How to save dash cam clip when set to manual.

On my 2020, there is the settable Dashcam option to save when you honk the horn.

    MCU2 Failure

They generally use the old card.

    MCU2 Failure

The MCU has a 16GB SD memory card it uses to store Navigation data. For some reason Tesla generally does not replace this card when switching out the MCU, and the early SD cards, 2015 included, were not designed for 8 -10 years use, and fail. I'd sure tell Tesla to replace that first and see if...

Help with Tesla Loan/Name on order agreement

With your mom as second, she is jointly (with you) and severally (by herself) for fulfilling the loan. She is underwriting your loan. That should work. These details are handled by the delivering Tesla store. They will be able to help you, but i think this will work out OK, as long as you and...

    Snow Chain for Model s

You didn't say what year car and what size tires you have, but go to Konig configurator and find out what your car needs. My browsing shows the MAX is only for 2012-2021 with 265/35-21 tires. All other year and tire size Tesla S appear to use the non-XL version...

What is the trick to get volume working on SiriusXM?

This happens occasionally with certain updates. I have found that usually, it is just muted for some reason. Turn the volume up and/or press the mute off and I get sound 9-% of the time. Other solution is a reboot.

My 2020 also doesn't always precondition. I'd be interested in any answers as well.

I was not aware of that. So 2021+ don't have that feature?

    Will legacy ever see V12?

It is really sensitive and picky. Definitely still a work in progress. Once I was letting it park, and it reversed past the spot, past the car parked behind the spot, and then went into a space behind THAT car. Always exciting driving a Tesla.

    Will legacy ever see V12?

I use the parking feature on my 2020, but sometimes it is scary fast. I intervene when it looks like it is going to hit something or curb the rear tire. I do not trust it yet.

    Daytime running lights

If range mode is enabled, the DRL will not illuminate. Range Mode (if equipped) conserves energy by limiting the power of the climate control system and turns off the signature lights. Turn Range Mode on by touching Controls > Driving > Range Mode. When turned on in an All-Wheel Drive vehicle...

    Daytime running lights

I don't think the car icon shows DRL and I do not know of any other indications. When the headlights come on because they have changed back to auto (my 2020 does not do this), just turn them off again. The DRL should still be illuminated. The eyebrows are the DRL.
  15. DerbyDave

    Daytime running lights

Yes it does. Park in a garage, and/or near a wall in front of the car with low lighting. You can check by turning the headlights off manually, and then putting the car in Drive with the brake applied. you should be able to see each side DRL illuminated against the wall. Alternatively, have...

    Charging battery properly

Take a look at your situation. Electrical outages that last days, blizzards, forest fires, ill or elderly relatives/friends, hurricanes, derailment with hazardous chemicals, etc. Figure out how much reserve you need to accommodate the potential emergency you may experience for the next day(s)...

    Charging battery properly

@MidBaz , my family is also 400 miles away, and my daily use and charge levels are exactly as you describe. I also make a stop before arrival on family trip because no charging near their area, and charge once about halfway.🙂

    Charging battery properly

Also, I take into consideration possible emergency situations and adjust the battery level. If severe weather or power outages are a possibility, up the charge so you can get out of Dodge quickly or last longer until the power comes back on. If you have a family emergency, you want to have...

    Owners Manual Not Showing

I see no way that service can do anything. It isn't your car, it is just Tesla programmers who neither you nor service can contact. There are so many "software" related issues so much more important than this that I have been waiting years for Tesla to correct. If you buy a Tesla, you must...

    Owners Manual Not Showing

I don't think this has ever worked. I accidently invoked the manual 2 days ago, and it still didn't work. Open up the Tesla App and the Manual is under Service. Read it on your phone, or from your logged-on Tesla account on a webpage on a computer. You can Bookmark it so you can access it...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

My 2020 has no visible flaws. What differences would the years make. I believe it is the same supplier, AGP, AGP | "50 Years Glazing The Future". The only difference is the 2021+ has dual pane side glass.

    Will legacy ever see V12?

Yesterday, I was stopped at a red light, and the car turned on the left blinker to turn the wrong way onto a major street in town. There were visible street signs posted showing it was illegal, and, I assume the map data would have that the street was one way the wrong way. Anyway, I waited for...

Got into car with black screens... what happened?

Shouldn't be happening. Report it using service in the app. While things are supposed to work while computers are rebooting, we are still being left to Tesla programming of the systems for this to work, and that requires a confidence level with Tesla competency that is definitely lacking at...

    Suspension too low

When reported by you and other Teslas, the car will auto raise in a rough area. You can also raise it manually, and make sure "remember this location" is checked. Likewise you can remove remembered location when you return by unchecking the remembered location

    Will legacy ever see V12?

Pretty unusual for an update to fail catastrophically. A reboot using the steering wheel buttons may have corrected it enough for you to get to the service menu and reinstall the software. The bright spot, like you say, is that service was quick to respond. This would cripple me since the...

    Sport seats?

To me at 6'4", it looks like the protruding center of the headrest will hit me right at the bottom of my neck between my shoulders, and it is not movable. Most airplanes have this same poor design, but some are movable. If it isn't tall enough, it makes your head slump forward all the time.

Old Tesla Model S Drive Unit Failure No Warranty Out of Pocket Question

Yes. Parts replaced under warranty are only warrantied for the remainder of that warranty. Parts you buy have these "Parts" warranties. If you buy a HV battery instead of having it replaced under warranty, the Parts warrant would apply for that battery. If a HV battery is replaced free under...

    FSD over speed limit

Turn off the new Auto Speed feature. On mine, it was so slow people were honking. "This optional feature, found under the "Controls > Autopilot" menu, gives the vehicle more freedom regarding its speed, allowing it to keep up with traffic even if it’s higher than the speed limit (which is...

2017 Model S Stuck on FSD v11.0 & Feeling Left Behind

Also, I had to intervene 3 times in 10 miles so don't get your hopes up it drives in the far right of the lane, yet crossed the solid lane on the left for one intervention. I recommend turning off the new auto speed settings, unless you want people to not blow their horns at you for going to...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

I have never heard of this issue on any other car manufacturer, except very rare instances. I have never had this problem in my lifetime, and luckily my Tesla is fine. It seems this is a continuing issue that buyers need to be aware of. Very strange.

Dash showing more range than when new

My 2020 had a rated range of 402 miles when new, Long Range Plus with 19" tires. I am down to around 377 now at 100 percent charge. I am good, but there are better on TeslaFi. 385 is normal and pretty good.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

This is all disturbing news. Tesla should be inspecting the quality of the glass they receive, and reject the glass and penalize the company that makes it for them if it doesn't meet minimum quality. I don't remember the pre 2021+ S having a big problem with bad glass. There, really, is no...

2015 Tesla LTE issue and missing Connectivity tab in Service Mode

The 2015 may not have the 4G modem, and the 3G service has been discontinued in the USA, so the older modem will not ever connect to the network in USA, and must be upgraded with a new 4G card from Tesla.

Model S “Drive Stalk” Ambiguous Nomenclature

You can only engage FSD by pulling the left lower stalk once. You cannot engage autopilot without going in and disabling FSD. Thermal Test Temperature Sensor Failure

The bad temperature sensors need to be checked and/or replaced. This could be a transient problem with timing (slow to respond, etc.) Check it again in a few days and see if it persists. I think if any alert becomes critical, you will see it without running a test.
