    California waiting room Q3

I’m assuming there is more pressure on volume at factory gate and less time for correction at the delivery centers.

Ugh can’t imagine the shitbox quality on these rushed builds

    California waiting room Q3

Just checked account and saw delivery appointment added mid-day 9/29. No VIN, no text, no call to ask about availability. I’m busy at the time of the appointment so I’ll wait to see if they text me before I’ll ask to move it up or to end of day. Bay Area, 8/9 order for the vanilla model

Out of town during delivery window

Got a 2-4 weeks out text from Tesla. Replied asking if they would hold if it became available while while I was out of town, got the following reply: "Vehicles can be held a maximum of 3 days. If you are not available when a vin is assigned you will be reassigned a new one once you are available."

Spoke to soon. Just got the boilerplate "Delivery in 2-4 weeks" text.

    California waiting room Q3

I drove by the San Mateo delivery center on the way to work this morning and the lot was FULL of new Model Ys. Don’t know if these are for CA or if they’re just using the service center as an overflow while they wait for shipping/trucking capacity for elsewhere. I see it as a good sign though.

Out of town during delivery window

I have some travel coming up and I’m concerned I’ll be out of town when my delivery window is offered. What happens in this case? If I’m unavailable for the 3 day window, will they give my car to someone else? Do I go to the back of the line or could I expect a shorter wait for round two?

ANOTHER 3-5 Weeks?!?! (Bad News Thread)

Former employee, can confirm local deliveries are backloaded to EOQ. Consider that for S/X Tesla is also optimizing for overseas shipments. There are always exceptions but there is no question that this is the general strategy to maximize quarterly deliveries.
