    Battery won’t charge

Have updated the service request and added it as another issue, rather than just in the chat (not sure if theres any actual difference, but maybe its read by a different person) - also made it clear it's not usable and if it goes much lower it wont make it to Edinburgh, lets see if this prompts...

    Battery won’t charge

Does the 3 weeks include the time waiting for the replacement battery or is that after they have the battery? I’m now at a month since they supposedly have ordered the parts needed :( Also 3 batteries!?!? Same issue with all?

    Battery won’t charge

Yep still under warranty. They haven’t provided a loaner yet as it was still drivable until the weekend - I messaged them on Monday on the original service request and they responded on Wednesday asking if it was drivable - so I pointed out that if it goes much lower and won’t charge I won’t...

    Battery won’t charge

mine is now also displaying this - originally I had the warning “max charge level and range reduced” pop up end of January which was intermittent at first and then came on permanently in feb - I am currently waiting a new battery for this but was told it’s fine to drive for now… Last weekend it...

Tesla App unable to wake car since update

So the problem, whatever it was, seems to have resolved itself after a reboot :) Nope, it was scheduled by Octopus to charge between 1500 - 1600 yesterday, but didn't wake, opening the door clearly woke it up and it must have received the command to charge from Octopus, it stopped at 1600 but...

Tesla App unable to wake car since update

They all seem to be working fine in area - have also disabled wifi to see if thats an issue. Yep. So update - something is defintley messed up, as it was charging at 1500,when it was awake, now 50 minutes later the Tesla app can't connect to it again and charging seems to have ceased. Going...

Tesla App unable to wake car since update

My car updated to 2024.2.8 a few nights ago, since then when it goes to sleep the Tesla app is unable to wake it up and it appears (given it didn't charge as scheduled last night) Octopus are also unable to wake it to start charges. Octopus had scheduled it to charge at 1500 today, but it also...

0% Battery Drain, Whilst Away on Holiday

Nope, it's a safety feature to prevent a child / pet who has been left in the car accidently from being cooked on hot days. https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_jp/GUID-4F3599A1-20D9-4A49-B4A0-5261F957C096.html

0% Battery Drain, Whilst Away on Holiday

Yep, I leave mine for 3 months at a time and only see a few % drop over that time usually. As long as Sentry is disabled (Cabin overheat only works for first 12/24 hours after parking so doesn't really make a difference) and you dont open the app every 5 minutes it uses pretty much zero battery.

    MOT Lanarkshire

Since we’re all starting to come due for MOTs - I took mine to local garage I’ve used for my previous cars this morning and they were excellent; Mine was apparently the first Tesla they had done but they had printed the Tesla guidance on how to do the checks and all done without issue within 40...

Bonnet came loose and flew up on our Model S at 40mph

Just out of interest, if something was to hit the emergency release inside the bonnet while the car was moving does it unlatch or does the software prevent it from opening?

LV insurance hike - quick sense check

Just got my renewal quote today (Churchill) - its jumped from the £422 last year to £679 this year... Annoyingly the cheapest I can find on comparethemarket is £660 with a huge excess!

    Spotify has switched to German?

Mine hasn't switched to German, but it has logged out and won't log back in again (nor will the "use car account" do anything)!!

Important PSA for Tesla owners - lock the car from the touchscreen if inside

It's kind of logical, I mean if your driving your car and you lock it from the screen (assuming you don't have auto lock on), you dont want it to just unlock if some random person pulls a door handle at traffic lights - otherwise what's the point in the door lock?? As for kids doing it...

    Leaving Someone in Car..

I just leave the phone in the car if its only for a short while, otherwise, i leave the door slightly unlatched.

    My Airport Parking Experience

It'll be fine - I work away for 3-4 months at a time and regularly leave the car unplugged - as long as sentry is disabled, the car never loses much.

How likely is keyless theft 2023

You can also bypass the pin to drive and start the car from your Tesla app on the main drivers phone (handy, when I collected mine from service centre after they closed and it wouldn't accept my pin)

    Buying Software Upgrades

You can just purchase in the Tesla App and your configuration change will take affect next time the car reboots.

    (Geo)fenced in...

I encountered same "problem" in Edinburgh after Christmas also with leaking boot and fix of some wiring cable they decided to do at same time. When you go to pick it up, if its still parked within their "geofenced area" - you'll need to use your Tesla App to start the car (and bypass the...

Ice & water in lower boot

I’ve found a bunch of ice in the lower part of the boot of my m3 - thought it was initially from frozen water bottles but seems it was from water leaking in through the seal at bottom of the door (presumably when I was pressure washing); None of this was visible until it froze - I removed the...

Glad you’ve also had similar - Sentry is clearly the battery killer (closely followed by obsessive app checking) :)

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

So I have finally made it home after an unexpected extra month and as of 8am this very cold morning I’m at 55% battery (down from 84 on day 1) after 3 months and 24 days. Other than being in need of a pressure wash to remove all the green the car seems happy enough :)

2022.24.6 and Spotify on standard connectivity in the UK

I assume you know you can actually sign up for Spotify free account and deal with the odd advert - it used to work in the car if you signed in with it over the wifi - I assume it still does

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

I am currently in process of doing it again; 4th of August: 84% 12th of September: 78% and an update waiting to install Same as before - parked in driveway in sunny Scotland, unplugged, locked and sentry disabled (presumably it’s picking up the wifi from house if it’s downloaded an update) I...

    Alarm on unlock issue

As a temporary solution; when you open the car press the handle in, wait until you hear the click of the main breaker engaging before you pull the door open - it will avoid upsetting the neighbours in the morning :)
  29. A

    2022.20

On day 4 of it going off randomly however I have found that pressing the handle in and waiting till you hear the click of the main breaker before pulling the door opens seems to give the car enough time to disable the alarm and avoids upsetting the neighbours at 7am. I assume someone has...

    High pitched beep on unlocking

It's a fault with the latest software update they pushed out to the cars - seems that the car doesn't recognise the phone key and disable the alarm quick enough when you open the door after it's been sleeping - you can prevent it going off by pressing the handle, waiting till you hear the car...

    Insurance UK

Yep, as it was predicted by all to do... Seems as usual, goverment and their "lets stop lazy people who can't be bothered spending a few minutes to get a new quote from being over charged" has resulted in eveyone now being equally screwed over :)

    Insurance UK

Have just renewed with Churchill (mine is up on 2nd September), mine has gone up by £92 over what I paid last year to £422 (£250 excess and also includes Roadside breakdown with greenflag) - however was still £60 cheaper than the cheapest I found on comparethemarket!

    2022.20

Nice to know it's not just me! How they managed to bugger it up is quite concerning - not like it's not the main way they advertise of opening your car - you'd think they might have tested it! Thankfully mine only seems to trigger the alarm first thing in the morning or after it's been left for...

Charge place scotland since takeover - all fine?

These blue/white CCS/CHADEMO/AC "rapid" chargers they have are a PITA - they will randomly work no problem, then the exact same charger on a different day will refuse to start the charge; I gave up reporting issues with them after getting a wonderful response from CPS basically saying "some cars...

    Insurance UK

That's good to know - Im pretty much same 36, 11 years no claims, just a bit further from Edinburgh and it went down £100 last year with Churchill over what they charged the first year, so hopefully it stays same or doesn't vary too much when it's due end of August.

"Cheap" EV runaround... what would you get?

Sister has just gotten the new Fiat 500e last Tuesday - she loves it - had a quick shot in it and it’s nippy enough; apparently 200 miles in it’s normal “range” mode but potentially double if you switch it to “Sherpa” mode (although that does disable AC/Heating/Seat heaters and limits the car to...

Music System Keeps Pushing Me to Spotify "Radio" Options

Sorry to bring up an old thread but it matched closest to what I was trying to do; You used to be able to search for an artist and play all songs by that artist now there doesn’t seem to be an option for that unless I am missing it? I know you can search and press view all songs but as soon as...

    Superchargers being increased in Scotland

As of about 2 weeks ago they now have ANPR cameras in car park due to numbers of people abandoning cars in their car park and commuting. You now need to go into reception and enter your registration - signage was in place today when I passed by (I asked when it started they said 2 weeks ago as...

    “Theatre” disappeared?

Bit of an odd one here; Went to watch YouTube while charging and the entire Theatre app is just blank - arcade and toy box work but the theatre tab is just a blank screen? I tried rebooting the car but still the same - as far as I know it’s not done any recent software updates so just...

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

Being in a slightly unique situation where I regularly have to go away for a few months at a time (at least now covid has passed) I was concerned about leaving the car for so long unplugged but I’m happy to report that in 3 months unplugged the car only lost 18 percent charge and other than...

Wireless charging in M3 makes phone very hot

It doesn’t help that the vibration of the car causes it to constantly stop and start charging (you’ll hear your phone constantly beep if you have the charging notification sounds on) - mine seems to charge faster screen down on the pad - especially when it’s in its case if you try that you might...

    Winter Range

Had a similar experience at end of September last year - driving down to Folkstone from Glasgow... Stated Range vs Real World

As the others have said - a series of short journeys will obliterate your range (even in summer - although less so)… Air temperature is meaningless with regards to battery (to an extent) other than you might decide you don’t need to use the AC / heating when driving! Your 5 minute drive will...

Autopilot - do you use in frequent lane change conditions?

Personally I would see how you get on with the standard autopilot - I had a brief free trial of FSD and the navigate on autopilot / auto lane change didn’t sell it for me. If your driving what I would call fairly normally - set your cruise control to whatever, engage autosteer and leave it to...

No drive and blank screen on entry

If you're already driving and the MCU fails / decides to reboot, you can continue driving, everything else seems to continue to function (you can even go into reverse and park)... But I have no idea if you would be able to start driving with it down - with pin to drive I guess probably not -...

No drive and blank screen on entry

If its only occured once (or even a 2-3 times in a year) I wouldn't worry about it - any more frequently and definitley report it to Tesla. I've had it occur maybe 3 times in year and half of ownership - first time was within first week of ownership, the other times were not immediately after a...

Email from TAPTES really promoting a weighted ring to fool AP ???

I found that wedging (more placing against) your thigh against the bottom of the wheel provides just enough resistance for it to stop nagging you (I have long legs) most of the time.
