Vendor Show Off Your Aftermarket Model Y Wheels

I took a little bit of an efficiency hit, but not terrible. I would say 5-10%. More importantly, the car drives much better on the michelins VS the Goodyear F1s that come stock. Since they have more side wall, they are not as rough over bumps and potholes. Braking and handling was much improved...

    Garage Door Opener?

When I bought the Homelink Module for my MRLR back in May, it was only $300. It has since gone up by $50 bucks. I would still buy it again if needed on another Tesla. The unit works great and can do automatic opening and closing based on GPS location and distance. You Park outside your garage...

20x10 wheel, 255 square tires or 275 square??

Go 275. More wheel protection and a better ride.

    275/40/20 stock induction wheels

Surprisingly, this setup was within 1lb of the stock induction wheel/tire.(I put them on a scale) It is slightly less efficient than stock, I think the tire compound and aerodynamics of the wheel accounts for the energy consumption.

    275/40/20 stock induction wheels

Thank You, I did not do any acceleration runs before or after. Believe It or not I weighed these against the stock induction setup and both were between 59-60lbs. This is a much more sticky tire. I think that and the Aerodynamics of the induction over this more open wheel accounts for a slight...

    275/40/20 stock induction wheels

I Have Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's (275/40zr20) on all 4 corners on my 21 model Y. Tsportline TS5 20x10 rims. 5mm more offset than the Inductions. The tires fit perfectly and do not rub anywhere. This change has improved the handling of the car for the better, way better.

    Current Delivery Times

Very Nice! Sounds like you will have it soon. My dates are about the same 4/28-5/2. Yesterday my car was at the rail yard near Fremont, waiting to be loaded for the trip to Birmingham. I have my delivery scheduled for 5/1. Hopefully it won’t slip. Supposed to arrive at Tesla in Alpharetta, Ga on...

    Current Delivery Times

Long Range AWD, white, induction wheels, tow hitch. It’s true, my SA showed me her computer screen, it showed that the car was already at the rail yard to get loaded on the train. They can tell you where the car is at anytime. Pretty cool. Thanks Geeky!

Ordered 4/6,received a VIN yesterday. Also, my SA told me that the car was “born” yesterday as well, then I was matched with the VIN 3 hours after it rolled off of the line. scheduled for delivery 5/1. Apparently it rides a train to Birmingham AL, then goes on a truck to me in Atlanta. 😃

Chance to buy "test drive" model - Should I ?

Im sure that car will have some curb rash on at least two of the rims, which would dig into your discount. The car I test drove had 4100 miles on it and the 21"s were destroyed already. Personally for that amount id prefer a new car. Either way, im sure you'll be happy with a MYP!

    Model Y: 10,000 mile review

Wow, that's a lot of brake work for a modern car. At my last oil change, they told me I needed new rear pads. I think I need front rotors as well. The brakes vibrate badly under heavy braking at 33K miles. Which is kind of crazy for a 55K dollar car. I looked at the T8 as well, it gets...

    Model Y: 10,000 mile review

My XC60 has 20' rims on Continental rubber. I don't think the MYP with 21" wheels and Pirelli Pzero tires was any rougher riding, it sure did handle better. I think it may be perceived as louder or rougher due to the lack of engine/transmission noise covering things up. With the windows down you...

    Model Y: 10,000 mile review

The MY was much larger behind the rear seats, plus the under floor storage and the frunk. I felt like the room in the front seat was about the same (I was surprised that the seats were more comfortable than the XC60 as well), but I think the back seat area is a bit larger.

    Model Y: 10,000 mile review

Thats good information.Glad you are liking your Y. I currently have a 2018 XC60 T5. I just did a overnight test drive in a MYP. My biggest gripe about the Volvo (other than it being ICE) is the super slow boot up of the center screen. if you jump in this car, put it in reverse right away you...
