    delivery fees in Florida

Can anyone here that has taken delivery recently in Florida tell me the complete list of fees that Tesla charges at delivery? assuming no trade in so new tags not transferring.... I understand the county tax will affect it, but that's a very small variable.... I'm in a 5% county...so that's $25...

    Warning about accepting delivery

the advice given in the original post, and all these countless posts about warranty work and bad QC, makes me think of the RV industry. It's widely known that build quality is quite low and QC non-existent across pretty much all RV makers. You kinda need to go into the PDI expecting to test...

    Whole house surge protector?

I out a whole suite of protection form this company when we bought our house several years back Delta Lightning Arrestors arrestors, surge capacitor, hardwired telephone... I have no idea if they really work, but several years later so far so good...at least I sleep a bit better when the storms...

    Route planner

Is a better route planner a good go-to? ...and what do you folks use for settings in a better route planner....for all the State of Charge variables? and do you find the settings for things such as speed and added weight are somewhat accurate and useful? I'm considering buying a model Y...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

yeah...440 seems more reasonable for those gross numbers. all very encouraging to me! I figured the Y would handle towing better than the numbers would seem to indicate since it drives so stable and is rather heavy for its size. Did you by chance note much of a difference with full family...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

the schnell, I'd be very interested to know your "as loaded for camping" weight, as well as the tongue weight...if you ever stop by a CAT scale (use the app so you don't have to go in to the weigh master) If you've never done it...let the app find the scale before you pull on, or enter the...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

I sure would like to be able to ask that author some questions....or better yet see a nice video production of the experience! They did mention that handling and such were good...but how fast did they tow, dynamically how good is "good"? I wonder how much did the suspension end up...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

yes, I reckon sway is more of a function of the trailer's weight and balance.... but weight of the car is a primary handling variable for sure. According to the numbers I've found the Audi has a higher curb weight than even the X....and even a wheelbase almost as long as the x Seems to me lots...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

so lately I've been sidetracked looking at info on the Audi E-Tron. So looking just now for videos or info relating towing experiences with it..... found this report form Norge The very first test of three electric cars with caravans interesting test with an Audi, an X, and a Mercedes all towing...

AM radio. On various two lane roads in Oregon, assign will read if lights flashing there’s a warning

one of my hangups holding me back...Not a primary issue, but in my daily driver I listen to AM about ...oh maybe 98.5% of the time that I drive..... It's probably a majority of folks don't use AM radio, but still some of us do....

    Longer Term Repairs and Maintenance

CV shafts? that's a concern I have about Teslas.... the last front wheel drive car I had was an acura. It was fine till they went out....high miles so not premature. I had lots of issues replacements. I had even gone OEM and spent more for them at the dealer. Later after a few replacements I...

    Is load capacity too low?

I started looking at the Audi etron. It seems to have a greater towing capacity and much more cushion in the GVWR for a larger cargo capacity than the model Y does.... but as best as I can tell...and I haven't so far found a full official spec sheet with all these numbers.... but it seems that...

Do you regret paying for Full Self Driving?

so based on what it currently gives I've leaning toward it not being worth it. But what other features do you foresee in the next year or three that might bolster it?

Do you regret paying for Full Self Driving?

yeah...I really don't care about summon or autopark. Maybe many years from now when those things might be better perfected they might be mildly interesting to me...but by then I'll likely be in a different car anyway. The navigate on autopliot is more interesting to me. The stoplight...

Do you regret paying for Full Self Driving?

To those of you that have the Full Self Driving If you had to do it over again, would you do it at the current $8k price? I've been teetering on the ledge wanting to order a model Y. All along I've pretty much decided that I would include the FSD. Anyway, my biggest tripping point is...

Model Y comparable to Model 3 (Driving experience)

    contactless delivery and accepting it

but if you just order online...which seems to be the sales model for Tesla...and also preferable in this "contactless / social distancing" time we live in... then you don't have a Sales Advisor. I did work with a Sales person in Tampa only just briefly when I walked in for a test drive and...

Bridgestone DriveGuard Run-Flat Tires on a Telsa?

Roadside assistance for a flat tire?

I found a screw in the tire of my silverado last Friday. Took my son out Saturday AM and gave him a lesson on plugging tires. He's in driver's ed currently, a couple weeks away from his permit....so nice timing actually. It has been many years since I've done that.....and my plug kit is so old...

Roadside assistance for a flat tire?

most RV's (motorhomes) don't come with a spare I negotiated a tire and rim when I bought ours. Wondering if any of you know if Florida Power and Light has any sort of EV program with variable pricing that would encourage scheduled charging at low demand time frames?...cheaper in the middle of the night? Model Y comparable to Model 3 (Driving experience)

I don't own either...yet. Tested both though, although months apart. Tested a 3 with just me and my son, then several months later the Y with wife and all 3 kids.... I honestly can't tell if there's a difference or not. Regardless, I think it's logical.... each is good, but if you compare...

FM Radio Solution for Upgraded MCU2 cars?

ohhh, I see.... so the message is to stay away from older used ones if you like radio. Got it. Suddenly having flashback to what were old cars even when I was a kid..... that had under dash mounted external radios or tape decks... jump back to the days of the 8-track...nice!

    Price of Supercharging

based on those numbers...$1.44/25 miles = 0.0576 per mile x 1,000 miles = $57.60 not much of a reward!!!!! And as I understand it they have a short expiration timeline so it might be common to not even get to use them all!!!! Is that really all you get for a referral?

    Is load capacity too low?

pure speculation for the purposes of conversation.... my guess is that design intent was centered around more of what we are appearently actually seeing....most Y owners are only using the hitch for very light duty...bike racks, etc... or small trailers only very rarely. It's probably more of...

    Is load capacity too low?

excellent info, thanks all. I have been wondering about the "rest of the story". I've not seen the axle ratings before now. I've been searching and keeping my eyes peeled for any reports of actual towing experience, since I'm really wanting an EV, and have been focused on the Y for a bit now...

Model Y Towing - Experiences Post here

interesting Craybeard, thanks. and that is bad how the safety chains hang. Bad design. I'm not one to be so forgiving to the designers about stuff like that. In this case, that makes it even more clear that towing was not the primary design goal here....keeping the hitch covered hidden...

    White vs Black Exterior Paint

I used to prefer grey, tan, or silver based colors for cars. My current ride is white...basically the same old plain white you'd see on a work truck or van. 100% that is my preference. I live in the South and surface temps are much cooler it's ironically easier to keep "clean" looking.... or...

Would you prefer your Tesla to have a Euro Style charge socket?

Watching youtube I learned that the Tesla cars in Europe have a different universal style socket.... looks like the chargers all have some sort of combo style plug that I assume meets some standardization requirement. Do you wish we had that here in the US, or are there enough superchargers...

    Homemade Pull down ceiling charger

Cybergus' reel reminds me of a fire I once helped to put out. Way back in the 80's I was at a friend's Grandfather's house working on cars out in the garage one evening. He had a reel like that but it had one of those old fashioned drop lights with outlets in the handle instead of a triple...

At what point can I ask for like a free t-shirt or free floor mats?

    My Model Y Delivery Experience

piggyback question.... you said they let you inspect before you accepted. Did they let you test drive it? if so, on the road/highway, or just in the lot? I've always wanted to test drive, just to make sure a car doesn't have some odd pull, rattle, etc...

    browsing or APPs?

Just thought of a question that never came to me during either of my test drives..... do these cars have a browser, so that basically any web site can be browsed...Chrome or similar? My Model Y Delivery Experience

Glad you had an acceptable experience.
