What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Some Tesla insiders will tell you 80% while others will say 90%. You’ll get varying opinions from engineers, technicians, etc...That’s what makes it so frustrating. One engineering document states one percentage while another lists a different one. Yes, this is absolutely true. Lol. But the only...

    Random Breaking on Highway

Remember...AP is still considered Beta. What setting did you have the braking on? If it’s set to “early” the car will brake when a car is waaaaay in front of you. Also, did this occur while going under an overpass? Sometimes you can get false positives from many different things...including...

Does the autopilot "learn" a new alignment?

It will auto calibrate to a certain point. My guess is the shop you bright it to didn’t reset the SAS...and possibly the car auto calibrated it. Not 100% sure of course. The steering rack communicates with the SCCM. It tells the controller for the steering wheel what the steering angle degree...

Tire rotation frequency - actual need vs warranty sake?

there’s no mileage warranty in tires. Is your 3 dual motor? Dual motor 3’a tend to wear tires more evenly, whereas rear drive will burn through rear tires more quickly. You’ll be lucky to get 20k on tires. Most customers replace at about 15k. The worst I’ve seen was 5k and the best was 25k.

Traction control activating on interchange ramps and cloverleafs. Alignment or software?

document the dates and times and how to replicate the issue. Make an appointment with the service center

    Lower control arm replacement

The bushings will fail without lowering. Premature upper control arm bushing wear is a KNOWN issue. I have seen many 3’s come into the service center with lower control arm issues. If you alter the suspension the service center will NOT warranty any suspension issues.

    Clicking noise when accelerating

setup an appointment—the service center will lube the drive axle splines

    2020 Deliveries - Paint better?

Not much. Every week the service center has new car paint rectifications. Sometimes a touch-up guy can air brush in the parking lot. Other times the car has to be sent to a 3rd party body shop. Most cars do NOT get sent to the Tesal Body Shop. There are still diet inclusions, hinges not getting...

Model Y crack in the glass roof

Does it look like an impact or a stress fracture? There were known issues with model 3’s having stress fractures and we’ve seen it on model y’s as well.

    White Interior & Tinting %???

Don’t order the white interior. The vegan leather is porous and the white is horrible for color transfer from blue denim and other materials. Trust me you’ll regret it. We used to get customer complaints all the time from color transfer especially from blue jeans and on brand new cars.

Worry about leaking from windshield of model y

Thet black plastic piece is a cosmetic trim piece. The windshield is held into place with butyl and adhesive. That plastic trim piece is not meant to create a seal. Not a very good design. Almost an afterthought.

    Squeaky Windows

known “characteristic.” If you clean and lubricate the belt molding and window, the noise will go away temporarily. However, it will come back. No permanent rectification.

Falcon wing door just opened, no reason and no warning, now what?

lots of false positives. Document the dates/times and make an appointment.

    Stuck 3rd row seat

Common issue. The release cable gets detached in most cases, or may require a new seat to be installed.

Any have the rear load floor support break? (cargo cover support)

It’s a common repair at the service center. Obviously a design flaw that was upgraded on newer MX’s. Of course the service center will not tell you that though.

Tires are Already Bald After 14523 Miles in Less Than 2 Years and? Is this Normal?

Normal. The cars are heavy as heck. Also, electric drive units have a lot of torque and cause tires to wear much more quickly than other cars. The worst I’ve seen was a dual motor M3 with only 5k on it.

    center display startup issue

Known issue that the Feds are investigating. Your MCU memory may be at EOL (end of life). Every day Tesla’s are towed into service centers with this issue. In some cases they can get the MCU back online, but I’m most cases it requires replacement. A new fix is replacing the daughter board.

Show Me Your Inner Tire Wear Photos

the cars come with excessive negative camber which will cause inside tread wear. Known issue that is masked and “normal.” Unfortunate you cannot rotate tires on a MX to rectify this.

    Drive through car wash?

Do NOT go through a drive thru car wash. You have front to back glass and could potentially damage the glass. There are already a number of model 3’s and y’s with stress fractures (defects).

Aftermarket Suspension with OEM Height and Softer Ride

The cars are sooooo heavy...that suspension parts do NOT last as long as they do on other cars. I’ve see. M3’s with as little as 3000 miles require new upper control arms. We would get M3’s in eeeeeeeevry day with this issue.

Aftermarket Suspension with OEM Height and Softer Ride

I’m a former employee. If you alter the suspension that will void that part of your warranty. It gives Tesla the excuse to not rectify noise concerns or known issues. FYI: the upper control arms on M3 are a known issue. The bushings get hammered and cause noise and drive ability concerns. Tesla...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

It is recommended to charge between 80% and 90%. Don’t drop below 20%. The optimal would be 40% to 80 or 90. The more consistent you are with your driving and charging habits the more accurate the range estimate will be.

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

They won’t come up with a number. They have to protect themselves. That’s why there’s ambiguity and no official documentation for customers.

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Hi, I’m a former Tesla employee and it is recommended to charge daily; you pick—between 80% to 90%. Use a regular charging regiment and don’t drop below 20% or it will thriwb
