Hydro québec just published an update about that on their web site. It appears it is now opened, there is 8 180KW with sharing (so 16), there is also 2 350KW with sharing(so 4). Add that to the existing 4 50KW, there are now 24 charging ports. with Tesla, it adds up to 44 charging ports :)

Also, they are cutting all cement pole at supercharger stalls. The guy doing it said it was to give more space for vehicle to go further.

They are installing hydro quebec level 3 charger (circuit électrique) there are 4 installed 180 kw and can charge 2 vehicles at a time (probably half the speed) for what I saw, there will be 4 others installed. The total would be 20 spots(8x2 + 4) including the 4 that were already there

Probably an additional sign that the highland version is coming. There is a lot of model 3 demo vehicle for sale in the inventory (Montreal area at least)

Also of note from the canadian fuel economy numbers. The new M3 LR is less efficient that the old one (16.6Kwh/100km vs 16) so it means the car is also probably heavier or else.

From Montreal to the south shore. There are other bridges, but it will be difficult for the time being... Unless you absolutely need to go to the south shore before Quebec, it will be easier to take the 40 for the next 3 years.

Sainte-Marie :( The only one other that sherbrooke and magog south of the 20 Highway... There are not a lot of Teslas sold south of the 20 but there are a lot of Tesla that go visit their family there...

Me too! There are inconsistencies with regen braking for the last few months... On the same drive, regen works and then, out of nowhere, get reduced to the point you think there is none and then it comes back and on and off randomly... It does work most of the time but it happens quite often...

Normally, someone out there will open up that battery pack sooner rather than later and it will probably answer a couple of things. If we are lucky, Tesla itself might give details about it when Austin cars deliveries start

This transfer the weight to a different place. In the end, there is active cooling but it is done at a different place. Cooling plates probably cost less that snake (I definitely heard it somewhere but I don't remember where). It takes a little space on top of the batteries but you save space...

As the batteries get bigger, cooling with ribbons/snakes on the side is becoming less efficient. The part touching the snake will be ok but the other side of the batteries will have a hard time cooling down. Cooling from one end of the batteries increase the cooling capacity. There are sheets...

cooling is done on one side and electrical connections is done on the other side. Look at the Lucid video on the manner, it is a very good video that explain the reasoning behind this setup. Edit: the cooling plates are actives: fluid is circulating in them.

There is a cooling system for the modelY. The modelY pump glycol on the side of the batteries, it would instead be pump on the plate over the batteries, so it would be mostly the same for energy draw

Munro think that it is way more efficient to cool from top or bottom(not both). Even if the travel distance is higher, the heat resistance is way lower so it would be better to do it that way. The cutaway clearly shows that Tesla hasn't done that for 4680 (at least in that cutaway). Also...

The 279 miles AWD model EPA document is submitted by Tesla... so it is not a screwup

Also, not sure if it has been said before, but the new submission to EPA on 2/22 uses the same car (same car ID on page 15) as the submission done on 2/1. So there is no new car coming from EPA anytime soon. Probably only minor adjustment done on the same car. So it looks like there won't be...

Like Firocity said, this may be that the first version of 4680 are not up to what they were supposed to. There was delays compare to what was annouced at battery day and maybe they had to downplay it to get good yield. I don't know if what I say is making any sense, but maybe they are making...

For EV the weight reduction is super important, so if they are filling up the space with something that is as heavy as batteries, it would be a very bad design. But yes, it would make sense to fill the void with something for structural integrity.

I talked about a possible "soft lock" in a latter post. But with the name being AWD as in not LR AWD, it would make no sense to bump those numbers up too much... The AWD can't be as good or better than the AWD LR

unless they soft lock 30% of the battery capacity, which would explain the weight being the same but capacity being lower. Or the 4680 for the moment are *sugar* quality and they can't use all of its optimal capacity until it is ok. I really hope this MY AWD doesn't contain 4680.

You convinced me to look around the different EPA documents :) First thing: normally, the screenshots are not necessarily from the car that was submitted to EPA: docid 54293 has a submission for a Model Y with model 3 screenshots. But in this case it appears to be a screenshot of the model Y...

To support my case, here is mostly the same result with model 3. We can see that the LFP version has mostly the same efficiency as the LR version (132 vs 131) but the old SR+ with 2170 batteries has a better efficiency from the lower weight (142 MPGe) this chart looks a lot like the one posted...

Here what I think doesn't add up: 4680 with structural battery pack and front casting is supposed to weight less at the same battery capacity so it is supposed to be more efficient at the same battery capacity. The new AWD from EPA has a lower battery capacity but mostly the same efficiency...

It can be useful for some part of the world like California. But I don't think air quality is that bad for the majority of us. So making it mandatory to help a minority is a bad design decision. Making it optional would satisfy those who wants it and those who don't want it.

Every Tesla can activate the climate control from the phone app... I am not sure how the filter would make this quicker. It filters particules, not heat...
