    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

I also noticed the cell service there is pretty poor. I'm guessing the Supercharger itself may connect to the network via Wifi. I had a hard time checking on my car via the app as it wasn't able to reliably connect to the vehicle. Just a heads up if you plan to stop in and watch Netflix in the...

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

As of today the in car nav and app show 8 stalls and the context kWh limit. Haven’t been able to make it there to plug in but looks promising.

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

Nav shows as open, as does the Tesla app, but unlike other SCs it doesn't show an active stall count -- that's the giveaway. When you plug in nothing happens, and clicking the charger doesn't open the charger port. I've tried 1A and 2A, and it looks like others have tried multiple other stalls...

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

Sadly not up yet 🙁 Construction tape gone but it looks like they don’t have any power. Button on the handle doesn’t trigger charge port, and plugging it in just says “Ready to charge.” Oh well, getting closer!

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

Gasp! It's showing up as available on my Tesla app (though doesn't say number of stalls available, which all the others do - so that's suspicious). I'm not able to head over now, will check it out tomorrow

    Which vaccine did you get?

And yet there's a world of possibilities ranging from "I get it and I'm totally fine" to "I'm dead." Long term lung damage, neurological issues, and cardiac disease are all being found. Anecdotally, two of the guys from my CrossFit gym who would regularly top the leaderboards are still...

    Which vaccine did you get?

Dealing with this with my elderly parents. Refusing to get the vaccine because "they don't need it." Oh, okay. Totally cool risking a painful and expensive death because you couldn't be bothered to spend 30 minutes extra at the grocery store to get a free shot. Sure-fire way to die and be...

2021.4.11 - what is with the loud banging sounds

That's the self destruct arming. I'd put in my command codes real quick if I were you.... (but seriously that's super common with updates, nothing to be concerned about)

My Y losing 3% battery every night

Thank you everyone for your help! I looked into everything everyone mentioned, and I have a winner: Yup, me being an idiot. Scheduled Departure was turned off in charging, but the 48.30 update was the first one with the new UI for me. Old UI made precondition clearly attached to Scheduled...

My Y losing 3% battery every night

Help, I've got an electron leak! I updated to 48.30 about two weeks ago, and every night since I've been losing about 3% battery. I am guessing the car is getting woken up overnight, as in the morning when I go to check the app/widget the new/lower battery % is already updated before the...

Slipping on inclines while in park

Welp, guess you're going to have to reach out to Mr. Brooks from my 2004 high school driver's ed class! He clearly missed a page. Should've focused less on alligator dodging, seems like that module took a whole week! All that said, since it seems like we're in the mood to be zealous internet...

Slipping on inclines while in park

As someone who took Driver's Ed in Florida, where there are neither hills nor snow, I can say it's not taught everywhere :D. Wish it was! This is good to know (and makes good sense).

    Reset TPMS Position?

I recently got new winter tires on my same rims (20" induction), and it seems like they put the rims on in the "wrong" spots. That normally wouldn't seem like a big deal, and in fact pretty expected with something like a tire rotation. The problem is that when I look at the tire pressure it's...

Slipping on inclines while in park

Interesting! Would manually engaging the parking brake (e-brake) solve this? I'll admit I don't know what the e-brake does on these cars given your description.

Slipping on inclines while in park

On two occasions now I've put my Model Y in park on an incline and it begins rolling. It seems the back tires lock up but the front two keep rolling. This has only happened on slippery surfaces when the car is in park, and even with very good traction tires (X-ICE Snow). If I keep my foot on the...

    2020.48.x

What didn't you read properly? I haven't seen anything posted about it being bad (other than the build hash :D) Mine also updated to 48.30 and while I haven't seen the reboots (but also haven't been driving), I did lose about 5% charge overnight despite the temperatures outside warming up. The...

    Park animation. So dumb

I’d gamble most everyone here can use it. The issue is it’s unintuitive and inefficient. Making the user wait to engage functionality so that they can sit and see your fancy animation for the 100th time is just bad design. Imagine if every time you wanted to close a tab in your browser you had...

Need opinion: Which special background WA plate design goes best with Blue Model S?

My vote's Mariners, or Fred Hutch if you want something more clean. +1 on the black plate option! Would love to get minimalist plates.

Scared to go to the carwash

I've been going to a touchless car wash and that's worked fine, no damage to the car. The trim does get discolored depending on the soap they use, there's a whole thread discussing this and what folks have used to get it off. Personally I've had luck using Weiman Stainless Steal cleaning wipes...

Software update 2020.48.26.x update, font size problems

You might build a UI to have patterns that can accommodate your future roadmap, but those shouldn't sacrifice your in-market usability. I think the UI is suffering from a very classic Tesla problem: they're too far out in front of themselves. The 3/Y is the physical manifestation of this. Its...

    2020.48.x

I really don't get this gaslighting. When I bought a Tesla the updates were baked in the price, meaning it's one of the reasons I chose to go with Tesla. The car having more or less updates than an ICE car is irrelevant, and it doesn't make disappointment with a given update any less...

    Personal EV station at Condo

I didn't have any luck convincing my complex to add it, but ChargePoint offers options that the HOA can install and it takes care of all the billing for them. Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

I'll admit, I'm not really getting your point. Are you concerned that customers reporting a big unresolved issue will in some way inconvenience or annoy their support staff? If Tesla is concerned about redundant reports then they can follow very common industry patterns, like aggregated in app...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

I haven't seen evidence they're aware. One poster said the chat support acknowledged it as a known issue, but when I contacted chat support they weren't aware of the issue. The best chance to ensure it does end up on radar is for multiple customers to independently report the issue via feedback...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

@BrandonR22 I think you’ve got a different issue than the one we’re discussing here. I was running the iOS 14 beta since Dev Beta 1 and never had an issue with the Tesla app on the iPhone 11 Pro. Same 14.1 build on iPhone 12 Pro has the issue, whereas on iPhone 11 Pro does not. This one, based...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

+1. It's possible it's AT&T, it's possible it isn't, but either way Tesla's customers are uniquely impacted and Tesla has a significantly easier path to escalate to AT&T engineering than the average customer. I'll also just say, even though it does look suspicious, since it's not impacted on...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

@momoz74 have you contacted Tesla support? The best hope is that sufficient people report it that they take notice. Even if it's an AT&T issue Tesla can escalate to AT&T far easier than any customer can.

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

I just did the chat w/ Tesla Support as well. They weren't aware of the issue and said they'd escalate it to the advanced support team. So it may be worth continuing to reach out as well so as to help them triangulate the problem.

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

Many AT&T plans don't actually include 5G. They simply re-branded LTE to be "5Ge". From what I've been able to tell, if your iPhone 12 Pro is on AT&T 5G (true 5G) it's not working, and if you're not on a 5G capable plan (LTE/5Ge) then it's working.

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

I did, but I had updated to 40.8 prior to upgrading the phone. I also swapped my SIM back into my iPhone 11 and it connected perfectly fine over cellular. Back into the 12 Pro, same issue. One weird thing that has since happened, and maybe it was due to the SIM swap, but an hour or so after I...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

Unfortunately I still haven't found a solution. Tesla's app support is non-existent, and AT&T's support would be an exercise in frustration and futility. So no clue how to even submit the bug at this point.

Would you put your car on the robotaxi network?

I also think some people would pay extra for driverless, assuming it was at L4/5. In the early days there's the novelty of it. But even now there's a level of anxiety in unpredictability of the driver. I've had more than a couple Uber drivers text while driving, scream into their phones on a...

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

Yes to all the above, including resetting carrier settings. From what I see on Reddit the people having problems are on AT&T like myself. Another T-Mo user reported being unaffected. When I put my SIM back in my old phone and try the Tesla app it works perfectly.

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

Since upgrading to the iPhone 12 Pro I'm unable to wake the car up over cellular and get a "Network Timeout". The app works perfectly when I switch over to WiFi, so this is cellular only (AT&T). I've confirmed Cellular Data is on (see below), and tried this on 5G Only, LTE Only, and 5G Auto --...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

Oh I'm sure they do (or at least I hope they do :)), but of course it's very very difficult to have a truly comprehensive test suite. That's why most companies have moved away from huge test suites and QA and into experimentation in production. You'll always have automation for your P0 base...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

By your logic the vNew FSD would lead to the same behaviors as the vOld FSD. An existing, tested model executes an existing, tested action. If either of those statements is false, either the model or the action being untested, then by default the chain is untested. You're absolutely right that...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

Even if they're using the same ML models (which is doubtful, given the things Elon has said about how model calculations are done from multiple views, which is different than today), it would be the equivalent of taking the tires off your old car, putting them on your new car, and then saying...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

If what Elon says is true the new FSD beta will be a total rewrite, so they can't make any assumptions on safety from what the current AP can do. They're basically regressing to 0 public hours of real world testing from the millions they have currently. I'll bet their confidence in Palo Alto FSD...

    How to avoid road debris

Renton Service Center - Another Review

The service folks at Bellevue have been nice and helpful, but they're definitely suffering from too much demand.
