Not at all. It's installed behind a cover in the area directly below the rear bumper. The cover is kind of a pain to remove but once it's off, the hitch is set inside the opening and doesn't protrude.

That's why I posted - to get opinions so thank you! The price felt high to me too but I've never had PPF or ceramic done before. There's a chance I didn't hear him correctly and that wax was not part of it...I will double check though.

I'm in the same boat - placed my order 7/31 with tow hitch. I've noticed that there have been a handful of people who placed their orders on the same date and even after without the tow hitch who received the "Your Y will be ready in 3-6 weeks" text message with some even receiving delivery...
