Supercharger not charging to set limit

I have the M3 LR set to charge to 85%. While charging at a Supercharger today, I got an alert that the car was charged to 80%, and the 5-minute grace period was starting. Could this shortfall be because all eight Superchargers were in use? If it matters, the nav system had no destination set...

Got my Wall Connector installed today

Finally got my Wall Adaptor installed today. I had a bit fumbling getting my iPhone connected to it, but finally prevailed. It was smooth sailing thereafter. But when I disconnected my ChargePoint, I discovered that it didn't have a 14-50 plug with corresponding outlet as I had thought, but a...

    Visualization error

There is some major roadwork near my house; there are these orange and white barrels lining the road. But the visualization on the touch screen displays them as cones. Can't Tesla get anything right? (For the humor impaired, I'm joking. What I described is accurate, but my "complaint" is a...

    Smart Summon Snafu

I tried to demonstrate smart summon to some friends today. I was standing at the spot labeled "Me"; the car was parked at the spot marked "Car". The red line was the path the car took when I tried to smart summon it.

    Summon problem

If my car is in the garage, summon works very well to move it onto the driveway. But if it's in the driveway, Summon can't connect to the car whether I'm in the garage or in the driveway.

AP display on the touch screen

Two things I've noticed about the AP display on the touch screen. The spacing of the two blue parallel lines varies according to the width of the lane. When the lane is narrow, the lines are closer to the image of the vehicle, and vice versa when the lane is wide. The steering-wheel icon...

Had to drive my PHEV today

I drove my leased Ford Fusion Energi PHEV to the dealer today to return it. And after only two days of driving the M3 it was an amazing difference. Most noticeably, the brakes were not as strong; I had to push the pedal much harder than on the M3. Also, the AutoPilot on the M3 was more...

    First impressions

First of all, I have no regrets about buying this M3. I do wonder, though, whether I should have bought the SR+ instead of the LR. I wonder whether the nine grand is worth the extra 72 miles EPA range, considering that that would be a concern only two or three times a year. Oh well, done is...

    What features should I activate?

I'll be picking up my M3 LR FSD in a week. What features should I activate before leaving the lot? What features should I expect to be activated already? And what features should I not bother with until after I get home? I will have a USB device with me to plug in for TeslaCam, so that's one...

    Battery swap?

When I first read about the Model S way back in 2012 or so, I seem to recall that Tesla was going to offer the option of pulling into a Tesla service station and having them swap batteries, as a speedier alternative to recharging. Am I imagining this, or was this something actually announced?

    How long does delivery take?

Typically, how long does it take from the time I'll arrive at the location until I'll be able to drive away? I will have to sign documents, I sssume, and I will certainly have to write a check and show my drivers license and proof of insurance. And add the time to inspect the car.

    Looking up my VIN

Of course, one of the first things I did on line after receiving my VIN was to look it up. Here's one of the results I found: "We found the following match for the VIN you entered. "2020 Tesla 3 Long Range (Electric) 15 Cylinders 0.0L 202 kW 271 HP" 15 Cylinders??? At least they got the...

    Isn't it curious?

Isn't it curious that now that we're within a realistic five-week window for delivery of our Teslas, that the Wall Connector is suddenly back in stock? I wonder whether they've been in stock all along on Teslas European web sites.

    Brake fluid?

The Tesla DIY maintenance guide (Do It Yourself - Model 3) says that windshield wiper fluid is the only fluid you have to add to the vehicle. But the car has friction brakes in addition to regenerative braking; doesn't that require brake fluid?

    A better route planner? Really?

last week I had to go to a meeting about 105 miles from my house; no problem with my Ford Fusion Energi. I'm back, at least temporarily.

I realized today that I do not have to wait until the lease is up on my Fusion. Because I paid the lease fee in full up front, I have no payments, so I don't have to wait until the end of the lease to buy a new Tesla. And if I close the CDs before they mature, I will lose only about $120 in...

I have an L2 charger in my garage. It's position works fine for my PHEV, with the charge port near the front. FSD monthly.

I read that starting sometime late this year, FSD will be available on a monthly basis. Because I'm going to be leasing my M3 LR, if the payments are less than the difference in lease payments, it would be less expensive to go that route than to buy it.
