Thanks for all the fun and knowledge shared by all of you here on this "little" thread, 2020 would have sucked without you. Happy new year!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I've been thinking about it a lot over the weekend and think the index funds are actually mostly done with buying. The reason is that the reported closing cross volume is 69M shares (paired volume was 60M a second before the close, which could be used instead for not a huge difference in...

But then 40+M sellers appeared at lower prices in AH, puzzling

    55M paired, 18M imbalance shares :D

Holders of those calls closing the calls out, so the MMs are selling the shares they purchased to hedge for those....How do you know that (second line bolded)?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I know it is a very rough estimate and might be even detrimental as you stated (if one takes it too seriously) but it could provide at least some hint at the sentiment for next week. Definitely expecting a surprise, hopefully a positive one :D As...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm trying to come up with an estimate of how much volume really traded hands since the announcement to see how much of it could have been front run already. Would be really useful if someone had insight into Open Interest and its change over time (especially) so I could add how much of it is...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sorry, but I must take issue with this one as you couldn't be more wrong. First - there are people making money of TA and they are called (day) traders. Second, as your "Fermi paradox territory" argument goes - while we're at the cosmology realm - try and go tell that to the people who were the...

Spooked traders and WS entities using their last chance to hold the lid of this pressure cooker before it blasts up? :D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

How do you guys think the media will spin a probable miss on GAAP net income and free cash flow (due to non-sensical expectation averages on FactSet and company compiled "consensus"). Will the FUD be enough for a strong downward pressure on the stock?
  13. G

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

This. Every somehow knowledgeable or smart person expected exactly that, so why announce it a day before after hyping so much previously.

Yeah, I kinda let my thoughts just float on that one :D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not really, it would have been sell-the news anyway as you can see by AH reaction. It only turned to sell the sell-the-news now. I assume all the speculators get out before the event now, so what's left is real buying due to the importance of presented news.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Guys, dont sweat it if TSLA doesn't get announced tonight even if anyone else gets in the index. I have found instances as recent as 09/2019 of companies being added only days apart and around the quarterly rebalancing. There might be similar occasions further in the past as I've not searched...

I don't know how many poorly written headlines like this one there are out Payrolls increase by nearly 1.4 million as the unemployment rate tumbles but I'm thinking it might be one of the reasons for today's dump (traders reading only headlines, algos and stop losses)

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Doesn't really help much honestly, once the mind gets going it's hard to stop on such day. Better go offline for the whole day or longer to try and find inner peace with things not playing out as desired so next time it isn't so disheartening. I think there is so much anticipation here of S&P...

Today was the strongest day of the whole rally since split announcement (not sure if the highest intraday climb, but a strong full green candle)
  25. G

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That's because of the 13% rise I think, it has been steadily growing since split announcement at least according to ivolatility.com

  29. G

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

What pricing do they show for say monthly Oct 500c? Right? That's what I was thinking, especially with the 2-weeks heads-up
  30. G

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Are options tradable yet? My IBKR chart shows quite weird pricing - basically unchaged from pre-split levels except the SP is accurate

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

Yeah, I appologize for the kinda OT post, honestly I knew it wasn't the exactly right thread, but figured I could get more points of view and better advice in an active discussion of experienced options trader like this one. @Right_Said_Fred I know it's rather a gamble and it's money I'm okay...

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

Hi guys, I've been reading reading through the posts here lately quite a bit since I'd like to get into some options trading, especially at this time. I'm planning to buy an OTM call with money willing to part with for a chance of a jackpot. Looking for a mid-term expiry, best case after Q3...
