1 port you will need an adapter cable. However all signals are the same, the...

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

Absolutely. There are people living remotely (I live 500km from the next SC) who need to be able to maintain their vehicle themselves or by a 3rd party work shop.......just like any other car. Teslas current policies cost them customers.

    Legacy mode

yes the one next to 1. Make sure the unit is unplugged then changing switch position.

    Legacy mode

All Tesla charge ok in both modes. The dip switch is the on on the right in your drawing not the rotary switch.....just to make sure.

    Legacy mode

Inside the unit there are DIP switches. Switch 2 is the mode switch.

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

Hi, I have read that an Austrian guy who had his eMMC replaced by LuckyLuke got the Tesla certificates after legal action as the Tesla policy contradicts EU-consumer laws which state that a manufacturer has to supply parts and info to 3rd party repairers to keep the product in working order.
