    Custom utility trailer

I’ve been scouring Pinterest and other sites for something that matches what I want for a trailer to tow behind my Model Y. I’ve found trailers with various aspects of what I want, but none that pull everything together into a single trailer. Here’s what I’m looking for: Smallish utility...

Question about jacking up Y and changing rims

I guess I will go ahead and buy pucks to be safe, but if they’re recommended to change a tire, why would they not be standard equipment? Very odd. I’ve owned my Y for 2 months and already had 2 flat tires. I live in rural SC, 2.5 hours from the nearest Tesla service center in Charlotte, NC...

Question about jacking up Y and changing rims

Hmmm. I had a tire with a nail in it from the moment I drove off the lot (suspected, not proven). Since it took me a couple of weeks to notice the slow drop in pressure and I live 2.5 hours from the Tesla dealership, I took it to a local tire shop. They asked me about the pucks and I’d never...

Large difference between estimated range and actual range

Thank you all for the responses. All were very helpful. I never expected the estimated range to be 100% accurate, but didn’t expect it to be THIS inaccurate. Yes, my commute is probably 80% highway travel at about 60-75 MPH so I guess I’m getting a fairly average result. I did go read the...

Large difference between estimated range and actual range

I’ve had my Model Y about a week now and am curious if the discrepancy I’m seeing between estimated range and actual range is “normal.” I have a 50 mile commute to work, but my estimated range drops by 70-80 miles each way, so rather than burning 100 miles in range per day, I’m burning about 50%...

Can the Model Y power a tailgate setup?

Thanks! That’s what I thought. I’m hoping that if I replace my tailgate TV with a “smart TV” that doesn’t require a separate streaming device and has enough output volume to eliminate the need for an external amp, the car can handle it (just powering the TV and nothing else).

Can the Model Y power a tailgate setup?

For tailgating, I’ve used a small generator to power an LCD TV, an AppleTV and a small, portable PA system to amplify the sound. I then use the ESPN app to stream live sports. Can the Model Y power that much equipment using a power inverter or will I still need my generator?
